Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze students’ error grammatical uttered by 20 El. Tourism Trainee students. To data collection done through observation, aided by audio recording and it was completed by the note-taking technique during the research. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using classroom research. The data collected by recording the students’ conversation was done teaching and learning activity in the classroom. The results of the analysis were found that students ignore the rule of an interrogative in asking a question. Most of the students tended to obtain dubious in expressing the statement and question during the conversation. The conclusion the students’ ignorances because of their knowledge of the grammatical structure they are learning and practising during their activity of doing their tasks.

Abstract

Purpose: This research is to know how the implementation and the level significance of employees’ job satisfaction on turnover intention at a 5 star resort hotel in the southern part of Bali. Research methods: To solve the problem, the writers use quantitative analysis (simple linear regression analysis) and qualitative analysis with SPSS 25. Based on the results it is known that the employees’ job satisfaction at the hotel is quite satisfied with the aspects of the job satisfaction provided by the management. Findings: In the T-test result sig. value 0.003 < 0.005 means the hotel employess’ job satisfaction gives a significant influence, and has a negative influence on turnover intention through the beta coefficient of (?) -0.200, with r square of 0.080 in coefficient determination means that the level significances or contribution of the employees’ job satisfaction variable affecting the turnover intention by 8% and the remainder by 92% is determined by another variable not described in this research. Implication: The hotel management should provide a promotional opportunity to employees and also improve the others employees’ job satisfaction aspects such as salary, workload, and relationship with supervisor and co-workers.

Abstract

The cruise industry is a highly concentrated business in terms of players and markets. Vessel deployment strategies and itinerary design by cruise operators are primordial and are affected by market and operational considerations. This paper focuses on the procedure of handling shore excursions for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Voyager by the Department of Inter cruises at PT. Pacific World Nusantara. By applying a descriptive qualitative research, the data was collected through observation, interview, and document review. The theory used to undertake this study is the Cruise Industry Perspective of European Commission Passenger Ship Safety Meeting, Brussels. The data that has been classified is analyzed by qualitative descriptive method with an inductive-methodological paradigm which is setting up the discussion from particular principles to the general in order to obtain a conclusion. The result of data analysis is presented by formal and informal method. The study reveals the handling procedure of shore excursions for Regent Seven Seas Cruise Voyager necessitates so much higher international standard either during preparation prior to the cruise arrival, tours upon its arrival, on departure as well as after departure itself that, in fact, Regent Seven Seas Cruise Voyager has exclusive standard operation tour and Inter-cruises team takes high concern to handle the shore excursion program for their clients. Therefore, the success of the cruise handling is a staff-handling cruise endeavor as the company’s pride and accomplishment.

Abstract

The research aims to calculate efficiency in the purchase of food and beverages in star hotels in Bali. Ten five stars hotels receiving award as the best hotel from Trivadvesor in 2016 are chosen as research sample. Data are collected through questionnaire given to purchasing department. Data are analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and economical order quantity (EOQ) analysis. Research result indicates that the system and process for the purchase of food & beverage in stars hotels in Bali covered contract system for purchasing of perishable foods such as vegetables; daily or monthly system to give freedom to hotels to buy required goods; standing order was used to order certain types of foods supplied by certain supplier; and cash purchase was used to buy food or beverages in small amount. The purchasing process in the hotel uses contract system and the level of efficiency could be improved using EOQ in purchasing. The purchasing of budgeted food and beverages will facilitate the purchase operation; however, it will be better if it includes the existing economic approach calculation in order to increase hotel’s performance. The use of EOQ method could reduce storage cost at the hotels. In the future, hotels should put more attention on such cost as storage cost and cost of order.

