Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah sikap dan norma subjektif dapat memprediksi intensi berhenti merokok wanita emerging adult. Masa emerging adult merupakan tahap perkembangan dimana prevalensi penyalahgunaan berbagai macam zat paling tinggi ditemukan. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini adalah sikap dan norma subjektif dapat memprediksi intensi berhenti merokok pada wanita emerging adult. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 211 orang wanita emerging adult, yaitu mereka yang berusia 18-25 tahun. Partisipan mengisi kuesioner yang disusun oleh peneliti menggunakan pendekatan Theory of Planned Behavior dan teori intensi perilaku. Data dianalisis dengan teknik regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap (B=0.229, SE=0.07, nilai p=.003) dan norma subjektif (B=0.645, SE=.078, nilai p=.000) berkorelasi positif dengan intensi berhenti merokok pada wanita emerging adult (F(211)=33.36 , df=207, R2=.325, nilai p=.000). Dari temuan penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa varians skor prediktor berkontribusi sebesar 32.5% terhadap varians skor variabel dependen.

Abstract

The number of teenagers in Indonesia using social media has been increasing over time, along with the positive impact they have experienced. Through it, they can communicate interpersonally, in groups, and even as a business medium. However, negative impacts can arise if they are not cautious in using social media, such as addiction to social media, using devices not at the appropriate time and place, and cyber bullying. To prevent the negative impact of social media on adolescents, this community service activity aims to provide psychoeducation for SMU Negeri 3 Kediri students to be responsible in social media. The implementation of psychoeducation by providing material, questions and answers, along with a pre-test and post-test consisting of 5 questions about understanding digital literacy and the use of social media. The number of students who participated in psychoeducation activities was 68 students. The test results were analyzed by paired sample t-test using Jamovi software version 2.3.21 for Mac. The t-test results show that the average difference between the pre-test and post-test is very small, -0.147 and the significance value is 0.105. This indicates no significant change in the understanding of the wise use of social media before and after psychoeducation. This happens because students already have a pretty good knowledge about the use of social media.

Abstract

Background: The growing popularity of social media has allowed people to be able to communicate in a more efficient and effective manner, as well as sharing any information in real time. Other numerous instruments were developed to measure individuals’ social media influence in their daily lives, but these have yet remained insufficient due to solely focusing on duration. Purpose: This study aims to examine the psychometric properties of the Social Media Use Integration Scale (SMUIS) for users of the Instagram platform in the Indonesia context. The scale was originally developed by Jenkins-Guarnieri et al. (2013) to measure how individuals integrate their social media usage with their social lives and psychological state.Method: This study used a sample of 305 participants (Male = 19.7%, Female = 80.3%) aged 18-29 years old (M = 21, SD = 3.15) which collected using purposive sampling method. Psychometric properties were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Results contributed preliminary evidence of a satisfactory reliability and validity of the SMUIS in the Indonesian context. Implication: Further study should focus on testing the SMUIS on different age contexts and other social media platforms such as TikTok.

Abstract

Several studies have investigated the mental health impacts of climate change, with only a few examining the effect of social media use on climate anxiety. The spread of information through social media can exacerbate anxiety, including climate change anxiety. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the influence of social media use on climate anxiety among emerging adults. A cross-sectional design was used, with data collected from both males (n = 55) and females (n = 225). Participants completed a self-administered questionnaire that included demographic characteristics, the Social Media Use Integration Scale, and the Climate Anxiety Scale. Data were analyzed using a moderator analysis technique. The results showed social media use significantly predicted climate anxiety among emerging adults, confirming that higher social media use could directly increase climate anxiety. However, gender had no significant moderating effect on the relationship. These results had important theoretical and practical implications for understanding climate anxiety, especially in the digital era.

Abstract

Self-esteem merupakan salah satu aspek psikologis yang memengaruhi bagaimana individu dapat menunjukkan perilaku yang berbeda di media sosial.  Perbedaan perilaku yang berbeda ini dapat disebut sebagai online disinhibition. Online disinhibition ini memungkinkan individu menunjukkan perilaku yang positif ataupun agresif. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah guna mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara self-esteem dengan online disinhibition pada emerging adult pengguna media sosial X. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 385 responden usia emerging adult pengguna media sosial X. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Alat ukur untuk mengukur self-esteem yang digunakan adalah adaptasi Self-Liking/Self-Competence Scale-Revised (SLCS-R) ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Sedangkan, online disinhibition diukur dengan menggunakan modifikasi Online Disinhibition Scale (ODS). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson dengan nilai korelasi sebesar -0,229 (r=-,0229) dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05). Hasil tersebut mengartikan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara self-esteem dengan online disinhibition pada emerging adult pengguna media sosial X dengan arah hubungan negatif. Abstract Self-esteem is one of the psychological aspects that influence how individuals can show different behaviors on social media. This difference in behavior can be referred to as online disinhibition. This online disinhibition allows individuals to show positive or aggressive behavior. The purpose of this research is to find out how the relationship between self-esteem and online disinhibition in emerging adult social media users X. The method used in the research is quantitative by involving 385 respondents of emerging adult users of social media X. The data were collected through questionnaires. Data collection was done through distributing questionnaires. The measuring instrument to measure self-esteem used is the adaptation of the Self-Liking/Self-Competence Scale-Revised (SLCS-R) into Indonesian. Meanwhile, online disinhibition was measured using the modified Online Disinhibition Scale (ODS). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test with a correlation value of -0.229 (r=-.0229) and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05). These results mean that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem and online disinhibition in emerging adult social media users X with a negative relationship direction.

