Abstract

This research aims to developing STEM-AR-based e-book teaching materials to improve students' scientific reasoning in ecology and biodiversity materials. The development of this research is important as a parameter of 21st-century abilities, which require students to have 4C abilities to face the education era of 4.0. This research method uses Research and Development (R&D). The R&D design chosen was Thiagarajan design consisting of four stages (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) (Thiagarajan, 1974). Class VII students (N = 42) were involved as research subjects who were taken by the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through scientific reasoning tests, student response questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data processing techniques used paired sample T-tests and then performed the N-gain test. The results of the analysis show that after using the STEM-AR-based e-book, there is an increase in scientific reasoning ability, with an N-Gain value of 63% in the medium category. Testing the effectiveness of teaching materials using the SPSS paired sample t-test showed a result of 0.001, which means that STEM-AR-based teaching materials affect students' scientific reasoning. The descriptive average of scientific reasoning has increased by 40%. In addition, students gave positive responses to teaching materials, which made it easier to understand the material

Abstract

Background: Motivation is a series of efforts to achieve certain conditions, so that someone is want to do it. It is known that students' learning motivation is still low, indicated by students' behavior that is less active in learning. The aim of this research is an effort to increase students' learning motivation through a Culturally Responsive Teaching approach to Biodiversity material. Methods: This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), conducted at SMAN 9 Bogor City with research subjects namely class X.7 students, totaling 36 students. The research time for this classroom action was carried out during July-August 2023. This research was carried out collaboratively based on lesson study. In practice, this classroom action research is carried out through stages in cycles, with a series in each cycle, namely the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Results: In cycles 1 and II overall there was a significant increase because all students were motivated so that no students had sufficient motivation in cycles I and II. In cycle I, 17 people (47%) stated that they were motivated and had high motivation and 19 people (53%) stated that they were motivated and had very high motivation in participating in learning activities using the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach. In cycle II students who are motivated and have very high motivation have increased to 29 students (81%) and students who have high motivation are 7 people (19%) students total. Conclusion: ased on the results of distributing motivation questionnaires, it can be seen that there is an increase in students' learning motivation in each cycle. Abstract

Background: This classroom action research was motivated by the low digital literacy skills of students due to the lack of effective and quality literacy resources in schools. The aim of this research is an effort to increase students' digital literacy through the use of flipbook-based Biodiversity e-modules. Methods: This research applies the collaborative PTK method based on lesson study. This research was carried out in class X8 of SMA Negeri 9 Bogor City with 36 students. The instruments used were a digital literacy questionnaire and student response questionnaire, as well as a teacher interview format. Results: The average score obtained in Cycle I was 72.45 which increased to 81.67 in Cycle II, with the percentage of students' digital literacy skills in Cycle II being 83% of the total number of students with Very Good criteria. The average emergence of digital literacy skills in each indicator in Cycle I was in the good criteria (60 - 80) and in Cycle II there was an increase with the average showing very good criteria (81 - 100). The results of the student response questionnaire obtained scores ranging from 81 - 100 in the very good category which is in line with the positive response from teachers regarding the use of the flipbook-based Biodiversity e-module.. Conclusion: The results of all the instruments used show that there is an increase in students' digital literacy skills through the use of flipbook-based Biodiversity e-modules. Abstract

This study aims to develop a holistic assessment instrument based on Computer Based Test (CBT) that meets the criteria of good assessment in the context of learning Environmental Pollution in Junior High School, especially grade VII. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The assessment instrument consists of 30 multiple-choice test items that cover the dimensions of knowledge, attitudes, communication skills, and collaboration skills. The development of questions through the process of item content validity and media validity validated by two competent experts each, peer science teachers and students. The obtained data is then analyzed using: product moment correlation, the Kuder-Richardson-20 (KR-20) formula, the Du Bois formula, and the item discrimination index. Based on the results of item analysis, 26 questions were tested valid and reliable with a reliability score of 0.862. The results of the difficulty test showed 69.23% of the questions were quite difficult, 11.54% of the questions were too difficult, and 19.23% of the questions were too easy. The differentiating power test showed 61.54% of the questions had good differentiating power and 38.46% of the questions were in the sufficient category. Based on these results, the instrument developed has the potential to increase the effectiveness of learning Environmental Pollution in Junior High School, especially grade VII and provide comprehensive information about student achievement in various dimensions of learning.

