Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to create and develop basic Japanese vocabulary learning media that can be used for independent learning. The learning media combines various kinds of design objects, namely text, images, animations, audio, video, and interactive buttons. Besides, the study also aims to determine the feasibility of this learning media. The study was conducted in the XI IPS Class of SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru and the XI IPS Class of SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru. This research was carried out by employing the ADDIE approach. The research object is learning media in the form of android applications. The research phases include (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. A questionnaire was used as a data collection technique that is analyzed descriptively. The study population consists of all students in the XI IPS Class of SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru and the XI IPS Class of SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru for the 2021-2022 academic year, with a sample of 25 students from each school. The study resulted in a learning media in the form of an android-based application for Japanese language learning. The assessment scores of feasibilities indicated that: (1) assessment of the material expert was “4.81” with very feasible category, (2) assessment of the media expert was “4” with feasible category, and (3) assessment of the response of students was “4.26” with a percentage of “86.1%”; hence it can be categorized as feasible. This study was conducted using a limited size sample. Conclusion: Android-based learning media for basic Japanese vocabulary is feasible to use in independent learning with some suggestions for future studies.Key Words : Japanese language learning Media, android based application.

Abstract

Abstract: One things that often happens to foreign language learners, is always bring their nature of the mother tongue to the second language they use, especially when speaking in a foreign language. In Japanese language there are loanwords that come from foreign languages, this loanword has been adapted to suit Japanese sounds and accent. Japanese language is a pitch accent language, the meaning of each word depends on the shape of accent pattern, as well as the phonetics. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing what phonetics and accent that learner use when pronounced gairaigo word. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, words spoken by 15 students of Japanese Language from Riau University. This study focuses on the pronunciation of loanwords from English, analyzed using a PRAAT device. The results is that students tend not to pronounce gairaigo word with Japanese sounds and accent. On phonetics, it is known that students tend not to pronounce words with the appropriate number of mora, not to pronounce obstructed nasal consonants [N], long vowels(cho’on), and consonant clusters (saku’on). On Accents, it is known that students tend to use Indonesian accents.Key Words: Pronunciation, loanword (gairaigo), phonetic, accent

Abstract

Abstract: This research discuss about contradiction and similarity of meaning of hazu da modality in Japanese language and seharusnya in bahasa. This research uses the Heiko Narrog (2019) and Hasan Alwi (1992) theory as the study of qualitative descriptive. This data research is discover from the news website with scrutinize, record, and note way the hazu da dan seharusnya sentences. The results show that the difference of meaning of hazu da modality and seharusnya modality, which mean the fervent assumption or conviction, only can clarify of one conclution by a powerful evidence basis, clarifying of the pronouncement by the speaker who have authority and have responsibility of what it discourse, to clarify the assumption which related to proper thing’s, to clarify the order to someone elses to do something, to clarify the order with the higest retiksion degree, and that clarification it must come from by it self. The similarity of meaning of hazu da modality and seharusnya modality is having the same meaning of withdrawal the clarified with the logical conclusion, the meaning to clarify of the pronouncement it linked with something was happened, clarify then the opinion and exactly the same that have no meaning to clarified of some prejudice.Key Words: Modality, Contradiction And Similarity, Mean

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the mastery of Hiragana letters in Japanese language learning for class X students of SMAN 9 Pekanbaru. In Japan there are 3 types of letters that must be learned, namely Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. In this case the researcher chose Hiragana letters because Hiragana letters are very different from the alphabet letters that we usually learn. The purpose of this study was to describe the mastery of Hiragana letters to class X students of SMAN 9 Pekanbaru. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research with descriptive method. The population in this study were students of class X SMAN 9 Pekanbaru, amounting to 65 people. The sample in this study were students of class X IPA 4 SMAN 9 Pekanbaru, totaling 30 people. The data of this research are students' test scores in mastering Hiragana letters in Japanese language learning. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the mastery of Hiragana characters in Japanese learning in general is in the "adequate" qualification with an average obtained of 68,8.Key Words: The mastery, Japanese Characters, the Hiragana Letters