Abstract

Merokok pada wanita dewasa awal sering kali memunculkan konflik psikologis antara pengetahuan akan dampak negatif rokok dengan perilaku yang dijalani. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi  pengalaman disonansi kognitif yang dialami oleh wanita dewasa awal yang merokok. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dengan metode fenomenologi untuk menggali makna subjektif dari pengalaman tersebut. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek mengalami disonansi dalam bentuk rasa bersalah, penyesalan, dan pertentangan nilai personal. Untuk mereduksi disonansi, mereka cenderung melakukan rasionalisasi dengan cara mencari informasi pendukung perilaku, mengubah keyakinan agar sejalan dengan perilaku yang dilakukan, serta menyesuaikan tingkat disonansi itu sendiri agar tidak mengganggu perilaku mereka. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya pendekatan psikologis yang mempertimbangkan aspek disonansi kognitif dalam upaya memahami dan mengurangi perilaku merokok pada kelompok ini. Abstract Smoking among early adult women often triggers psychological conflict between their awareness of the harmful effects of smoking and their actual behavior. This study aims to explore the experience of cognitive dissonance among early adult women who smoke. A qualitative approach was used with a phenomenological method to explore the subjective meaning of these experiences. The subjects consisted of five women aged 18–25 who are active smokers. The results of the study indicate that the subjects experienced dissonance in the form of guilt, regret, and a conflict of personal values. To reduce the dissonance, they tended to rationalize their behavior by seeking information that supports their actions, altering their beliefs to align with their behavior, and adjusting the level of dissonance so that it would not interfere with their actions. These findings highlight the need for psychological approaches that take cognitive dissonance into account in efforts to understand and reduce smoking behavior within this group.

Abstract

Pada tahun pertama peralihan jenjang pendidikan ada tuntutan yang harus dihadapi, oleh karena itu individu harus bisa menyesuaikan diri. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh dukungan sosial yang diberikan kepada teman sebaya untuk membantu menyesuaikan diri dilingkungan sekolah, dengan memberikan bantuan dan afirmasi positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap penyesuaian diri pada remaja siswa MAN 2 Gresik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Subjek berjumlah 153 siswa kelas X MAN 2 Gresik melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan secara luring dengan skala dukungan social dan penyesuaian diri yang diadaptasi dalam bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS 26.0 for Windows. Hasil menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan dari dukungan sosial teman sebaya terhadap penyesuaian diri dengan nilai korelasi 0,303 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p<0,05). Artinya semakin tinggi tingkat dukungan sosial dari siswa maka semakin tinggi penyesuaian diri. Abstract The first year of transitioning into a new educational level presents various demands that must be addressed, thereby requiring individuals to adapt accordingly. This study is motivated by the role of peer social support in helping students adjust to the school environment through the provision of assistance and positive affirmation. The aim of this research is to examine the influence of peer social support on self-adjustment among adolescents at MAN 2 Gresik. This study employed a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis. The subjects consisted of 153 tenth-grade students at MAN 2 Gresik, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected offline using scales measuring social support and self-adjustment, both of which were adapted into the Indonesian language. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 26.0 for Windows. The results indicated a positive and significant influence of peer social support on self-adjustment, with a correlation coefficient of 0.303 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This means that the higher the level of peer social support received by students, the greater their level of self-adjustment.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital telah mengubah pola interaksi dan kebiasaan belajar mahasiswa, salah satunya dengan meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial yang dapat memicu perilaku cyberslacking. Perilaku ini sering kali dipicu oleh fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), yaitu kecemasan akan tertinggal dari informasi atau aktivitas sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara FoMO dan perilaku cyberslacking pada mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Partisipan berjumlah 221 mahasiswa aktif Universitas Negeri Surabaya yang rutin menggunakan perangkat digital. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner daring menggunakan skala On-FoMO dan skala cyberslacking yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS 27.0. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara FoMO dan cyberslacking dengan nilai pearson correlation 0,402 (p < 0,001). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat FoMO, semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan mahasiswa melakukan cyberslacking. Simpulan dari penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa FoMO merupakan faktor psikologis yang dapat memengaruhi perilaku digital non-akademik mahasiswa, sehingga intervensi berbasis regulasi diri dan literasi digital perlu dikembangkan untuk meminimalisasi dampak negatifnya dalam konteks akademik. Abstract The advancement of digital technology has changed the interaction patterns and learning habits of students, one of which is the increased use of social media which can trigger cyberslacking behavior. This behavior is often triggered by the Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) phenomenon, which is anxiety about being left out of information or social activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between FoMO and cyberslacking behavior in college students. The method used is quantitative correlation with purposive sampling technique. Participants totaled 221 active students of Surabaya State University who regularly use digital devices. Data collection was conducted through an online questionnaire using the On-FoMO scale and the cyberslacking scale which had been adapted into Indonesian. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the help of SPSS 27.0. The results of the analysis show that there is a positive and significant relationship between FoMO and cyberslacking with a pearson correlation value of 0.402 (p < 0.001). This finding shows that the higher the level of FoMO, the higher the tendency of students to do cyberslacking. The conclusion of this study indicates that FoMO is a psychological factor that can affect students' non-academic digital behavior, so interventions based on self-regulation and digital literacy need to be developed to minimize its negative impact in the academic context.

