Abstract

Abstract

The Surabaya Government developed the E-Peken to boost the MSME's performance. Unfortunately, negative user ratings show that the E-Peken program falls short of expectations and has several problems. Thus, this researchcreates solutions based on Android mobile applications to build a new User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) by Design Thinking Method. The study results in eight new and more aesthetically user-friendly innovation features:delivery information, payment methods, reviews and ratings, filters, helpdesk, chat between sellers and buyers, store registration, and product returns. The research used a straightforward User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ-S) to conduct UI/UX development success tests for 20 buyers and sellers of the E-Peken users, such as supportive (Q1) easy (Q2), efficient (Q3), clearness (Q4), exciting (Q5), interesting (Q6), empowerment (Q7), and leading edge (Q8) indicators. The E-Peken’s new appearance is far superior to its previous design by achieving excellent accreditation in terms of usage overall indicators. The exciting indicator (Q5) saw the biggest improvement, increasing by 57.9% (for seller) and 37% (for buyer). It causes sales to increase because the E-Peken is easier to use in business transactions.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine investor herding behavior in Indonesia’s capital market during distinct market conditions in 2023, specifically bullish and bearish periods. The analysis employs a quantitative research design, utilizing data from 504 publicly traded companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between late December 2022 and late December 2023. Research Design & Methods: The study employs the Cross-Sectional Absolute Deviation (CSAD) method and multiple regression analysis to investigate herding behavior across 119 bullish and 120 bearish trading days. Findings: The findings reveal no significant herding behavior during bullish markets, while substantial evidence of herding is observed in bearish market conditions. This suggests that investors tend to follow market sentiment rather than relying on independent decision-making during downturns. Implications and Recommendations: The observed behavior may be attributed to limited financial literacy and a lack of comprehensive understanding of market mechanisms. These results underscore the pressing need for targeted financial education initiatives to foster more rational investment behavior. Contribution & Value Added: The study contributes to the behavioral finance literature by providing empirical insights into market-specific herding tendencies in an emerging economy, underscoring the role of investor education in strengthening market stability and efficiency.

Abstract

Accurate determination of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is crucial in business management, particularly for micro and small enterprises that produce snacks and flower bouquets. The limited understanding of COGS calculation methods often hinders business development and the establishment of competitive selling prices. This program is designed to offer training for 16 female congregation members at the Gereja Kristen Indonesia Surabaya in systematically calculating COGS. The activity was conducted from December 1, 2024, to February 16, 2025. The training method includes theoretical presentations, interactive discussions, and simulations of COGS calculations based on raw material costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses. Additionally, participants were guided on determining reasonable profit margins to ensure their products remain competitive in the market. Overall, participants' average understanding improved from 1.763 in the pre-test to 4.200 in the post-test, reflecting a 138.23% increase. This result shows that the training provided has significantly increased participants' knowledge of COGS and its application in determining the selling price of products. This training is expected to have a positive impact on the sustainability of women's businesses at GKI Surabaya, increasing profitability and promoting economic independence. Similar programs could be expanded to include advanced topics such as marketing strategies and financial management, further supporting community-based economic growth.

Abstract

The current study compares the differences between Cumulative Abnormal Returns (CAR) and Cumulative Trading Volume Activity (CTVA) for publicly traded companies that execute stock splits in the year 2021 on the ASEAN Stock Exchange. According to estimates and timelines, businesses listed on the ASEAN Stock Exchange in 2021 are not permitted to take additional corporate action. There are 47 companies using the sampling exchange in the countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore. The data analysis methodology used by researchers is a different test through the Wilcoxon Rank Test. The first result from this study is that there is a difference in CAR before and after a stock split that is significant. In contrast, for the second result, there is no significant difference in the CTVA for the prior and subsequent stock split. Before the stock split happened, researchers discovered a bigger discrepancy in CAR. This shows that the market responded from time t-31 to time t-1. Due to a number of reasons, including the global influence of dominant data and patterns in investor behavior, there was no discernible difference in the CTVA.

Abstract

Abstract. The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the need for financial performance improvement, especially in Indonesia’s rapidly growing e-commerce sector. Manual processes are time-consuming and error-prone, making it difficult to reward productivity effectively. This study develops QuickPack, an Android Studio-based app to track packers in an online shop, enhancing efficiency through automation technology. Using the Waterfall model, Firebase, and Kotlin, QuickPack provides real-time performance tracking. Researchers applied qualitative methods, observing and interviewing packers, managers, and owners before and after implementation. The app offers features like user registration, receipt tracking, daily monitoring, performance reporting, and target setting. Results show a 63% financial performance boost and an 80-90% speed increase on peak days. QuickPack reduces labor costs, minimizes errors, improves productivity, and streamlines operations, lowering the need for additional staff. Monetization opportunities, such as premium tracking services, further enhance revenue. Improved security also mitigates fraud risks. Modernizing operations, QuickPack increases revenue, reduces financial risks, and enhances job satisfaction through transparent performance tracking. Successfully developed and tested, the app improves packing efficiency and strengthens financial performance for online shops. Abstract

The phenomena of online purchasing caused a rise in spending behavior. It was aided by the advancement of information technology, particularly the Internet. Electronic commerce creates an opportunity for numerous enterprises and consumers to respond by repurchasing products. An easy approach to get to the product, psychologically to follow the trend value, and a lower price from e-commerce would encourage customers to spend money to repurchase their favorite things. Based on that explanation, this research investigates the factors that drive the repurchase intention of online shoppers. The factors consist of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM), perceived convenience, and perceived value. The research’s sample was 188 respondents spreading online questionnaires in Indonesia. The findings reveal that perceived convenience and perceived value significantly affect the repurchase intention, yet electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) does not significantly affect the repurchase intention. In addition, perceived convenience significantly affects the perceived value, and the perceived value affects the electronic word of mouth significantly. The results emphasized the elements of spending behavior and would suggest the quality of the online platform should pay attention to it. So, the marketers will be able to make a reliable marketing approach to conduct the online business with compulsive buying by online shoppers.

Abstract

Financial satisfaction has changed since the Covid-19 pandemic since many people experience health problems, lose their jobs, until psychological disorders. This study aims to determine the factors driving income earners' financial satisfaction before and during the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia. The variables studied are religiosity, ethnicity, and health level related to financial activities. This research method uses a quantitative approach to estimate the factors that influence financial satisfaction using multiple linear regression and comparison tests between financial satisfaction before and during the Covid-19 outbreak. There are 159 respondents in this study. The research result shows that religiosity and the ethnic had no significant effect on financial satisfaction before and during the Covid-19 outbreak. Yet, the health level significantly impacted financial satisfaction before and during the Covid-19 outbreak. Health level is an essential factor so that a person can work very well to generate income and obtain financial satisfaction.
