Abstract

The objective of this research is to meticulously investigate the model of character education implementation by the use of integrated approach during the course at Islamic Education in the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang. It focuses on three points encompassing religious, self-personality and social characters that were developed in the learning and teaching process. By purposively selecting the analytical-critical-descriptive approach, the research data were qualitatively obtained by interviews, observations and documentations. The findings reveal three main aspects. The first is a model of religious character that is constructed by thoyyibah texts (basmallah and hamdalah), reciting al Quran, prayers, and dzikr as the manifestation of pious values and beliefs to Allah. The second point is self-personality model as the character construction that is instilled through the familiarization of discipline, sincerity and responsibility during the courses that involve learning process, instructional practice and learning evaluation. The third is the construction of social characters including tolerance, social respects and real democracy in learning system.

Abstract

Beside as a faith, religion is the absolute and universal sources of spirit and value. As a spirit and value, religion could be used as teh ethic fremes for delvelop of the power morality and civil society. Most Moslem scholars said that religion is the ethic frame to solve thr social problems. This article tends to discuss a bout power morality and civil society in the sight of religious values. Since as a value laded, religion must could be understand as the life-principles, include as apower and social system. Reflection which rise from religious society is the shaping of power legality and civil society.

Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to explore the implementation of community-based education (CBE) in the village of Desa Karang Pandan, Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The CBE was conducted in order to educate the community members in information technology, Arabic language, Quran reading, Boyscout activities, and indigenous martial arts. Apart from that, the CBE was implemented to address specific communal issues, such as lack of self-efficacy, sense of mattering, and general well-being of the community members. Data was collected through observations and interviews along the CBE program, and analyzed by utilizing thematic analysis methods. Positive responses were shown in the interview results. They were represented by the frequent occurrences of themes such as improvement of mattering and self-efficacy, higher motivation to learn and the development of general well-being. Nevertheless, it is possible that the positive responses from the community members were caused by the novelty effect of the program. Further concerns and limitations are discussed in the end of this paper.

Abstract

Teaching supervision is always required to improve the quality of teaching and learning processes in schools or madrasah. Actually, supervision activities is creating a vehicle for supervisors and teachers to exchange ideas, sharing knowledge and sharing experiences. This article critically examines the concept, characters and rational teaching supervision in SWOT analysis review. Supervision aims to teach teachers how to guidance which includes; purposes, materials, techniques, methods, approaches, environment and so on. Based on the SWOT analysis, supervision can create opportunities and power through the; development activities need to be encouraged more intensive and structured, reach the opportunities that exist from government policy programs, following the guidance activities in order to improve their skills. Schools can establish cooperation with related agencies for the development of professional skills of teachers, follow the teachings and training to increase insight and knowledge that are relevant to the task of teaching. Meanwhile, anticipation of the challenges and weaknesses, through; establish cooperation with other agencies to provide the opportunity for teachers to get further guidance, engage the teacher in the whole competence development (intellectual, emotional and spiritual) for human resources through the formal and nonformal, development of school facilities and infrastructure that are refer to the main and supporting principles of effectiveness, development of human resources recruitment system based on the competence and professionalism of the school (merit based system), the development of a reward system and punishment to create a healthy culture and the competition for teachers, and increasing self exemplary which is started from the teachers.

Abstract

Today many educational institutions in Indonesia which is developing a superior education system, including institutions of Islamic education. Islamic schools or madrasah are the flagship of Islamic educational institutions that create superior organizational culture and climate and effective. Development of pre-eminent organization of Islamic schools seem reflected in human resources (teachers, staff, and students) facilities, as well as other supporting facilities to produce graduates who are intellectually astute, have a certain spiritual sturdy. This paper has produced a review and new view on the development of madrasah and Islamic schools of excellence. To develop the pre-eminent Islamic schools or madrasah, are needed: (1) carrying capacity of an effective and functional, such as a superior human resources, facilities and infrastructure (classrooms representative, libraries and laboratories), support facilities (boarding, mosque). (2) Careful planning and mature designed in accordance with the vision, mission and objectives of the institutional school, requires analyzing the needs of academic and institutional systems, and understand the geographical and cultural context. (3) Building a shared commitment, and build mind set collectively, always give priority to continuous innovation, and utilizing information technology as an effective learning resource.

