Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada pembelajaran kalkulus materi penggunaan integral. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan, yaitu metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk dan menguji efektivitas produk tersebut. Instrumen tes yang dikembangkan berdasarkan model Thiagarajan. Prosedur penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga langkah, yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), dan develop (pengembangan). Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang telah dirancang memenuhi kriteria valid dan efektif lebih dari 85% mahasiswa mencapai Kriteria ketuntasan minimal.

Abstract

Metode statistik membantu mengorganisasi data hasil belajar, baik itu dalam penyajian, pemusatan, dan penyebaran data. Selain membantu membuat keputusan yang tepat, pemahaman statistik merupakan dasar untuk membangun keahlian berpikir. Tujuan dalam pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi penggunaan metode statistika untuk menganalisis data evaluasi hasil belajar siswa, Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan penggunaan metode statistik secara daring melalui platform google meeting, dan diakhiri dengan evaluasi hasil kegiatan. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan secara daring dan evaluasi hasil kegiatan guru yang didasarkan pada focus group discussion (FGD) mengungkapkan bahwa kinerja guru dalam menggunakan metode statistika untuk analisis data evaluasi hasil belajar siswa terkategori mampu memahami dan mampu membuat alat evaluasi sederhana baik itu berbasis excel dan google form. Sehingga dari kegiatan ini, telah memberikan kesempatan unik para guru dalam memahami statistik pada tingkat konseptual tanpa terlalu terjebak dalam persamaan dan rumus.  Use of Statistical Methods to Analyze Learning Outcome Evaluation Data at SMPN 1 Gerung, West Lombok Regency Statistical methods help organize data on learning outcomes, both in presenting, centralizing, and disseminating data. In addition to helping make the right decisions, understanding statistics is the basis for building thinking skills. The purpose of this service is to socialize the use of statistical methods to analyze student learning outcomes evaluation data. The implementation method used is focus group discussion (FGD) and is followed by training on the use of statistical methods online through the google meeting platform, and ends with an evaluation of the results of activities. The results of this service show that online training and evaluation of the results of teacher activities based on focus group discussions (FGD) reveal that teacher performance in using statistical methods for data analysis of student learning outcomes evaluation is categorized as being able to understand and be able to make simple evaluation tools both excel-based and google forms. Thus, this activity has provided teachers with a unique opportunity to understand statistics at a conceptual level without getting too caught up in equations and formulas.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika realistik, pembelajaran diawali dengan menggunakan masalah kontekstual, masalah yang berkaitan langsung dengan lingkungan keseharian atau pengetahuan yang telah dimiliki siswa. Pembelajaran tidak dimulai dari sistem formal matematika. Masalah kontekstual yang diangkat sebagai topik awal pembelajaran harus merupakan masalah sederhana yang dikenali oleh siswa. Ada tiga prinsip utama dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan PMR, yaitu: 1) guided reinvention and progressive mathematizing; 2) didactical phenomenology; dan 3) self-developed models. Selain itu, akan ditampilkan bagaimana menerjemahkan pembelajaran matematika realistic ke dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIIIB MTs. Darul Quran Bengkel. Hal ini menjadikan aktivitas belajar siswa berkurang dan berakibat pada rendahnya prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, guru perlu menerapkan suatu strategi pembelajaran yang mampu menekankan keterampilan proses dalam upaya meningkatkan peran aktif dan prestasi belajar siswa di kelas, salah satu alternatifnya dengan menerapkan pembelajaran Think-Talk-Write (TTW). Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi pokok lingkaran di kelas VIIIB MTs. Darul Quran Bengkel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan masing-masing siklusnya terdiri dari 3 kali pertemuan. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, evaluasi, dan refleksi. Data prestasi belajar siswa diperoleh melalui evaluasi hasil belajar tiap akhir siklus, sedangkan data aktivitas guru dan aktivitas belajar siswa diperoleh melalui lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata skor aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Perolehan rata-rata skor aktivitas siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II berturut-turut adalah 12,5 yang berkategori aktif dan 14,67 yang berkategori sangat aktif. Kemudian nilai rata-rata kelas siswa untuk siklus I dan siklus II berturut-turut adalah 66,6 dengan ketuntasan belajar 75% dan 73,8 dengan ketuntasan belajar 78,38 %. Dengan memperhatikan hasil serta indikator keberhasilan yang tercapai, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi pembelajaran Think-Talk-Write (TTW) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi pokok Lingkaran di Kelas VIIIB MTs. Darul Quran Bengkel.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model on student’s mathematical logical thinking abilities and the amount of it. To achieve the goals, this research used post-test only control group design. This research was held in class XI-IPA of SMAN 1 Sekotong and consist of 60 students which divided into two classes. By considering the post-test only control group design which requires a control group and the experimental group, used saturated sampling technique that took the whole population as the sample. The members of the population were all students of class XI-IPA of SMAN 1 Sekotong which divided into two classes XI-IPA 1 and XI-IPA 2. The instruments were used to measure the student’s logical thinking ability consist of four description. The measurement of the logical thinking ability was measured after the implementation of problem-based learning for four times. The level of compliance to the learning model was measured by observation of student and teacher activity sheets. The results of data analysis using t-test showed that problem-based learning have a significant influence on the mathematical logical thinking ability. Those results were showed by the increasing of mathematical logical thinking ability in each meeting. The analysis using the effect-size gave the result of the d value of 1,60 which means the application of problem-based learning have a high influence to the student’s mathematical logical thinking ability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the written mathematical communication skills through the lence of cognitive style of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Praya Barat Daya in the academic year 2020/2021. With the subjects of research used is 4 students of class VIII A which is taken were in the form of GEFT test results . This study is a descriptive study. The instrument used is test GEFT and written mathematical communication skills test. The findings of the study showed that (a) Students with field-independent cognitivestyle depictedproper written mathematical communication skill. Students at this level were able to state ideas or mathematical solutions in their own language clearly and precisely, they also were able to state problems in the form of pictures, and were able to write down mathematical ideas and explanations correctly but were still not optimal. (b) Students with a field-dependent cognitive style had good mathematical communication ability. Students at this level were able to state ideas or mathematical solutions in their own language properlyyet are still incomplete, they were still not optimal in addressing problems in the form of images, and lastly, they werealso able to write mathematical ideas and explanations clearly and accurately.

