Abstract

The influence of natural feed alternative on the growth of sand goby, Oxyeleotris marmorata (Blkr.), in hapa nets were evaluated in this research. This research purposed to determine shrimp trash and fish trash towards specific growth rate, daily length growth rate and daily feed in take for sand goby. This research was carried out at the Teluk Dalam villages, district of  Indragiri Hilir. Completely randomized design was used in this research with two treatments: fish trash and shrimp trash with three replications. The fish were fed of 30% (wet weight based) of total body weight in two time of feeding (10:00, 14:00 WIB) with ad libitum. The amount of feed was adjusted every 14 days with sampling. Provision ofnatural feed alternative has an influence on the specific growth rate, daily length growth rate and daily feed  in take. The sand goby feeding with fish trash showed better specific growth rate and daily length growth rate than those shrimp trash. Daily feed intake with shrimp trash better than those fish trash.These results indicate that the trash fish have a higher nutrient content than those shrimp trash that used during the study

Abstract

Desa Pulau Cawan berada di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir yang terkenal sebagai daerah penghasil Kepiting Bakau (Scylla serrate Forskal.). Peningkatan permintaan pasar yang diikuti dengan meningkatnya nilai ekonomis Kepiting Bakau mendorong masyarakat melakukan eksploitasi secara berlebihan sehingga dikhawatirkan akan mengancam kelestariannya. Solusi yang dapat dikembangkan adalah dengan cara budidaya Kepiting Soka. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pentingnya menjaga kondisi ekologi dan keberlanjutan kepiting bakau di alam dengan pendekatan penerapan iptek terkait budidaya kepiting soka. Kegiatan budidaya kepiting soka merupakan salah satu upaya berkelanjutan agar proses recruitment alamiah kepiting bakau dapat terus berlangsung. Penerapan iptek yang dilakukan adalah teknik stimulus mutilasi organ pada budidaya kepiting soka untuk mempercepat proses moulting dan meminimalisir biaya produksi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan melakukan penyuluhan, diskusi dan praktek secara langsung untuk menggali informasi tentang tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat terkait kondisi ekologi dan kelestarian kepiting bakau serta memberikan keterampilan teknis budidaya kepiting soka sebagai alternatif ekonomi yang dapat dikembangkan. Serangkaian kegiatan penyuluhan dan praktek teknis budidaya kepiting soka di respon positif oleh masyarakat nelayan Desa Pulau Cawan. Peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini merupakan upaya berkelanjutan untuk tetap menjaga kelestarian kepiting bakau di alam serta dapat memberikan kontribusi pada peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat nelayan di Desa Pulau Cawan.

Abstract

AbstrakIkan betutu Oxyeleotris marmorata merupakan ikan lokal potensial menjadi komoditas budidaya. Performa pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengembangkan wadah budidaya. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui jenis wadah budidaya yang optimal dalam mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup. Perlakuan yang di uji adalah kolam tanah, kolam hapa dan kolam terpal berukuran 3 m x 2 m x 1 m. Ukuran benih yang digunakan 15±1,39 cm dengan bobot 250,04±1,70 g dengan padat tebar 25 ekor/kolam. Selama 120 hari masa pemeliharaan, pakan yang diberikan adalah ikan rucah sebanyak 30% dari bobot tubuh dengan frekwensi 2x sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan jenis wadah berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup. Pertambahan bobot terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan jenis wadah kolam tanah sebesar 53,86±1,10 g dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,45±0,010 %bobot tubuh/hari dan kelangsungan hidup 85,33±6,11%. Kualitas air pada seluruh wadah pemeliharaan masih mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan informasi dasar dalam pemilihan wadah budidaya yang efektif dan efisien dalam pengembangan budidaya ikan betutu secara optimal.Kata kunci: ikan betutu; pertumbuhan; kelangsungan hidup; wadahAbstractSand goby (Oxyeleotris marmorata. Blkr) is a potential fish species for aquaculture in Indonesia. However, the growth and survival rate performance can be improved by developing cultivation containers. The research objective was to determine the optimal type of cultivation container to produce high growth and survival rate. The ponds treatments used in this experiment were soil pond, hapa pond and tarpaulin pond with measuring 3 m x 2 m x 1 m. The initial fish length average was 15±1.39 cm, with the initial body weight average of 250.04±1.70 g with the stocking density of 25 individual/pond. During 120 days of the rearing period, the fish were fed with trash fish with a proportion of 30% of body weight with the frequency of feeding 2x a day. The results showed differences in the type of container significantly affected weight gain and specific growth rates but did not significantly affect survival rate. The best weight gain was found in the treatment of soil pond containers at 53.86 ± 1.10 g with a specific growth rate of 0.45 ± 0.010% body weight/day and survival rate of 85.33 ± 6.11%. Water quality in all containers still supports growth and survival rate. The results of this study can be used as necessary information in the selection of effective and efficient aquaculture containers to produce optimal sand goby culture.Keywords: sand goby; growth; survival rate; container