Abstract

Studies on the unreadiness of educational stakeholders to face the abrupt requirement of online learning amidst the pandemic were usually conducted among the urban participants with highly available access to the internet and well-developed online social habit. Such population tend to fall into Westernized, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic (WEIRD) bias population, even in Asian countries. Therefore, their results tend to report problems faced by the aforementioned population. In this current study, we attempt to fill in the population gap by exploring the transformational leadership among school principals in rural area of Malang, East Java, Indonesia. There were five leaders of schools’ setup by different religious affiliations in the community interviewed. After the thematic analyses, the results confirmed that the online learning policy exposed our participants to different problems from the ones faced by the urban population, and therefore they have taken different measures in order to sustain their educational services. Actions such as interschool collaborations, interschool students grouping, and interschool teacher-sharing were introduced to us by these rural school principals, along with the spirit of unity in their diversity. Further exploration and suggestions are discussed in the article.

Abstract

Researchers are interested in using audio-visual media to improve student learning outcomes. The problem raised in this research is whether the use of audio visual media can improve student learning outcomes in PAI subjects in Class IV of SD Negeri Karanggintung 02, Gandrungmangu District. This research uses a classroom action research design. This research procedure consisted of two learning cycles. Data collection techniques were carried out using test and observation techniques. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this research reveal that the use of audio-visual media can improve student learning outcomes in PAI subjects in class IV of SD Negeri Karanggintung 02, Gandrungmangu District. This is based on the results of learning evaluations which show an increase in student learning outcomes from one cycle to the next. Before implementing the action, the average student score was 69.25 with a completion percentage of 70%, but after implementing the action in cycle I the average student score increased to 74.40 and the percentage of learning completion also increased to 85% of all students. In cycle II the students' average score was 76.50 and the percentage of learning completion reached 100%. This achievement has exceeded the research performance indicator, namely "75% of students experienced learning completion" so it can be concluded that the research hypothesis can be accepted, which means that the use of audio-visual media can improve student learning outcomes in PAI subjects in class IV of SD Negeri Karanggintung 02, Gandrungmangu District. Abstrak Peneliti tertarik untuk menggunakan media audio visual untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Masalah yang dikemukakan dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah penggunaan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI di Kelas IV SD Negeri Karanggintung 02 Kecamatan Gandrungmangu. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur penelitian ini dilaksanakan terdiri dari dua siklus pembelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik tes dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajara PAI di kelas IV SD Negeri Karanggintung 02 Kecamatan Gandrungmangu. Hal itu berdasarkan hasil evaluasi belajar yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari satu siklus ke siklus berikutnya. Sebelum pelaksanaan tindakan, nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 69,25 dengan persentasee ketuntasan sebesar 70%, namun setelah pelaksanaan tindakan pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 74,40 dan persentase ketuntasan belajar juga meningkat menjadi 85% dari keseluruhan siswa. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa menjadi 76,50 dan persentase ketuntasan belajar mencapai 100%. Pencapaian tersebut, telah melampaui indikator kinerja penelitian yaitu “75% siswa mengalami ketuntasan belajar” sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian dapatditerima yang artinya penggunaan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI di kelas IV SD Negeri Karanggintung 02 Kecamatan Gandrungmangu

