Abstract

Background: Nutritional status during pregnancy is one of the critical factors to determine maternal and fetal development status, which impacts birth weight, perinatal mortality, and infant growth. The Special Region of Yogyakarta government sets a target for reducing the number of maternal and child mortality as a health priority. Monitoring pregnant women's health regularly is crucial as preventive measures and promotive approaches for mothers and fetuses. Primagravida, a web-based system, was developed to assist pregnant women in rural areas in monitoring their health, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study evaluate the usability and users' satisfaction in using Primagravida. Methods: This was quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional design. We conducted the study in the Kalibawang Primary Health Center (PHC) service area between June - October 2021. One hundred ten pregnant women and five midwives participated in this study. Pregnant women were registered and monitored their pregnancy through a web-based service that was integrated with maternal and child health care delivered by the PHC. Pregnant women reported their health status through the Primagravida system periodically and received feedback from the PHC’s midwives. To evaluate users’ usability, the System Usability Scale (SUS), which was developed by Brooke (1996) was utilized while the researcher developed the users’ satisfaction questionnaire to measure satisfaction. Results and Discussion: Results indicated that most of the participants were satisfied with the benefits, information relevance, content adequacy and clarity, platform availability, and up-to-the-minute curated knowledge provided by the system. The utilization of this system reduced the number of visits to PHC since health monitoring could be assessed online. Regarding system usability, respondents reported a score of 70, and the average score of respondents is 66. Conclusion: Primagravida system is well adopted by pregnant women in Kalibawang District, Kulon Progo, to monitor their health and fetal status. Feature development is required to accommodate the upcoming demands in providing holistic maternal and perinatal.

Abstract

Background: Critically ill patients commonly experience sleep disturbance, which has the potential to increase mortality and morbidity. Therefore, implementing interventions to enhance sleep quality is crucial. This study aimed to explore Indonesian nurses' perceptions of patients' sleep and to investigate the relationship between sleep promotion practices and the quality of sleep of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Methods: : A cross-sectional study design was used. A total of 211 nurses working in 10 ICU settings across 14 hospitals in Indonesia were involved using convenience sampling. The SLEEPii questionnaire was used to collect data from nurses who work in ICU for a minimum of one year.  Data was analyzed using frequency, mean (±SD), Median (±IQR), the Spearman Rank test, Kendal tau, and Kruskal-Wallis test. This study was reported in accordance with the STROBE guidelines. Results: 211 nurses from 14 hospitals in Indonesia reported that critically ill patients had sleep duration less than four hours (46.4%) and had fair sleep quality (58.8%). Sleep duration had significant differences between hospital status (p=0.004), and general hospital classification (0.002). Significant differences were also reported between sleep quality with ICU number of each Hospital (p=0.023), hospital status (p=0.047), and general hospital classification (0.032). Even though all participant reported that none of the ICU have protocol to promote sleep, this study found that duration of sleep correlate with control environmental noise levels (p=0.036), receiving medications for sleep (p=0.021), and activity to keeping ICU rooms dark at night (p=0.043), adhere to a clustered sleep protocol designed (p=0.001) and create conditions for a dedicated sleeping (p=0.004). Controlling environmental noise levels also correlated with sleep quality. Conclusion: Most of the critically ill patients had fair sleep quality. Findings suggest the urgent need for standardized sleep promotion protocols in Indonesian ICUs.

Abstract

Introduction: The students of Islamic boarding Schools, as agents of change, often experience complaints of muscle and joint injuries. Assalafiyyah II Mlangi Islamic Boarding School (IBS) was one of the pioneers of an integrated health system to improve health status. However, the condition of health facilities, especially those related to handling injuries, was still very minimal. In addition, the students had never received counseling regarding injury management. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research related to the effect of health education in increasing knowledge about assisting in cases of injury to Healthy Student Cadres (HSCs) of Assalafiyah II Mlangi IBS. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education in increasing knowledge about assisting in cases of injury to healthy students Cadres Assalafiyyah II IBS. Methods: This study was carried out using a quantitative experimental design. A one-group, quasi-experimental pretest-posttest approach was adopted in this study. The 40 healthy student cadres from Assalafiyyah II Mlangi IBS were recruited. The knowledge scores of the pretest (before health education) and post-test (after health education) were compared using the paired sample t-test. Furthermore, the Kruskal-Wallis test examined the relationship between education level and knowledge score. Results: The pretest results showed that the level of knowledge of the subjects in the good category was 5%, adequate was 30%, and poor was 65%. In contrast, the post-test results showed an increase in knowledge scores. In particular, subjects in the good category were 47.5%, adequate was 40%, and poor were as much as 12.5%. This study also showed a significant change in the score of knowledge about assisting in cases of injury to subjects after providing health education in a positive correlation with p= 0.000. The level of education did not affect the results of the knowledge score about assisting in injury cases, with p= 0.072. Conclusion: Providing health education materials effectively increases knowledge about helping Healthy Student Cadres (HSCs) in injury cases. This increase in knowledge can make Healthy Student Cadres (HSCs) pioneers in the surrounding environment regarding the importance of assisting in injury cases.
