Abstract

This study aims to explain how defense cooperation is established between Indonesia and Vietnam in 2010-2017. The security of territorial sovereignty is one of the national interests which is always pursued by the state. Every country in the world needs a safe condition to live a state life and to obtain it then the defense system will always be needed. To meet these needs, Vietnam is trying to strengthen its defense by buying weapons from other countries, one of them from Indonesia. Indonesia is known as the best weapon system's main tool manufacturer in Southeast Asia, as evidenced by the existence of three SOEs namely PT. DI, PT. PINDAD, and PT. PAL. The Memorandum of Understanding on Enhancing Cooperation between Defense Officers and Related Defense Related Activities agreed in 2010 and good relationships that have been established for approximately 50 years is another factor in Vietnam making Indonesia a partner in defense cooperation.This research data is obtained from books, journals, official documents, and websites that support the hypothesis. The author uses the neorealism approach of Kenneth Waltz and the nation-state analysis. And the theory used in this research is the theory of decision making and national interest.The result of the research shows that the relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia so far has been running well, marked by the holding of working visit and honorary visit by both countries, and the exchange of delegation and joint training which is the scope of cooperation contained in the Memorandum of Understanding Cooperation between Indonesia-Vietnam Defense Officials and Related Defense Related Activities signed in 2010. It is expected that the cooperation between the two countries will be better in the future, considering the many threats that will be faced in accordance with the times, not only from within but also from outside the region.Keywords: Defense Cooperation, Regional Sovereignty, National Interest.

Abstract

This research is a political economy study that describes the interests of Indonesia in establishing trade relations with Taiwan. The aim of this study is to determine Indonesia's interests in establishing trade relations with Taiwan. This study used qualitative research methods. This analysis is based on literature. The author used data from a collection of journals, books, documents, and the internet. The perspective that used is Liberalism, which according to this perspective assumes that humans are essentially non-conflict, willing to cooperate and rational beings. The level of analysis is Country-Nation, where the state is the dominant and most powerful actor in international interactions. The concept that used in this study is the concept of national interest, where this concept is the main pillar of foreign policy and international politics that are realistic because national interests determine the political actions of a country. The results of the research in the thesis are international cooperation, where the collaboration of this research occurs between Indonesia and Taiwan to meet the needs and interests of each country in the field of trade. The interest of the Indonesian Government in Establishing Trade Relations with Taiwan is to increase Indonesian cooperation in various sectors, such as Indonesia's exports which increased to USD 1.84 billion by 2018, Taiwan is very interested in investing in Indonesia amounting to 142 million US dollars, 7,200 Indonesian students in 2018 which are studying to Taiwan. Keywords: Nation Interest, One China Policy, International Relation

Abstract

This paper is a bilateral trade study that provides an explain of the Cooperation of two countries. This research discusses about ““Indonesia’s Interest in Importing of Apple in 2010-2014”. The purpose of this research is to know why Indonesia to Cooperate with Tingkok in import of apple. Import of apple is one of the causes of trade deficit between Indonesia and Tiongkok. Tiongkok is the biggest apple producer in the world and Indonesia is one of the country importing apples from Tiongkok.This is qualitative research which used descriptive explanative methods, and collecting datas from books, journals, articles, mass media, official ublications and relevant websites. This paper used the liberalism perspective written by David Ricardo and Adam Smith, analysis unit nation-state and this paper uses theory of International Trade, in this case the theory of comparative advantage by David Ricardo because there is competition between local apple and imported apple, so it takes a significant Indonesian government policy in the process of buying and selling Chinese orange fruit and fruits Local oranges.The result of this research is that Indonesia imports apple from Tiongkok because the productivity of local apple is less in fulfilling domestic consumption and Tiongkok is the biggest Importer country for Indonesia. Also influenced by the composition of imported apples , apple marketing and imported apple prices that are cheaper than local apples.Keywords: Import duty, International Cooperate, Interest, Liberalism perspective.

Abstract

This research is describes the cooperation between Indonesia and Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in program known as Member Countries Partnership Strategy (MCPS). In this case, Indonesia is country with the largest economy in Southeast Asia with GDP per capita that has been steadily rising. In fact, the GDP growth as much six percent in 2012 and Muslim population in majority. However, the country is still struggling against poverty, educational problem, health- care and infrastructure development. Therefore, to solve this problem Indonesia should cooperate with another country or international organization, like Islamic Development Bank (IDB).The research was obtained by reviewing the literature either from books, journals, theses, reports, and internet. In this research, the author uses neo-liberalist prespective with international cooperate theory by K.J Holsti and Charles H. Cooley , international organization theory by Clive Archer and A. Le Roy Bennet with level analysis in nation-state.Indonesia’s economic plan is follows a 20-year development plan, spanning from 2005 to 2025. It is segmented into 5-year medium-term plans, called the RPJMN with different development priorities. In this research found that the program MCPS has positively contributed to the second phase of medium term plans. Abstract

This study aims to explain the interests of Indonesia Exporting Tuna Fish to United States in 2012-2015. The United States is one of the main destinations for the export of fishery products from Indonesia. Indonesia has the natural potential resources in the international market. The United States should meet the huge market demand for tuna while the US seas alone produce less tuna and must import from other countriesThe data of this research was obtained from books, journals, articles, official documents and websites that support the hypothesis. The author used Librealism, the theories used in this research consist of National Interest, and level analyze is a national state.The method that used in this research is the method descriptive explanation which explain the problem and the situation with the fact in the field.The results of this study indicate that the export of tuna from Indonesia to the United States provides the benefits of both countries. Since this export of tuna to United States begun, this export activity has contributed to the economy of the fisherman and the Indonesian economy. Indonesia with oceans and abundant marine products are required to harness its seafood well.Key Words : National Interest, International Relations, Indonesia, United States, Export

