Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objectives of research were (1) to find out the forms of modelling in Personality Competency of Civic Education teacher in SMP Negeri 1 Mojolaban, and (2) to find out the implication of Civic Education teacher?s modelling to creating the students? discipline character in SMP Negeri 1 Mojolaban.    This research employed a qualitative research approach, with descriptive qualitative research type. Data source derived from informant, place, event, and document. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling one. Techniques of collecting data used were interview, observation, and document analysis. Data validation was carried out using data and method triangulations. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model of analysis. Considering the result of research, the following conclusions could be drawn. (1) The forms of role model in personality competency of Civic Education teacher were as follows: The personality of a disciplined teacher, democratic, patient, tolerant, broad-insight teacher personalities. (2) The implication of Civic Education teachers to the creation of students? discipline character was as follows: the students could receive and imitate one of Civic Education teachers?  modelling, indicated with their coming early to classroom when the lesson began, students completing school attribute and uniform, students attending the lesson in the classroom and no truancy, students always attending flag ceremony, and maintaining the cleanliness at school. However, role model is the most decisive factor in creating the students? discipline; it could be seen from the students showing the discipline character only in the classroom Civic Education teachers class VII while the other teacher?s class had not shown the discipline character yet.   Keywords: Personality Competency, Civic Education, Modelling, Discipline                                   Character

Abstract

research produced strategy the Pancasila values reinforcement through the innovation of Civic Knowledge-, Civic Disposition-, and Civic Skill- Oriented Civic Education Learning. Such the strategy built on the renewal of existing content in Civic education course. The reinforcement strategy obtained by studying the conceptual theoretical framework in ontological hierarchy of Civic Education at College through studied object in which the ideal, instrumental and practical aspects were examined. In this research, the ideal aspect was the study on Civic Education regulation policy at College; instrumental aspect was the content of Civic Education at college, while practical aspect was the potential challenge or threat of the Pancasila values implementation in life, Pancasila values reinforcement in Civic Education, and Civic Education problems emerging at college. This research was conducted in both public and private college in Solo City with lecturers and students as the subject of research. This study was a descriptive philosophical qualitative This research. The data collection was conducted by interviewing the practitioners and lecturers relevant to the research, observing the lecturers and students in Civic Education learning process, studying the document relevant to Civic Education policy, and holding Focus Group Discussion with experts, lecturers and students. The data validation was done by improving the persistence of conducting research, triangulation, observation extension, discussion and theoretical study. The data obtained was then processed through reduction, analysis process and presented qualitatively. The conclusions of research were 1) the presence of potential challenge and threat against the implementation of Pancasila values in life deriving externally that was primordial in nature (ethnic, race, religion), externally by the presence of globalization development, the presence of external factor of western ideology affected both directly and indirectly the nation life. 2) The Pancasila values reinforcement strategies in Civic Education at college included renewing the content of Civic education by strengthening the Civic Education  core in each substance of study; thereby in its development, each substance of study was inspired by the Pancasila values philosophically. 3) The form of innovation or renewal for reinforcing the Pancasila values in Civic Education was the further extension of the Pancasila values reinforcement strategy in Civic Education course in the form of standard product, the substance of which was inspired by the Pancasila values as the core of Civic Education.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine whether or not there was an effect of education media video on the learning outcome of the 7th graders of SMP Negeri 2 of Gondangrejo in the school year of 2015/2016 in Basic Competency explaining the essence of freedom of speech. This study was a quantitative research with experimental method. Experimental method used was posttest only control design. The population of research was all of the 7th graders of SMP Negeri 2 of Gondangrejo consisting of 5 grades. The sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique, and 64 students were obtained as the sample divided equally (32 students for each class) into two classes: experiment and control. The data collection was carried out using documentation and observation techniques for data of education video media and objective test for data of students? learning outcome. Prerequisite test used was normality and homogeneity tests. Technique of analyzing data used was two-independent sample t test. Considering the result of research, the mean learning outcome of students was 82.5313 in experimental and 70.1563 in control classes. The result of t-test at significance level of 5% showed that tstatistic > ttable 4.632056 > 1.99897, thus Ho was not supported and Ha was not supported. It showed that there was a difference of learning outcome between experiment and control classes. The mean value showed that the learning outcome of students in experiment class was higher than that in control class. Considering the elaboration above, it could be concluded that there was an effect of education video media on the learning outcome of the 7th graders of SMP Negeri 2 of Gondangrejo in the school year of 2015/2016 in Basic Competency explaining the essence of freedom of speech.

