Abstract

AbstractThis study ass to describe the effectrvencss of students in solving logic problems ia terms of the mathematical communication skills of students in class X1 of SMA Swadaya in Academic Year  2020 / 2021 . the subjek of the study  are 14 student  of class X1 of private High School in Academic Year 2020/2021.The instrument in this research are 3 essay questions which refers to indicators of  mathematical communication skills. Determination of the sample is done using the total , Sampling technique, Based on the results of data processing, 12 students (85,7%) are belonged to “Hight" category because they are able to complate the three indicators of mathematical communication skills hingt, and 5 students (14,2%) are in medium Category, because they are sbic to complete the three indicators of mathematical communication ability well but are wrong in writing symbols. Keywords: Mathematical Logic, Mathematical Communication Skills, WhatsApp Media. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikann keefektifan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal logika  ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di kelas XI SMA Swasta SwadayaTahun Ajaran 2020/2021. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa kelas X1 SMA Swasta Swadaya Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021. Instrumen soal yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa 3 butir soal berbentuk essay yang mengacu pada indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Total Sampling.Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data, diperoleh sebanyak 12 siswa (85,7%) termasuk dalam kategori “Tinggi”  karena mampu menyelesaikan ketiga indikator kemampuan komunikasi mmatematis tersebut dengan sangat baik, dan 5 siswa (14,2%) termasuk dalam kategori “Sedang” karena mampu menyelesaikan ketiga indikator kemampuan komunikasi mmatematis tersebut dengan  baik namun salah dalam menulis simbol.

Abstract

 AbstractThis study aims to analyze students' critical thinking skills on SPLTV material through a Problem Based Learning model based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research instrument used a test method in the form of critical thinking description questions to analyze the achievement of critical thinking skills and a questionnaire to determine student responses to the implementation of STEM-based PBL on SPLTV material. Research results students have been able to solve problems with a complete score of 73% and reach indicators of critical thinking skills, namely: the ability to generalize, the ability to identify, the ability to formulate problems into mathematical models, the ability to deduce using principles and the ability to provide further explanations. There were 8 students or 27% in the incomplete category and did not reach the indicators of critical thinking skills in working on the questions. Meanwhile, based on the student response questionnaire, it shows that the student response questionnaire with an average percentage of 80.68%, so it can be concluded that students gave a positive response to the implementation of STEM-based PBL learning on SVLTP material with a reliability of 0.82. Student responses at the time of the interview showed that learning with the STEM-based PBL model is a new model and has never been applied by teachers in learning Keywords:  Critical Thinking Analysis, STEM-Based  PBL, SVLTP AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi SPLTV melalui model Problem Based Learning berbasis Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah  kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan metode tes berupa soal uraian berpikir kritis untuk menganalisis ketercapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis dan angket untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap implementasi PBL berbasis STEM pada materi SPLTV. Hasil Penelitian siswa sudah mampu menyelesaikan soal dengan nilai tuntas 73% dan mencapai indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu : kemampuan menggeneralisasi, kemampuan mengidentifikasi, kemampuan merumuskan masalah ke model matematika, kemampuan mendeduksi dengan menggunakan prinsip dan kemampuan memberikan penjelasan lebih lanjut. Terdapat 8 orang siswa atau 27% dalam kategori tidak tuntas dan tidak mencapai indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam mengerjakan soal. Sementara berdasarkan angket respon siswa menunjukkan  bahwa angket respon siswa dengan persentase rata-rata 80,68%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap implementasi pembelajaran model PBL berbasis STEM pada materi SVLTP dengan reliabititas sebesar 0,82. Tanggapan siswa pada saat wawancara menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model PBL berbasis STEM merupakan model yang baru dan belum pernah diterapkan guru pada pembelajaran Kata Kunci : Analisis Berpikir Kritis, PBL Berbasis STEM, SVLTP

Abstract

AbstrakThis study aims to determine the ability of students mathematical representation on arithmetic sequences and series. This type of research is a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 15 students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Air Batu T.A 2020/2021. The test instrument used in this study was in the form of 5 test questions referring to indicators of representational ability including: (1)visual representation ability, (2)mathematical expression representation ability, (3)written representation ability. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that about 73% of students were able to work on visual representation  ability questions and about 27% were less able to work on visual representation problems. While mathematical expression skills, about 53% of students were able to work on mathematical expression representation skills and about 47% were less able to work on mathematical expression representation problems. And for written text abilities, about 33% of students were able to work on written text representation abilities, and about 67% more who have not been able to work on written text representation problems.  Keywords: Sequences and Series, Mathematical Representation Ability. AbtrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada materi barisan dan deret aritmatika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah 15 siswa kelas XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Air Batu T.A 2020/2021. Instrumen tes yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa 5 tes soal yang mengacu pada indikator kemampuan representasi diantaranya: (1)kemampuan representasi visual, (2)kemampuan representasi ekspresi matematis, (3)kemampuan representasi tertulis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa sekitar 73% siswa mampu mengerjakan soal kemampuan representasi visual dan sekitar 27% lagi yang kurang mampu mengerjakan soal representasi visual. Sedangkan kemampuan ekspresi matematis, sekitar 53% siswa mampu mengerjakan soal kemampuan representasi ekspresi matematis dan sekitar 47% lagi yang kurang mampu mengerjakan soal representasi ekspresi matematis. Dan untuk kemampuan teks tertulis, sekitar 33% siswa mampu mengerjakan soal kemampuan representasi teks tertulis dan sekitar 67% lagi yang belum mampu mengerjakan soal representasi teks tertulis.