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a quantitative descriptive study which aims to determine the difficulties learning by students of class XII Pharmacy 2 SMK Negeri Kesehatan and Pariwisata Bangkinang in learning Japanese. The population in this study were all students of class XII Pharmacy 2 which amounted to 40 students, while the sample in this study amounted to 20 students. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysys showed that students of class XII Pharmachy 2 had difficulty in reading and writing hiragana and hiragana, difficulty in writing sentence in Japanese, difficulty in asking and confirming ownership of objects, difficulty in borrowing and lending stationery in Japanese.Key Word: Learning difficulty, Japanese

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the ability of students to pronounce Japanese vocabulary containing long sounds (chouon). This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with the research instrument in the form of a pronunciation test. The sample in this study was the class of 2020 students of the Riau University Japanese language education study program, with a total of 10 people using the random choice technique. The data in this study were recordings of long sounds (chouon) and analysed using the Praat application. It was found that the students' pronunciation of long-sounding vocabulary (chouon) tended to be good at the beginning and less so at the end.Key Words: Pronuncation, Long Vowel, Student

Abstract

Abstract: This study contains the analysis of writing errors of katakana in students of the Japanese language education study program. The problem that will be discussed in this study is the cause of writing errors in katakana. The purpose of this study is to describe the causes of writing errors in katakana. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data sources used in this study are the Class of 2020 students, totaling 27 people and the data obtained by 6 students. Data collection technique in this research is interview. The data analysis technique is described based on the Shah's theory. From the results of interview research, it was found that motivation and interest in studying katakana were the cause of the writer's error.Key Word: Analysis, katakana.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the comparison of Japanese language learning achievement between students who undergo offline learning and online learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of Japanese language learning achievement. The method used in this research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. This study takes data from student achievement results in the 2019 odd semester and 2018 class in the 2020 odd semester. The results of this study indicate that of the 4 courses, 2 of them have the same learning achievement between offline learning and online learning. While the other 2 courses have significant differences between offline learning and online learning, where student learning achievement when learning online is better than when learning offline..Key Words: Comparison, Learning Achievements, Offline Learning, Online Learning,Japanese Laguange

Abstract

Abstract: In learning a foreign language, especially in this case is Japanese, every student must have an interest in learning so that they have a strong motivation in learning. Interest in this can be obtained starting from a person's interest in a culture, or even the language itself. At the university level, students who study Japanese have ways to learn Japanese pop culture itself, starting from self-study such as watching youtube videos, anime, just reading news or articles about the culture, and there are also students who study in class. The method of data collection is done by distributing tests and questionnaires that have been made, in the form of a collection of questions to obtain information that is considered representative with the aim of obtaining the information needed in this study. By using a sample of 50 people from 5 batches of Japanese Language Education FKIP Riau University. From the results of the study, it was found that knowledge of pop culture on student motivation has a strong correlation, it also has a positive and significant relationship where knowledge of pop culture on motivation of 50 students is 49.4%.Key Words: Pop culture, Learning motivation, Correlation

Abstract

Abstract: Difficulty in learning evaluation is a problem felt by students when taking a test or exam that is followed, both internally. This study discusses the difficuslties faced by the 2017& 2018 student of the Japanese Language Education Study Program Fkip Riau University at JLPT. The purpose of this study was to find out what difficulties were faced by students when participsting in the JLPT in 2019. The method used in this study was qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that 2017 & 2018 student have difficulty in internal factors, namely the dokkai and kanji sections. This is due to a lack of mastery of vocabulary, bunpou, and kanji material. In addition, external factors have no influence at all on the difficulties faced by students of the 2017 & 2018 batch of the Japanese Language Education Study Program, FKIP, Riau University at JLPT.Key Words: Error analysis, accent, intonation