Abstract

Perkembangan media sosial memberikan ruang bagi individu pada masa emerging adulthood untuk mengekspresikan diri secara daring, salah satunya melalui penggunaan second account Instagram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-disclosure dan online identity reconstruction pada pengguna second account Instagram usia emerging adulthood. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sebanyak 386 responden dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) dan skala online identity reconstruction. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS versi 22.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi korelasi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kedua variabel. Nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,497 (r = 0,497) menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara self-disclosure dan online identity reconstruction berada pada kategori sedang dan bersifat positif. Individu yang menunjukan self-disclosure memiliki kecenderungan untuk melakukan rekonstruksi identitas secara daring dikarenakan kedua variabel tersebut memiliki hubungan yang positif dan signifikan. Abstract The development of social media has provided a space for individuals in the emerging adulthood stage to express themselves online, one of which is through the use of second Instagram accounts. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-disclosure and online identity reconstruction among emerging adults who use second Instagram accounts. A quantitative approach with a correlational method was employed. A total of 386 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) and the Online Identity Reconstruction Scale. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique with the assistance of SPSS version 22.0 for Windows. The results indicated a significant relationship between the two variables (p < 0.05), with a correlation coefficient of 0.497 (r = 0.497), indicating a moderate and positive correlation. This indicates that individuals who engage in self-disclosure are more likely to reconstruct their identities online, as there is a statistically significant and positive relationship between the two variables.

Abstract

Bumi Sebaloh berbatasan dengan kota Sarawak Malaysia. Ada beberapa isu yang kerap kali muncul di daerah perbatasan, mulai dari intoleransi, separatisme dan rendahnya rasa nasionalisme. Namun di Bumi Sebaloh masih rutin terselenggara tradisi gawai Dayak. Gawai Dayak merupakan festival tahunan di Kalimantan Barat yang menampilkan keragaman seni, budaya, dan tradisi suku Dayak. Tradisi ini merayakan kesuksesan panen dan merupakan wujud penghargaan kepada para leluhur serta keragaman budaya yang kaya dalam masyarakat Dayak. Tujuan dari peneliti ini yaitu mendeskripsikan bagaimana wujud pluralisme dalam perayaan Gawai Dayak, serta menjelaskan bagaimana suku lain memaknai perayaan Gawai Dayak, dan menganalisa mengapa gawai Dayak menjadi wujud pluralisme di Bumi Sebaloh. Metode pada penelitian ini menerapkan jenis penelitian fenomenologi yang merupakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara mendalam secara real time dengan tipe sampling intensitas dan purposeful acak. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pluralisme dalam perayaan gawai Dayak nampak pada saat persiapan, inti gawai hingga penutupan gawai. Rangkaian gawai Dayak melibatkan setiap suku untuk mengambil peran di dalamnya. Antar suku juga saling bertukar informasi hingga terjalin komunikasi yang semakin mempererat hubungan persaudaraan antar masyarakat di Bumi Sebaloh. Wujud pluralisme dalam perayaan Gawai Dayak di bumi Sebaloh tercermin dalam partisipasi aktif antar suku yang terlibat di dalamnya, komunikasi antar suku, dan memahami perbedaan bukan hanya sekedar toleransi. Namun dalam prosesnya penelitian ini juga terbatas hanya dilakukan di masyarakat Bumi Sebaloh dan perayaan gawai Dayak saja.
