Abstract

The construction of the MERR II-C highway is a series of projects in the Surabaya City Government connecting Gunung Anyarto Juanda. The impact of road construction is the splitting of the densely populated of kampong Gunung Anyar. The characteristics of the kampong penetrated by the road construction are formal and informal kampong. The sporadic character of the informal kampong is clearly visible from the debris of the remaining buildings, while the kampong formal is also visible from the neatly arranged character. At this time the character of the building trying to find identity because the character of informal kampong can still be detected but the influence of trade and service functions in MERR II-A and MERR II-B have begun to be seen. So that this research is considered important to determine the character of the building that appears the impact of the construction of the road MERR II-C. In mapping the character of the building using the place making approach, so it can know the building's character. The results showed that the character of the building formed was the character of commercial, service and residential buildings. Many new commercial buildings are found which are modifications between residential and commercial. Meanwhile a new communal space appeared to replace the communal space that had been lost.

Abstract

The basic concepts of use and image introduced by Romo Mangun became the basis for harmonization in architecture that collaborated contextually with gatra elements. The phenomenon that occurs at this time is that many architectures are oriented to the image aspect, one of which is the emergence of thematic villages that have been transformed into tourist areas. It's like an oasis in the hustle and bustle of city life. The beautification carried out focuses on the physical aspect (image), the local character of the urban village is removed. Colorful thematic village in Malang City, the image aspect is more highlighted, while the use aspect is still questionable. The new facilities that have sprung up seem to eliminate the character of the urban village which is synonymous with heterogeneity. In this study, attempts to explore colorful villages with an image and use approach, because the village is identical with various kinds of problems that can be solved by architecture. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. It is hoped that this research will be able to provide an illustration that in architecture it is not only emphasized on the image aspect but also with the use aspect.

Abstract

Kalanganyar Village is a coastal village located on the coast of Sidoarjo Regency. Like other coastal villages, Kalanganyar Village carries a special coastal character both in the livelihood sector, land use sector, potential natural disaster sector, and socio-economic sector. Several studies show that the socioeconomic conditions of coastal communities live below the poverty line, while the lives of coastal communities depend a lot on land use in coastal areas (ponds and sea). Clasification and phenomena of coastal areas are strongly defined by the spatial character of the coast which is located on the boundary of land and sea. Therefore, this study intends to look at the economic condition of the coastal community of Kalanganyar Village by analyzing the spatial conditions of the area. Researchers will observe how the development of the economic area of Kalanganyar Village from time to time spatially. The spatial data obtained will be analyzed by taking into account the existing condition of infrastructure, potential disasters, and the existing condition of livelihood diversification of the residents of Kalanganyar Village. From the results of the analysis, it was found that infrastructure development also contributed to the development of the economic area of Kalanganyar Village. The results of historical observations of the development of the region show stagnant development due to the cessation of infrastructure development in the Kalanganyar Village area, so that the people of Kalanganyar Village cannot create diversification of employment opportunities in their region.

Abstract

A space in architecture always has a different representation and meaning, according to what the architect who designed the space of an architecture wanted to convey. Along with the development of the world, architecture has also undergone several changes. These changes require the Architect to follow the demands of the market without considering other elements in the architecture, one of which is the element of metaphysics. Which is one of the important elements in architecture. As stated by Lorens Bagus 1996, "Contemplation in metaphysics is the appreciation of thoughts for thoughts that bring happiness, which is obtained through the actualization of the individual's highest ability, namely reason". And in its changes, architecture begins to lose the representation and meaning of a space that is formed from the architectural process. This limits the space for the architects to represent the meaning of their work. In fact, as we know that the representation and meaning of space is the way the architect communicates with its users indirectly and can restore the architect's image as an expression of himself. In the process of making this journal, we used data collection methods from various sources.

Abstract

Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini mengajarkan hal-hal dasar yang menjadi bekal anak seperti kemandirian dan adaptasi dengan lingkungan. Kegiatan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan mengemas materi pembelajaran secara fun dan playfull sesuai dengan kebutuhan pendidikan pada usia dini. Sejalan dengan kegiatan pembelajaran yang ada, pengenalan local wisdom pada anak kerap menjadi fokus utama beberapa tahun terakhir. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman anak terhadap lingkungan serta memupuk rasa cinta tanah air. Dalam hal tersebut lingkungan kelas yang menunjang pembelajaran memiliki peranan penting terhadap keberlangsungan kegiatan belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penerapan konsep local wisdom pada desain interior kelas. Studi kasus yang dijadikan topik pada penelitian ini adalah PAUD Teratai, yang terletak di kawasan pesisir Desa Bhinor. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan mengadaptasi metode design thinking. Hasil penelitian ini berupa gagasan kreatif desain interior ruang kelas dengan mengusung konsep local wisdom sebagai konsep utama. Gagasan kreatif tersebut berupa desain elemen dinding dan alternatif desain furnitur untuk mendukung pembelajaran anak usia dini. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam mendesain ruang kelas yang mengadaptasi local wisdom, khususnya di kawasan pesisir.