Abstract

Currently, science and technology is developing very quickly, so efforts are needed to balance this acceleration, especially in the world of education. Innovations in learning must always be done to keep pace with the development of science and technology. engineering design process (EDP) is one of the strategies available to implement STEM education, has been utilized by many STEM-related subjects educators as a mean to implement STEM (Hafiz and Ayop 2019). The engineering design process allows students to use mathematics and science inquiry to create and conduct experiments for potential design solutions.. The purpose of this paper is providing an extensive bibliometric literature review on engineering design process'. Articles obtained from the Google Scholar database using Publishing or Perish (PoP) software. There were 762 out of 999 articles found from Google Scholar data base ranging from 2016 to 2021 analyzed in this study. The chosen references were then managed using a referencing manager software namely Mendeley. In this research, VOSviewer software is used to classify and visualize the database that has been managed. Overall, this review provides an appropriate reference point for further research on engineering design process

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a conservation e-book based on local potential to improve the eco-literacy of junior high school students. The development of the e-book is based on the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) which was conducted on 27 seventh-grade students using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The development instruments were in the form of validation forms, eco-literacy questions, and questionnaires as well as student response surveys to conservation e-books. Analysis was conducted on the results of validation of e-book feasibility, increase in gain value, and hypothesis testing. The results of data analysis showed that the developed conservation e-book was declared valid with a percentage of 93.20% from material experts and 93.39% from media experts. In addition, after using local potential-based conservation e-books, there is an increase in eco-literacy with an average N-Gain value of 0.65 (knowledge competency) and 0.46 (attitude competency, skills, and human relations with nature) respectively, including in the moderate category. The test of the effectiveness of eco-literacy knowledge competence using the Paired-T Test shows a sig. value of 0.000, as well as the competence of attitudes, skills, and human relations with a nature of 0.000. Students' response to the e-book was very good as indicated by a percentage value of 94%. Thus, conservation e-books based on local potential can improve students' eco-literacy and are effectively used in the science learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the STEM-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving students' scientific creativity on the topic "Separation of Mixtures" in class VIII of SMP Negeri 36 Jakarta. The background of this study departs from the need for science learning that is able to foster creativity and critical thinking through contextual and collaborative experiences. The method used is a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design, involving two classes of 36 students each. The experimental class used the STEM-based PjBL model, while the control class applied the Discovery Learning model. Data were collected through creative thinking skills tests and analyzed with SPSS. The results showed a significant increase in students' creativity scores in the experimental class (p = 0.000) with a large to very large effect size based on Cohen's d calculation and Hedges' correction. These findings indicate that STEM-based PjBL has a strong practical effect in developing students' scientific creativity. In conclusion, the implementation of STEM-based PjBL is effective in improving creative thinking skills through contextual, collaborative, and challenging learning, and contributes to strengthening the science education approach that is oriented towards developing 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Observations and literature reviews indicate that vocational school students' critical thinking skills remain low, even though these skills are important for vocational graduates. One reason is the limited availability of interactive teaching materials for the IPAS Project subject. This study aims to develop a STEM-ESD-based e-module for the IPAS Project on Soil Pollution to improve the critical thinking skills of Year 10 vocational school students. The study uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model. The e-module was developed using Heyzine Flipbook. The validation results showed that the e-module was highly valid, with a score of 90% from subject matter experts, 92% from media experts, and 93% from language experts, as well as a very practical response from teachers (93%). The implementation of the e-module resulted in increased critical thinking skills, with an N-Gain score of 0.67 and very positive student responses. This e-module is suitable for use as an innovative teaching material that supports student-centred learning and sustainable education.
