Abstract

The purpose of the community service program for the KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) scheme is to organize health education during the Covid-19 pandemic and make efforts to increase body immunity in the context of preventing Covid-19 in RT 10 RW 03 Gebang Hamlet, Kedinding Village, Tarik District. There are 3 methods of community service activity program, namely: 1) making and distributing herbal herbs, 2) distributing masks, and 3) making videos about how to make hand sanitizers. This community service can have an impact in the form of increasing partner knowledge regarding Covid-19, how to make turmeric herbs, the importance of maintaining distance, and wearing masks.

Abstract

The selected KKNT-KWU UMAHA partner is the traditional drink business "Sinom Si Manies Cak Endut" which was founded five years ago and is located on Jl. Raya Semambung No. 409 Lopang Hamlet, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency. The partner's problems include the following: sinom products are only marketed by word of mouth, and through social media, sinom production is only carried out according to consumer demand. This KKNT-KWU UMAHA activity aims to help overcome partner problems in marketing using social media "Instagram". KKNT-KWU UMAHA activities include observation and discussion with partners to analyze the problems experienced by partners, assistance to partners to start marketing products through social media "Instagram" and assistance to partners to make Instagram feeds to be more attractive and modern to attract the attention of social media users "Instagram". The KKNT-KWU UMAHA activities result in partners having excellent and attractive product photos. In addition, the KKNT-KWU UMAHA activities are able to improve the MSME management process so that there is an increase in turnover and quality of partner products.

Abstract

Jamu adalah obat tradisional berbahan alami warisan budaya yang telah diwariskan secara turun-temurun dari generasi ke generasi untuk kesehatan. Salah satu industri rumah tangga yang saat ini masih memproduksi jamu tradisional adalah Jamu Mbak Konik yang sudah beridiri sejak tahun 1990-an. Jamu mbak konik masih diproduksi secara tradisional dan pengemasannya masih seadanya. Tujuan kegiatan KKNT-KWU UMAHA ini adalah untuk membantu Ibu Eni selaku pemilik usaha dalam meningkatkan produksi baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas. Metode yang dilakukan pada program KKNT-KWU UMAHA ini adalah metode kualitatif, survey, edukasi dan diskusi serta pendampingan dalam mencapai tujuan tersebut. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah jamu Mbak Konik dapat memiliki NIB, brand, logo, dan pembukuan keuangan. Selain itu, pemasaran yang dilakukan mitra lebih luas menggunakan media sosial.

Abstract

Masalah kesehatan yang saat ini sedang meningkat jumlah penderitanya yaitu penyakit degeneratif yang merupakann penyakit tidak menular yang dapat mempengaruhi produktivitas seseorang dan sebagian besar penderita baru melakukan pemeriksaan ketika timbul gejala. WHO memperkirakan pada tahun 2020 penyakit tidak menular mengakibatkan 73% kematian. Selain itu, juga terdapat permasalahan berupa kejadian stunting yang menjadi permasalahan terutama ke depan akan berpengaruh kepada kualitas sumber daya manusia. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian di wilayah kelurahan Panjunan, Sukodono dilaksankan dengan melakukan penyuluhan dan pemeriksaan gratis untuk gula darah, kolesterol dan asam urat. Penyuluhan dilakukan degan tema stunting yang akan dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan darah dan urin lengkap. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pembekalan pengetahuan bagi masyarakat dan deteksi dini adanya penyakit degeneratif pada warga kelurahan Panjunan, Sukodono, melalui pemeriksaan darah dan urin lengkap

Abstract

Metal selenium (Se) has long been identified as a toxic element. In addition, the presence of lead metal (Pb) in waters is harmful both directly to the life of organisms and its effects indirectly on human health. Further, Zn metal can cause system dysfunction resulting in decreased growth and reproduction. This study aims to analyze Se, Pb, and Zan on well water around the Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency. The method used in this study is the AAS method at 196 nm for measuring Se levels, 283.3 nm for measuring Pb levels, and 213.9 nm for measuring Zn levels. 0.013; and 0.002mg/L (well water A) and 0.002; 0.013; and 0.002 mg/L (well water B). The Se, Pb, and Zn levels still meet the quality standards (maximum content) of chemical parameters.

