Abstract

Global challenges such as natural resource depletions, irregular weather pattern, and pollutions were imminent. The Home Green Design proposed by other countries was not suitable to Bali Island because of the local social context. The Balinese House is regulated with the Tri Mandala and Sanga Mandala to achieve the harmonious relations between Macrocosms (Bhuana Agung) and Microcosms (Bhuana Alit) [or Tri Hita Karana]. The Sanga Mandala guides the spatial pattern both on the house and the settlement scale. The Tenganan traditional Village implemented Tri-Mandala which organized the house into the Utama (upper and sacred), Madya (middle and human), and Nista (lower and profane). The Tri Mandala concept is very adaptable to the environment, even in the middle of the economic-driven activities and fast home development. However, the Tri-Mandala really supported the sustainability in the functionality aspect, the social acceptance aspect as well as thermal comfort aspect. Therefore, the Tri Mandala concept could be implemented in the contemporary house design in Bali.

Abstract

Abstract

Emesis Gravidarum is nausea and vomiting experienced by pregnant women, especially in the first trimester. The prevalence of this condition reaches 73.1% in the first trimester and 47.1% in primigravida. WHO data from 2018 shows that 21.5% of pregnant women in the world experience emesis gravidarum at eight weeks of pregnancy. In Indonesia, the prevalence of nausea and vomiting increased from 5.31% in 2018 to 5.42% in 2019. Proper handling is important to prevent more serious conditions such as hyperemesis gravidarum, which occurs in 31% of pregnant women in NTB Province. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) contains gingerol and shogaol, which relieve nausea and vomiting. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of ginger candy as an antiemetic in primiparous pregnant women in Reriu Hamlet, Bagik Payung Village, East Lombok. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design with 31 respondents. The results showed a significant decrease in the Rhodes Index of Nausea, Vomiting, and Retching (RINVR) score from 14.8 to 7.6 after two weeks of giving ginger candy. The Paired T-Test showed a significant difference with a p-value = 0.0001. These results indicate that ginger candy is effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnant women, so it can be used as a safe, non-pharmacological alternative. Keywords:  emesis gravidarum, ginger candy, antiemetic, pregnant women

Abstract

The increase of high-rise buildings in Indonesia is not accompanied by an increase in the professional staff who manage them. This research was conducted because of the high demand for professional staff to manage high-rise buildings. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires by purposive sampling to 92 students in semesters 3 and 5 from two majors, namely Hotel and Tourism Business Major and Interior Architecture major. Quantitative descriptive method was usedwith multiple regression analysis which tested three hypotheses with two independent variables; Career Planning (X1) and University Environment Support (X2) and one dependent variable; Career Preparation (Y). The research results prove that career planning and university environment support have a role in career preparation independently or simultaneously. Thus, it can be concluded that students state the importance of specializing in property management in order to meet professional needs as property managers.

Abstract

Introduction: Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children under five in Indonesia, often exacerbated by low parental knowledge and unfavorable environmental conditions. This community service initiative aimed to address this issue in Lingsar Village, West Lombok, by introducing Baby Spa—a complementary therapy involving infant massage and hydrotherapy—as a measure to improve respiratory hygiene and overall infant health, thereby aiding in the management of ARI. Methods: The intervention was conducted through an educational session and a practical demonstration of Baby Spa techniques. A total of 20 mothers of toddlers with a history of ARI participated in the program. The participants' knowledge and practices regarding ARI management were assessed using a pre-test and post-test questionnaire. Results: The activity demonstrated a significant improvement in the mothers' knowledge and reported practices. The proportion of mothers with good knowledge increased from 10% (pre-test) to 85% (post-test). Similarly, the percentage of mothers demonstrating positive practices for managing ARI in their toddlers rose from 40% to 75% following the intervention. Conclusion: Educational intervention on Baby Spa proved to be highly effective in enhancing maternal knowledge and practices related to ARI management in this community. This approach presents a promising, relevant, and acceptable promotive and preventive strategy that can be integrated into broader public health efforts to reduce the burden of ARI in rural settings.
