Abstract

Patients who undergo chemotherapy and will undergo a very risky procedure increased stress due to ignorance chemotherapy procedure that would in live or because of the condition of the disease, thus in need of appropriate measures to reduce stress levels in patients with chemotherapy. The human body responds to concerns and events that stimulate the mind and muscle tension, relaxation techniques are progressive muscle relaxing therapy. This study aimed to analyze the level of stress in cancer patients with chemotherapy in the Naval Hospital Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. This study design using one-group pre-post test design with a sample of 33 cancer patients with chemotherapy in Rumkital Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. The instrument used was a questionnaire on demographic data and questionnaire sheet DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale). The test used was Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with significance ρ = ≤ 0,05. Results of measuring the level of stress before the progressive relaxation therapy is given to a range of severe stress and after being given the progressive relaxation therapy to the normal range. Test results after and before the ρ= ≤ 0,001 while the value of ρ= ≤ 0.05, then it can be concluded that there is influence progressive relaxation therapy on stress levels. This therapy is highly effective in reducing stress levels, in order to accelerate the healing process of cancer. After a given therapy, stress levels were initially high after the therapy would be a significant drop was even normal. Keywords: progressive relaxation therapy, cancer, chemotherapy, stress

Abstract

Patient identification is a process for give a sign or identifier that includes the medical record number and patient identification with the purpose to make differences between another patients in order to accuracy of the provision services, the treatment and the implementation procedure to the patient. The purpose of this research was to determine The Relationship Level of Nurses Knowledge About Identification in Patient Safety with the Implementation at S. K Lerik Kupang inpatient hospital. Design an observational analytic study with cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this research from 64 nurses who were taken through simple random sampling technique. The results from of the study showed that 78.1%  had good enough knowledge and 21.9% had good knowledge. In its implementation 79,7% were good enough and 20,3% were good at carrying out patient safety identification. The Spearman rho test indicate that presence of relationship between the level of  nurses knowledge about identification in  patient safety with implementation, p = 0.001(p< a = 0.05). The conclusion from this research is the  nurses knowledge in the implementation of patient identification in pretty  good category. The results of this study can be input in order to more improve their knowledge through seminars and training about patient identification as well as apply the nurses knowledge in the implementation of patient identification.  Keywords : Knowledge, Identification in patient safety

Abstract

Type 2 DM is a metabolic disorder disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar due to insulin resistance and can cause Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) which can be cured by wound cleansing. The study used a Pre-Post control group design with a measurement time of 16 days involving 40 patients who were divided into 2 groups and selected randomly. The method of analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney. The instrument uses standard operating procedures for wound cleansers made from the decoction of Arabic bidara leaves and the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT). Data analyzed using Mann-Whitney  (p= 0.586) showed that there was no difference in the mean after wound cleansing in the intervention group and after wound cleansing in the control group, but there was a difference in the decrease in indicators.  The intervention group reduced 8 BWAT indicators consisting of wound edges, Necrotic Tissue Type, Necrotic Tissue Amount, exudate type, Exudate Amount, Skin Color Surrounding the Wound, Peripheral Tissue Edema & Induration. while the control group decreased 6 BWAT indicators consisting of Necrotic Tissue Type, Necrotic Tissue Amount, Exudate Amount, Skin Color Surrounding the Wound, Peripheral Tissue Edema & Induration. Arabic bidara leaves contain flavonoids as anti-inflammatory and antioxidants as well as alkaloids, tannins, and Christine as antibacterial. This research can be used as an evidence-based practice for DFU wound care.