Abstract

Free radicals are unstable molecules or chemical fragments with one or more unpaired electrons that can cause organ damage, resulting in chronic and degenerative disorders. Antioxidant substances can reduce the effects of free radicals. Chinese teak (Senna alexandrina) leaves, which include flavonoids and phenols, are one source of natural antioxidants. The purpose of this study is to extract Chinese teak leaf powder with ethanol and measure the levels of flavonoids and total phenolics. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity of an ethanol extract of Chinese teak leaves was investigated. After soaking Chinese teak leaf powder in ethanol, the filtrate is condensed using a rotary evaporator. Total phenolic and flavonoid levels are measured using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) technique is used to determine antioxidant activity. The yield of the ethanol extract of Chinese teak leaves was 3.3%, with flavonoids and total phenolics values of 7.94 mg QE/g and 7.9 mg GAE/g, respectively. Each test solution demonstrated antioxidant activity of 20, 40, 80, and 100 mg/L, with the greatest activity at 100 mg/L having a percent inhibition value of 83%.

Abstract

Branding dalam konteks pendidikan adalah suatu upaya untuk menciptakan citra dan identitas yang kuat bagi lembaga pendidikan, seperti sekolah, perguruan tinggi, atau universitas. Branding sekolah dapat dilakukan dengan cara membuat website sekolah. Survey tim pelaksana pengabdian masyarakat dengan mitra memperlihatkan bahwa mitra belum mempunyai website sekolah. Tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan dalam pengelolaan website sekolah di MTs Al Ulum Dadapan Wajak Malang. Beberapa tahapan PkM ini meliputi: analisis kebutuhan mitra sekolah, pemesanan domain dan hosting website sekolah, pembuatan website sekolah, dan pendampingan pengelolaan website sekolah. Kegiatan PkM tersebut menghasilkan website https://mtsalulumdadapan.sch.id. Mitra juga dapat melakukan pengelolaan website dengan baik terbukti dengan tampilan website yang elegan dan menarik.

Abstract

Open Journal System (OJS) merupakan website dengan akses terbuka dan lebih mudah digunakan oleh para peneliti, penulis, editor ataupun reviewer. Sistem yang menggunakan teknologi informasi terbaru ini memang awalnya sedikit kaku karena banyak yang belum mengerti bagaimana cara mengoperasikannya. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalaah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada tim pengelola Jurnal SainHealth FIKES UMAHA. Kegiatan tersebut diselenggarakan selama satu hari menggunakan beberapa prosedur, meliputi: ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik, pendampingan dan tanya jawab. Materi dalam pelatihan tersebut adalah: peningkatan tata kelola OJS Jurnal SainHealth, demonstrasi, praktik tata kelola OJS secara sistematis dan mengacu pada modul. Kegiatan tersebut terselenggara dengan lancar dan dapat memberikan wawasan dan pengalaman baik kepada para tim pengelola jurnal FIKES UMAHA tentang cara mengoperasikan OJS.

Abstract

Many local plants in Indonesia were used as traditional medicines, such as sunflower (Helianthus annuus) and anting-anting (Acalypha indica Linn) plants. Both of them can be used as an antimalarial, antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, and antihyperlipidemic. This study aims to provide an overview of the secondary metabolites groups contained in sunflower leaf and anting-anting plants for the testing of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids/triterpenoids, and sesquiterpenoids. This study included the extraction of sunflower leaves and anting-anting plants separately using the maceration method for 24 hours with 80% ethanol solvent. The stirring was aided by a shaker for three hours. Each extract was tested by phytochemicals with reagents. The results of phytochemical tests with reagents showed that 80% ethanol extract of sunflower leaves contained an alkaloid, tannin, steroid, and sesquiterpenoid compounds whereas anting-anting plants contained an alkaloid, flavonoid, and triterpenoid compounds.

Abstract

Hydrargyrum (familiar as mercury) is a persistent transition metal element. They are known as bio-accumulative properties that are dangerous to the environment and has serious damaging effects on biota, including genetic changes or mutagenesis. Moreover, it can accumulate indirectly in the human body due to the consumption of products that have contaminated. Whereas, ellagic acid has reported as one of 13 flavonoid compounds that have potential as an anti-mutagen and anti-cancer in the walnuts seeds. This study was aimed to ensure the potential extent of ellagic acid extracts in walnut seeds to reducing and repairing the genotoxicity effects of mercury. Therefore, using the experimental method, this study was divided into several test treatments. Two controls treatment as a comparison of the presence of micronucleus with group tests that given a 20 ppm mercury dosage. Then continued with the addition of walnut seed extract with various dosage (10, 15, and 20 ppm) by oral injection continuously for two weeks as a recovery process to reducing and repairing the genotoxicity effect of mercury. The significant results showed that there are differences between pre and post-treatment. It indicated that the extract has the potential for improving and reducing the genotoxicity effect of mercury. The data were evaluated and obtained the total micronucleus from the smear of peripheral blood of mice by comparing the total micronucleus before and after giving of walnut extract.