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of the World Food Programme (WFP) in addressing the food insecurity in Sierrra Leone. Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa which has the potential of natural resources. In 2009 the World Food Programme (WFP) establish a program to address the food crisis in Sierra Leone nature. Programs created aims to rehabilitate livelihoods and improve the nutrition of children and pregnant women in Sierra Leone.This study is a qualitative research with the study of literature. describe and explain the program of the World Food Programme (WFP), which is engaged in food aid. In this study, the authors use the analysis of the level of international organizations used theory is the theory of the role, perspective used in this study is the perspective of pluralism.This study addressed the World Food Programme (WFP) was able to reduce wishful crisis that occurred in sierra leone. Rebuilding livelihoods and reduce malnutrition of mothers and children through the mechanism of food-for-training, food-for-work, cash-for-work..Keywords: food insecurity, food-for-training, food-for-work, cash-for-work. Abstract

This research analyzed the Effect of Preferential Trade Agreement For Cotton Import From Pakistan to Indonesian Textile Industry. Indonesia as the country textile production 6th in the world, has a deficiency in the supplying of the main raw material for the manufacture of textiles, specifically cotton fiber. Indonesia still depends on cotton import commodities from several countries, one of them is from Pakistan. The price increase of cotton import commodities which has increased every year makes Indonesia and Pakistan taken an agreement called IP-PTA (Indonesia-Pakistan Preferential Trade Agreement) on September 1th, 2013 concerning the reduction of import duties on cotton imports for Indonesia.This research uses Qualitative Research, with the research library method. Some of the data obtained comes from books, journals, articles, newspapers, internet and other media. In this study also used the Perspective of Neoliberalism, the theory of Economic Integration proposed by Bella Balassa and use level of nation-state analysis in looking at the cases studied. In this research, Indonesia-Pakistan as the international actors.The IP-PTA agreement is very helpful for Indonesia in meeting domestic demand for cotton fiber at low prices. The textile industry is very influential for Indonesia, because the textile industry was able to increase the country's foreign exchange which was previously USD 12.46 to USD 12.59 billion (10.1%). Under the agreement Indonesia benefited from a reduction in the cotton import tariff from 15% to 9%. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand how Nigeria political-economy interest. Nigeria is known as the largest oil exporter country and the largest non-oil imports. Non oil-sector, Nigeria imports much consumer good. Consumer good are made from palm oil agriculture sector or non-oil. This phenomenon makes Nieria wants to establish cooperation with Indonesia in the palm plantation in 2011. Thus researcher question is how the politic-economy interest of Nigeria in this corporation with Indonesia.This research theoretically has built with liberalism perspectives on International Relations and supported by international coorporation theory and International trade theory. Formulation of all arguments, facts, and theoretical framework on this research is guided by qualitative explanation methods. Technique in this research is through by the study of library.Data which is gotten and collected through the journal books, the last thesis and then from internet has related to the problems.Researcher has formulated answered-hypothesis whic reveals the fact that the politic-economy interest of Nigeria in the Palm Plantation coorporation with Indonesia have 4 interests. The First, Nigeria wants to increase non-oil sector. Second, Nigeria wants to tight their bilateral relation with Indonesia. Third, Nigeria wants to increase their value of trade based on export and import. Abstract

This research aim to explain the effectiveness of European Union economic sanction against Russia through the annexation of Crimean Peninsula by Russia. Crimea is a major land mass on the Northern Coast of the black Sea. On March 2014, Crimean separatist group make a voting and the result shows most of voters want to join the Russian State. This action was followed soon by Russia’s annexation. Russia have been violated many international agreements and bring it to the condemnation by international community. European Union as a regional organization imposed economic sanctions against Russia.This case will be analyzed in international system level within liberalism paradigm and interdependence theory. System Level Analysis gave general pattern about the nation behavior and inter-nation interdependency while liberalism assumes that trade relation will create a good relation on international relation.Opposite with the relation between European Union and Russia nowadays. European Union and Russia have interdependence on trade relation before the crisis. Economic sanctions that imposed by European Union against Russia doesn’t work. Economic sanctions also inflict European Union as sanction’s giver. Russia kept holding Crimea as its territory because of its own interest on Crimea.Keywords : annexation, economic sanction, interdependency

Abstract

This research discussed about basic factor of policy import Indonesia Rice from Thailand in 2009-2011 and the purpose of this research is to find out reasons of Indonesia make a decision to import from Thailand. Rice have very important role in Indonesia citizen?s life in many aspect such as economy, labor, living environment, social, culture and politic. Indonesia has great potency in agriculture but the fact is there are so many farmers that weak in economy aspect. This is qualitative research which used descriptive explanative methods, and collecting datas from books, journals, articles, mass media, official publications and relevant websites. This paper used the liberalism perspective written by Locke, analysis unit nation-state and the theory is International Corporation written by K.J.Holsti. The result of this research is Indonesia makes decision to import rice from Thailand because domestic rice cannot sufficient. There are some reasons first, hard distributions, unstable climate, citizens always increase that make consume of rice also increase, Indonesian always think that rice is primer food. Honestly, Indonesia can be independent country in agriculture aspect especially for primary food in this country but need more attention from all sectors in order Indonesia can be develop country.