Abstract

Islam is a guide for living that Moslems used not only as a religion--studies in the West, but it is also system that covers all aspects of human life. The universality of Islam as a religion and social system can be evidenced from the four aspects: metaphysical, religious, sociological and political aspect. As the faith of the monotheism of God in which is applied in very strong believe, Islam is a universal ideology that can not be equated with other ideology and religion. In relation with politics, Islam provides strong foundation. Nationalism is a small part of the political system of Islam. One figure who has harmonized between Islam and nationalism is Hasan Al-Banna, a charismatic contemporary scholar of Egypt. Through the establishment of Moslem Brotherhood, Al-Banna  becomes most important figure in the Islamic world a successful merge between thought and movement in a return Muslims to their believe.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out (1) the Civic Education teacher?s mastery of Information Technology and Communication (ICT)-based learning media in public junior high schools in Selogiri Sub District; (2) the Civic Education teacher?s awareness of using ICT-based learning media; (3) the attempt taken by headmaster to use the Civic Education teacher?s mastery in using ICT-based learning media; and (4) Civic Education teacher?s pedagogic competency viewed from the mastery of ICT-based learning media in Public Junior High School in Selogiri Sub District.This study employed a qualitative interactive method and qualitative descriptive approach with case study. The data source included informant, place, activity, document with purposive sampling. Techniques of collecting data were interview, observation, and documentation study. To validate the data, data and method triangulations were used. Considering the result of research were: (1) Civic Education teacher?s mastery of ICT-based learning media in public junior high schools in Selogiri Sub District was still low in which Civic Education teacher?s knowledge and ability of using computer, LCD, internet, various information and media, and of dealing with barrier or constraint in using ICT-based learning media were still limited; (2) the Civic Education teacher?s awareness of using ICT-based learning media was still low because the attempt of learning anything related to ICT-based learning media, there had been no personal willingness in using ICT-based learning media, and there had been no willingness and attempt of selecting the ICT-based learning media relevant to Civic Education. (3) The attempts taken by the headmaster to improve the Civic Education teacher?s mastery of ICT-based learning media were moderately and fairly good including providing infrastructure, holding training of ICT, giving moral support /advice/instruction/direction to Civic Education teacher in order to improve the mastery and the utilization of ICT. (4) Civic Education teacher?s pedagogic competency in Public Junior High Schools in Selogiri Sub District was still low viewed from the mastery of ICT-based learning media.

Abstract

The objectives of research were: 1) to describe the pedagogic competency of civic education?s teacher in building democratic intelligence among the 8th Graders of SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat, 2) to explain the factors supporting and inhibiting the Civic Education teacher in building democratic intelligence, and 3) to find out the effect of Civic Education teacher?s pedagogic competency in building democratic intelligence of the 8th Graders of SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat. This research employed a qualitative research. Considering the result of research, the following conclusions could be drawn. 1) Civic Education teacher?s pedagogic competency in building democratic intelligence was implemented through teaching-learning activity inside and outside classroom. Teacher?s pedagogic competency included understanding on students, designing the learning, implementing the learning, evaluating the learning and developing the students? potency. 2) The factors supporting Civic Education teacher?s pedagogic competency included school mission, learning time allocation, activity implemented by school, complete learning facility, teacher?s pedagogic competency, and student ability. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included: a) internal factors: students were still crowded in learning time and teacher sometimes focused only on transfer of knowledge, b) external factor: family environment and peer?s effect. 4) The effect of Civic Education teacher?s competency included: a) tolerance, respect and appreciating diversity, b) questioning and expressing opinion bravely, c) maintaining togetherness, and d) participating actively.
