Abstract

The purpose of this study is to boost social skills by implement the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model. This research is a Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The subjects of this study were grade 4th students in SD Negeri 2 Karangasem Surakarta in the academic year 2019/2020, amounting to 31 students. This study uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation with data analysis of content validity and triangulation. Analysis of the data used is the Miles-Huberman interactive analysis model. The first cycle produces a percentage of 61.29% classically, and the study continues with the second cycle with a percentage of 80,64% classically. Based on the results obtained , it can be concluded that social skills in students of SD Negeri 2 Karangasem Surakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year could be upgraded with Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve the understanding of the concept of the change of object form on the fourth grade students of State Elementary School Tlogorandu 01 Klaten in academic year 2016/2017 by applying the learning model of Treffinger. This research is in the form of Classroom Action Reseach (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps: (1) planning; (2) action phase; (3) observation; and (4) reflection. The subjects of study were teacher and students of fourth grade students of State Elementary School Tlogorandu 01 Klaten in the academic year 2016/ 2017 consisting of 30 students. The data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and tests. The data validity was triangulation of resources and triangulation of technique. The data analyzed technique used interactive analysis model which consists of three basic phases are: data reduction, data display, and taking the conclusion or verification. The result of the research shows that the average value of the class on pre cycle is was 56,00; then in the first cycle the average grade increased to 66,25; and in the second cycle the average grade increased to 79,17. Before the action of research, students who acquired more than or equal to 70 were 7 students (23,33%), first cycle the number of the students increased to 15 (50%), and the second cycle the number of the students increased again became 26 students (86,67%). Based on the result finding above, it can be concluded that the application of the learning model of Treffinger can improve the understanding of the concept of the change of object form for students in fourth grade students of State Elementary School Tlogorandu 01 Klaten in the academic year2016/ 2017.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical learning difficulties in solving word problems involving arithmetic operations on whole numbers based on Polya’s problem- solving framework. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Jajar Surakarta using a descriptive qualitative approach. Subjects involved in this research were selected from students in class IV of the 2024/2025 academic year through purposive sampling. Data were collected through tests and interviews, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique, and processed through a triangulation of time and technique to ensure their validity. The results show that students encountered challenges in all of Polya’s methods. Students struggled to read carefully and note the significant information in understanding the problem. In devising a plan, students faced difficulties in identifying problem types and translating certain words, such as “Each,” “Dozen,” and “Gross.”. Students had difficulties in sequential calculations and were unable to master basic multiplication and division while carrying out the plan. In the final step, students were incapable of evaluating the results or pointing out alternative methods to solve the problem.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between scientific attitudes and experimental skills on science learning outcomes. This study was conducted on fifth-grade students at SDN in Laweyan District in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sampling technique used was probability sampling of the cluster random sampling type, employing observation sheets and multiple-choice questions as instruments. Hypothesis testing was conducted using a multiple correlation test to determine the relationship between the three variables. The results showed a correlation coefficient of 0.293 > 0.195, indicating a low-level relationship category, with a correlation between experimental skills and science learning outcomes for fifth-grade students. with a correlation coefficient of 0.513 > 0.195, indicating a moderate level of relationship, and there is a relationship between scientific attitude and experimental skills on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students, with a correlation coefficient of 0.603 > 0.195, indicating a strong level of relationship.

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) describe the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with comic media to enhance problem-solving skills in fraction story problems; 2) improve problem-solving skills in fraction story problems through the PBL instructional model. This research used a Classroom Action Research methodods. The subjects were teachers and 34 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. Data validity was using triangulation. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis. The result showed that the average problem-solving skill score increased in each cycle. In the pre-action phase, it was 66,76, in cycle 1 it was 75,15, and it became 87,74 in cycle 2. Classical completeness also increased, from 41% in the pre-action phase to 53% in cycle 1, and 88% in cycle 2. The study concluded that: 1) the PBL model assisted by comic media was effectively imlemented; 2) the problem-solving skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Jajar Surakarta improved using the model and media. Theoretical implications provided information using PBL models with comic media in teaching mathematical. Practical implications showed that applying PBL with comic media was effective and had a positive impact. This study can be a reference for other researchers.