Abstract

Belakangan ini, moralitas terhadap Tuhan dan manusia mulai menurun. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan banyaknya berita terkait keseharian masyarakat yang menyimpang dari ajaran agama dan norma sosial, sehingga karena perbedaan menjadi pemicu kekerasan dan pembulian. Tujuan penelitian ini sebagai sebuah solusi bagi seseorang yang belum bisa mengendalikan dan menempatkan diri dengan memahami konsep etika Ibnu Miskawaih dan implementasinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka, dengan pendekatan historis-kritis. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan pemikiran etika Ibnu Miskawaih didasarkan pada pandangan tentang jiwa manusia. Tempat dimana seseorang pertama kali mengenal jiwanya dengan menyucikannya dari penyakit hati, dusta, dengki dan cinta berlebihan terhadap dunia. Penyakit hati dan penyucian jiwa bisa dicapai dengan belajar untuk selalu  banyak beramal, menjauhi teman-teman yang serakah, hidup sederhana, belajar tentang agama dan mawas diri. Seseorang juga tidak boleh mempunyai ekstrim kelebihan dan ekstrim kekurangan, sehingga wajib memposisikan di tengah. Implementasi pemaknaan diri di lingkungan sosial dapat dilakukan dengan membersihkan hati, kemudian membiasakan diri berbuat baik sehingga nantinya menjadi kebiasaan yang mengarah pada kesehatan ilahi. Puncaknya adalah mampu berbuat baik secara langsung tanpa berpikir karena sudah menjadi kebiasaan untuk berbuat baik kepada siapapun walau berbeda keyakinan atau suku hinga negara. Penelitian  ini  memberikan  wawasan  tentang  kontribusi  pemikiran Ibnu Miskawaih  dalam pemaknaan diri di lingkungan sosial.   Recently, morality towards God and man has begun to decline. This is evidenced by the many news related to people's daily lives that deviate from religious teachings and social norms, so that differences trigger violence and bullying. The purpose of this research is as a solution for someone who has not been able to control and position themselves by understanding the concept of Ibn Miskawaih's ethics and its implementation. The research method used is literature study, with a historical-critical approach. The findings of the study show that Ibn Miskawaih's ethical thinking is based on a view of the human soul. A place where a person first knows his soul by purifying it from liver disease, lies, envy and excessive love of the world. Liver disease and purification of the soul can be achieved by learning to always do a lot of charity, stay away from greedy friends, live simply, learn about religion and introspection. One should also not have extreme advantages and extreme disadvantages, so it is mandatory to position in the middle. The implementation of self-meaning in the social environment can be done by cleansing the heart, then getting used to doing good so that later it becomes a habit that leads to divine health. The peak is being able to do good directly without thinking because it has become a habit to do good to anyone regardless of beliefs or tribes to countries. This research provides insight into the contribution of Ibn Miskawaih's thought in self-meaning in the social environment.

Abstract

Interreligious harmony has begun since the Abbasid era which continued with the Mughal period to the Sriwijaya kingdom in the 13th century. Some of the histories among the tense moments that have occurred at that time are such as the crusades, the Protestant Reformation, the division of India, and the Rwandan genocide. The purpose of this article is to provide readers with an overview of how to understand the role of religion in society. Then this article also provides readers with an overview of what are the factors that cause conflicts in the political and economic fields. And this article also provides an overview to readers about things that can affect the social and economic structure of society. The research method used in this article is the library research method, where the method is used by looking for sources in the form of books, journals, and other scientific works to be used as reference materials or references in this article. This article provides insight into the role of religion in shaping social identities and values, the factors that cause conflict, and its impact on social and economic structures.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the many cases of Intolerance, violence, riots, terror against religious leaders, hoax news, hate speech, provocative issues, in the name of religion, being a source of hostility both between people and groups. This research aims to discuss the concept of religious moderation of Sunan Kudus and its implementation. The study used is a type of literature with a descriptive analysis approach. The results show that Sunan Kudus teaches religious moderation in da'wah and his daily journey by adjusting most people's beliefs. Sunan Kudus also teaches respect and the absence of violence, but harmony. The correlation with the modern era is that it does not interfere with or be hostile to different people. Religion teaches many values to coexist, as Sunan Kudus's message. Even traditions that exist to this day, such as gusjigang in the holy society, teach to have good morals, trade honestly, and respect fellow human beings even though they are different and enjoy togetherness by helping each other instead of following the teachings of jihad and terrorism that are hostile to others.
