Abstract

Service activities based on the realization of a healthy school environment are carried out by forming and empowering a larva monitoring team or jumantik in schools. This activity aims to create a school that is healthy and free from mosquito larvae, especially the Aedes Aegypti mosquito which is a vector of dengue fever. The activity was carried out by carrying out a pretest and posttest, counselling and also socialization to school residents about DHF and also jumantik. After equalizing perceptions about jumatiK, a member of the jumantik team will be recruited who will be tasked with monitoring larvae, eradicating mosquito nests, as well as recording and reporting on the presence of mosquito larvae in the area of SMPN 41 Padang City. There is a significant difference in the average level of knowledge and attitudes of students at SMPN 41 Padang before and after counselling and providing material regarding the larva monitoring team. This shows that the counselling provided can affect the level of knowledge, attitudes and behaviour of students regarding larva monitoring and dengue fever for the better. A Jumantik team has been formed in each class. Hopefully, the team will do well in the future.

Abstract

Mallory-Weiss syndrome (MWS), which is characterized by bleeding due to mucosal rupture at the gastroesophageal junction, accounts for 1% to 4% of cases with upper gastrointestinal system (GIS) bleeding. Mallory-Weiss tear (MWS) is characterized by longitudinal mucosal lacerations (intra-mural dissection) in the distal esophagus and proximal stomach. These tears usually result from a sudden increase in intra-abdominal pressure. During pregnancy, MWS can develop because of hyperemesis gravidarum in the first trimester, and the volume of bleeding is such that it can be controlled through spontaneous hemostasis. However, reports of third trimester pregnancies complicated by MWS are rare

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to estimate the scale parameter  of invers Rayleigh distribution under MLE, Bayesian Generalized square error loss function (SELF), and Bayesian LINEX loss function . The posterior distribution is considered to use two types of prior, namely Jeffrey’s prior and exponential distribution. The proposed methods are then employed in the real data. Several criteria AIC, AICc, and BIC for the selection model are considered in order to identify the method which results in a suitable value of parameter estimated. This study found that Bayesian Generalized SELF at first polynomial  and Bayesian LINEX loss function under exponential distribution  yielded better estimation values than MLE based on AIC, AICc, and BIC

Abstract

Pesisir Selatan Regency is one of the districts with 15 sub-districts with the largest population in IV Jurai District. The number of deaths per year on the South Coast fluctuates. In 2015 the number of infant deaths increased from 6 to 42 people (male 29 and 13 female) from the previous year, AKABA of 47 from 18 in the previous year. There were 16 toddlers with herniated nutrition and many pregnant women, namely around 273 pregnant women. Based on a preliminary study conducted by the activity implementation team at the Lumpo Public Health Center, IV Jurai District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, it is known that there is no ultrasound examination facility in pregnancy and prenatal yoga facilities at the Lumpo Puskesmas, besides that there are no similar activities carried out at SD Negeri 016 and MTsN. Nagari Lumpo which is included in the work area of Lumpo Puskesmas. Several tests can be done during pregnancy as an effort to detect early and prevent complications and growth disorders in the fetus. Among others, by monitoring weight gain during pregnancy, conducting general examinations (vital signs), physical examinations that focus on the breasts, abdomen, genitalia with inspection, palpation, auscultation, and percussion, ultrasonography (USG) examinations, and performing supporting examinations in the form of laboratory examination (hemoglobin examination). The result of this activity is an increase in each target group's quality of life by the stages of life after this activity.