Abstract

Informasi akuntansi mempunyai peranan penting untuk mencapai keberhasilan usaha, termasuk juga bagi usaha kecil. Informasi akuntansi dapat digunakan sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan dalam pengelolaan usaha kecil, seperti: keputusan pengembangan pasar, penetapan harga, juga dalam hubungan usaha kecil dengan pemerintah dan kreditur. Pada praktiknya, kebanyakan usaha kecil tidak menyelenggarakan dan menggunakan informasi akuntansi dalam pengelolaan usahanya. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah: “Apakah terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan informasi akuntansi terhadap keberhasilan usaha?”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan informasi akuntansi terhadap keberhasilan usaha jasa penginapan bertaraf kecil. Responden penelitian ini adalah para pengelola jasa penginapan yang termasuk ke dalam kriteria UMKM yang terdapat di Kabupaten Buleleng. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif dan alat analisis menggunakan regresi sederhana. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan informasi akuntansi terhadap keberhasilan usaha jasa penginapan bertaraf kecil. Oleh karena itu, setiap pemilik UKM sebaiknya menggunakan informasi akuntansi sebagai dasar dalam pengambilan keputusan usaha. Informasi akuntansi pada usaha UKM sebaiknya diawali dengan melakukan pencatatan terhadap setiap transaksi bisnis baik dengan cara yang sederhana maupun dengan cara yang kompleks sehingga nantinya catatan – catatan tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman dalam menjalankan bisnis.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of excellent service by butler on guest satisfaction at Tanadewa Villas & Spa. This research used a quantitative method. Data were collected by questionnaire were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The collecting of data was an observation, distributed the questionnaire, and interviewing the assistant front office manager. The population in this research was the number of guests who stayed at Tanadewa Villas & Spa for six months from October 2020 to April 2021. The total of samples of this research was 30 respondents. The results of this research 30 respondents stated excellent service by butler has a significant effect and has a positive direction towards guest satisfaction. The Pearson Correlation test results between the excellent service and guest satisfaction variable (Y), which are 0.662, show that the correlation between excellent service and guest satisfaction is high. Determination Coefficient Analysis shows that excellent service has 43.9% in explaining the variance of guest satisfaction, while the remaining 56.1% is from other factors not in this research. All the indicators have shown numbers above four of the Likert Scale. It means excellent service is still needed to optimize to make guest satisfaction such as teaching English of serving guests, providing directions on how to use the facilities in the villa, for example operating coffee machine or EDC machine, and carrying out guidance also socialization periodically focuses on excellent service procedures to butler employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of students' core competencies in learning English for Tourism at Tourism Department Politeknik Negeri Bali, where the main product is a green ethical-based measurement instrument for Core Competencies Practices of Problem Solving Skills. Two types of instruments have been created and designed and then used to assess the level of Development in the teaching and learning process for students and lecturers. The results of the Students' Report trial show that overall the instrument is suitable for widespread use. Confirmatory factor analysis results also show the validity of the sub constructs for each main construct. The results of the level of development of Core Competencies show that the minimum development of students' Core Competencies is above 4.2. This means that the development of student Core Competencies has been achieved. For this reason, the Core Competencies development model must maintain to be developed, tested and finally implemented.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to see the strengths and weaknesses of internal factors as well as opportunities and threats of external factors and to formulate appropriate marketing strategies in increasing room occupancy rates at a 5-star hotel in Seminyak, Bali. Research methods: Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document study. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative analysis, IFAS matrix (internal strategy factor), EFAS matrix (external strategy factor), SWOT analysis and SWOT matrix. The method of determining the sample is purposive sampling, namely selecting respondents with certain criteria with 6 respondents. Results and discussion: There are 10 indicators of internal factors that become strengths, 5 indicators of internal factors that become weaknesses, 6 indicators of external factors that become opportunities, and 1 indicator of external factors that become threats. The results of the IE matrix research show that the strategy used is in column I, namely the growth strategy of the company itself. Implication: The SWOT analysis resulted in 8 strategies, namely the SO strategy that can be applied such as increasing collaboration with other offline travel agents and holding activities by utilizing the attractiveness of local (Balinese) culture. Abstract

This study is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of internal factors, to identify opportunities and threats from external factors, and to assess the appropriate strategies to be applied at Vila Lumbung, Bali, Indonesia. Data collection methods used are participant observation, structured interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive qualitative analysis, Internal Factor Analysis Summar (IFAS) Matrix, External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS) Matrix, Internal-External Matrix (IE), SWOT analysis and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) analysis. There are internal and external factors that influence the marketing strategy to increase food and beverage sales which carried out by the sales marketing and F&B staff at the Vila Lumbung. Based on the results of IFAS matrix analysis, the main strength are strategic location and employee hospitality in providing services, while the main weaknesses is complete facilities to support marketing strategies to increase food and beverage sales. Based on the results of the EFAS matrix analysis, it is known that the main opportunity is the hospitality of the local people, while the main threat faced are consumer spending patterns and global economic conditions. The results of the IE Matrix research, show that the company was place in the Growth (Cell V) position. The SWOT analysis resulted in 9 alternative marketing strategies, from that 9 strategies obtained by 3 marketing strategies that were prioritized and were calculated through the QSPM Matrix, with a total TAS 347.50, 315.14, and 307.65.

Abstract

Behind the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the whole world, there are blessings in disguises. One of them is millennial students can utilize the museum as a means of developing values of their characters. The purpose of this study is to examine the contribution of millennials to the development of Batur Geopark Museum. By applying a qualitative research method, the primary data were collected through observations and interviews. Secondary data was obtained from relevant authorities, news, and literature reviews. The results of the study explain the mutual benefits between students and the Batur Geopark Museum. For millennial students, they benefit in the form of visual references and experiences of past historical events. On the other hand, the Batur Geopark Museum get leverage from the millenials’ visits through on the job training (OJT) programs and student industrial visits. This will be followed by information exchange, social media activities and enhanced electronic word-of-mouth (EWOM).