Abstract

This Research aims to know about the reasoning ability and mathematic representation ability to the results of mathematic lesson in students grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batulayar year academic 2019/2020. This research used quantitative approach with ex post facto research type. The population of this research is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Batulayar. In determining the sample, probability sampling technique with the type of cluster sampling was used. The sample in this research is the students of class VIII B SMP Negeri 1 Batulayar amounted to 22 students. Data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis. From the result of the data analysis we found the significant influence between reasoning ability and representative mathematic’s ability to the mathematics learning result of mathematic lesson in students grade viii smp negeri 1 batulayar year academic 2019/2020 with Fcount = 78,812 > F(2,19) = 3,52. The data we wroute as the same regration that Ŷ=-2,452+0,466X1+0,575X2. The equation show us that reasoning ability and the representative mathematic’s ability increase 1 unit and the learning result will increase to 0,466 from reasoning mathematics ability plus 0,575 representative mathematic’s ability.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mistakes made by the VIIA grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Mataram in solving story questions about the set material in terms of learning achievement. With the research subject, namely 6 students of class VIIA which has been selected based on learning achievement. This research is a descriptive qualitative type with research instruments in the form of written test sheets and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique was carried out by the students completed the questions using the Polya analysis or not, if using the Polya analysis, the stages were correct or not, if using the Polya analysis with the correct steps, the students' answers would be analyzed using the Polya analysis. The results of the study were at the stage of understanding the problem, the subject made mistakes 16.66% with a small category, at the stage of choosing the right problem-solving strategy made an error 20% with a small category, at the stage of solving the problem subject made a mistake 51.66% with the high category and at the stage of re-checking subjects made mistakes 64,58% with the very high category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors and the causes of errors in solving mathematics word context problem in the topic of absolute value. Based on Newman’s Error Analysis terms of student’s lerning styles. Error analysis must continue to be carried out so that teachers know the types, causes, and solutions to overcome student errors. This type of research is descriptive qualitative.The research subjects of class X MIA 1 SMAN 1 Janapria academic year 2020/2021 were selected by purposive sampling. To deepen the research results, 2 students were selected from each type of learning style. Data collection techniques used are learning style questionnaire, diagnostic tests, and interviews. Data analysis technique used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of the data is (i) students with visual learning style and audits mostly made errors in stage of transformation, process skill, and encoding. While students with kinesthetic learning style mostly made errors in stage of comprehension, transformation, process skill, and encoding, (ii) the causes of mistakes for both students with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles are that students less understanding of the prerequisite lessons, cannot make mathematical models, and not know the steps to solve problems.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop student worksheets based on PBL (Problem Based Learning) to improve the problem-solving abilities of class VIII students at MTs Hikmatusysyarief NW Salut Narmada for the 2020-2021 school year on two-variable linear equation systems. PBL-based LKPD (Problem Based Learning) is an LKPD that is arranged based on the phases of the PBL learning model. The development of this product aims to overcome the weaknesses in the teaching and learning process and overcome the weaknesses of students' problem-solving abilities. The research methodology used in developing PBL-based LKPD is 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). Data collection techniques using interview guidelines and questionnaires. The result of the research is a product in the form of LKPD based on PBL (Problem Based Learning) on ​​the material of a two-variable linear equation system. The product has been declared valid with very good criteria by two validators. Based on the results of a limited trial on the use of the developed product, it is known that the PBL-based LKPD can improve the problem-solving ability of class VIII students of MTs Hikmatusysyarief NW Salut Narmada.
