Abstract

Abstract Types of receipts at hotels can be divided into cash receipts and receivables where guests who come can come from individuals and companies. Cash payments can also be through bank transfers from a savings account or through a credit card. The continuity of the hotel business is very dependent on the smooth reception of all guests. The challenge occurs when the receivables are due but there is no repayment, or only partial payment is paid so that the Account Receivable plays a very important role in the smooth flow of cash and a review of the receiveable account function is needed for the smooth flow of cash at the Fairfield by Marriott Hotel Surabaya. Using a simple philosophy of phenomenology that is descriptive, three informants from the finance department were determined through in-depth interviews and researcher involvement during the apprenticeship process, the results of which were triangulated with theories on which thinking was based. It was found that the reality on the ground in accordance with the existing theory is that receivable accounts can convert hotel receivables into cash which is an important source of revenue and can be used for operational costs for hotels. If the hotel finances begin to be unhealthy, then it is because there are problems with financial performance, and if this happens continuously the hotel will bear the possibility of losses. The receiveable account section should pay special attention to preparing a billing schedule, making provisions for payments, and providing an assessment of the debtor so that management can determine further strategic steps in maintaining the financial health condition of the company.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to enhance students’ professional attitude and resilience by focusing on key competencies such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, time management, collaboration, and professional ethics. These skills equip students to adapt and compete in dynamic environments.Method – This study adopts an adapted classroom action research approach with a limited trial, focusing on quantitative assessment. Unlike traditional CAR, this study emphasizes a single intervention phase, using pre-tests and post-tests to evaluate students’ professional attitudes and resilience through an eight-item test. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS for comparative hypothesis testing. Findings – The results indicate no significant difference between students' pre-test (3.52) and post-test (3.45) scores, and as shown by the paired sample t-test p-value (0.654 > 0.05), the intervention did not lead to a statistically significant improvement. Several factors contributed to the lack of progress in students’ understanding of professionalism and resilience, including inadequate structured guidance (scaffolding), the absence of reflective sessions after industry visits, and limited discussions on pre-test results. Research Implications – This study highlights that the success of experience project learning in enhancing students' professional attitudes and resilience depends on structured scaffolding. Teachers and mentors must provide systematic guidance throughout the learning process. This study’s limitation is its small sample size at Happy Family High School, which may affect generalizability to other institutions with different student demographics and learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of hedonic motivation, product display, and time scarcity promotions on impulsive buying behavior among Starbucks consumers in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 208 purposively selected Gen Z respondents who had previously engaged in impulsive purchases. The multiple linear regression analysis indicates that all three independent variables significantly and positively influence impulsive buying behavior. Among them, time scarcity promotion shows the most dominant effect, followed by product display and hedonic motivation. These findings suggest that emotional and visually driven marketing strategies, combined with temporal urgency, can effectively trigger unplanned consumer purchases. This study offers practical insights for marketers, particularly in the F&B sector, in developing targeted promotional strategies.