Abstract

Lobster air tawar capit merah Redclaw (Cherax qudricarinatus) merupakan komoditas perikanan air tawar yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai komoditas budidaya. Performa pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan dapat ditingkatkan dengan meningkatkan frekuensi pemberian pakan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui frekuensi pemberian pakan yang optimal dalam mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah variasi frekuensi pemberian pakan 2 kali sehari, 3 kali sehari, dan 4 kali sehari. Lobster Redclaw yang digunakan memiliki bobot tubuh rata-rata 0,53±0,11 gram dengan panjang rata-rata 3,15±0,02 cm. Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 90 hari dalam wadah akuarium, dengan padat tebar 20 ekor/wadah. Jenis pakan yang diberikan adalah pelet udang PF 100 ukuran 0,4–0,7 mm dengan proporsi 3% dari berat biomassa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan variasi frekuensi pemberian pakan tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap performa pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan. Nilai parameter kualitas air pada seluruh wadah selama pemeliharaan masih mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup lobster air tawar capit merah.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to fulfill the nutritional needs of the community and create alternative economic opportunities for the community in Sialang Panjang Village, Tembilahan Hulu, Indragiri Hilir. The method used is counseling and demonstration of processing trash shrimp to shrimp nuggets as fisheries diversification product. The results of the activity showed the high enthusiasm and activeness of the participants. It can be seen that there is an increase in knowledge in the very good category 39.87% and 33.07% in the good category, after the series of activities were completed. The sustainability of activities related to the development of alternative economic opportunities depends on the availability of capital from the relevant stakeholders.

Abstract

The survival of the endemic depik fish in Lake Laut Tawar is threatened by the over-utilization of fish biological resources and the decline in environmental quality. This situation is believed to result from the community's lack of knowledge and understanding of endemic fish and their life aspects. To address this issue, sustainable efforts are required to conserve the biological resources of the depik fish, one of which involves enhancing public knowledge and understanding through counselling sessions. As part of a community service activity, counselling occurred on December 1, 2022, coinciding with an outing class of students from SDIT Sunnah An-Najah in Takengon, Central Aceh. The activity consisted of three sessions: 1) administering an initial questionnaire (pre-test) to assess baseline knowledge, 2) delivering informative material through counselling, and 3) evaluating the achievements of the activity. The overall evaluation results indicated that the partners' average knowledge increased by 51.19% after the counselling session. To ensure the continuity and consistency of depik fish's biological resource conservation in Lake Laut Tawar, it is recommended to incorporate learning about fish biological resource conservation into the curriculum and local school content.

Abstract

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the second leading cause of death worldwide, after COVID-19. This study investigated the prevalence and microenvironmental determinants of pulmonary TB in Dumai City, focusing on the urban areas. Using a cross-sectional approach in three areas with high, medium, and low rates of pulmonary TB, this study identified the ventilation, lighting, humidity, floor and wall material type, and occupancy density variables that influence pulmonary TB transmission. The results showed that inadequate microenvironmental conditions significantly contributed to the spread of pulmonary TB. Effective management of these microenvironmental risk factors is essential as a basis for public health interventions to reduce the TB prevalence in Dumai City.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the growth pattern of depik (Rasbora tawarensis Weber & de Beaufort, 1916) using a Linear Allometric Model (LAM) in different seasons in Lake Laut Tawar (LLT), Aceh Tengah. Abstract

Penelitian ini menilai efektivitas ekstrak daun ubi jalar (I. batatas) sebagai anestesi alami untuk transportasi benih ikan gurami (O. goramy) sebagai ikan uji. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan dosis dan durasi paparan ekstrak yang paling efektif untuk mengurangi stres dan mortalitas pada benih ikan selama proses transportasi. Reaksi fisiologis dan perilaku yang diamati pada benih ikan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun ubi jalar merupakan anestesi alternatif yang aman dan efisien untuk digunakan selama proses transportasi benih ikan. Konsentrasi yang paling efektif adalah 100 ml ekstrak per 8 liter air, dengan waktu pemaparan selama 8 jam, menghasilkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup sebesar 98,50%. Hasil ini menunjukkan potensi penggunaan anestesi alami yang berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan di sektor akuakultur, khususnya dalam proses transportasi benih ikan.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding and participation of the residents of Sapat Village in developing the local ecotourism potential, including mangrove ecotourism, fishing, fireflies, sailing, beaches, and the socio-cultural heritage of fishermen’s communities. The program involved socialization, discussions, and the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method to gain deeper insights into community perspectives and assess readiness for ecotourism development. Following the activities, an evaluation was conducted to assess participants' understanding before and after the program. The results showed a significant improvement, particularly in mangrove and firefly ecotourism, with an increase in the awareness of sustainable ecosystem management. However, the potential for beach ecotourism is less favorable due to environmental limitations, such as muddy substrates and tidal conditions. The community expressed strong support for technical assistance and training to develop ecotourism initiatives, especially mangrove and fishing activities, which are expected to boost local incomes and conservation efforts. This programme highlights the importance of continuous mentoring, capacity building, and monitoring to ensure the sustainability and economic impact of community-based ecotourism
