Abstract

Abstract.This study describes the naming system and meaning of village names in Banggaae Village, Mangarabombang District, Takalar Regency. This type and research is descriptive qualitative research. The data of this research are the names of villages in Banggae Village. Sources of data obtained are elders and traditional leaders of Banggae Village. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, recording, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, data verification, triangulation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are (a) the village naming system in terms of naming aspects. (b) based on morphological processes (c) based on endocentric phrase formation. The meanings of the names of the villages in Banggae Village are: (1) Jarannika means the horse ridden by the groom; (2) Banggae means fishing gear; (3) Tepok means a village with a broken bridge; (4) Tani means people whose occupations are farmers; (5) Kampung Beru means a village that has not been built for a long time; (6) Garassi means an event that causes people to die and their bodies are full of blood; (7) Bontoa means a large land; (8) Papekang Lambusuk means honest fish finder; (9) Paccendolang means a village that was once a place for making cendol; (10) Bolo means a resident whose occupation is milkfish cultivator; (11) Abdul Rahman Daeng Lili is a regional fighter in Banggae Village.Keywords: Village Name, Meaning and Village Naming System

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning of icons, indices and symbols contained in the process of implementing the seven-monthly appassili in Pasuleang II Takalar Regency seen from Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. This type of research is qualitative research. The data in this study is a form of interpretation related to the meaning contained in the symbols used in the seven monthly appassili in Pasuleang II Takalar District. Sources of data in this study using data sources or informants who act as information centers. The methods used in collecting this research data are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are as follows. The meaning of icons contained in the seven-monthly appassili procession are: (1) buras (burasak), (2) white and black glutinous rice / songkolok (songkolok kebok na lekleng), (3) native chicken (jangang kampong), (4) betel leaf (lekok). The meaning of the index contained in the seven-monthly appassili procession lies in the procession of the tradition, namely: (1) paddupang, (2) bathing, (3) wearing clean clothes, (4) reading appassili intentions and prayers of kindness, (5) massaging the stomach, (6) clamping uring butta. The meaning of the symbols contained in the seven-monthly appassili procession lies in the procession of the tradition, namely: (1) passili leaves (lekok passili), (2) banana leaf shoots (bombong unti), (3) kakdok massingkuluk, (5) pots from the ground (uring butta), (6) lime (pakleok), (7) areca nut (pakrappo), (8) coins (doek rancing), (9) coconut (kaluku), (10) brown sugar ( golla eja), (11) water (jeknek), (12) candle (tai bani), (13) rice (berasak), (14) knife (lading), (15) wooden ladder (tukak pammakkang), (16) cake (kanrejawa picuru), (17) sweet banana (unti tekne), (18) fruits (rappo), (19) cooked eggs (bayao pallu), (20) grilled milkfish (jukuk bolu tunu), (21) pan (pammaja), (22) sarong (lipak ). In general, the meaning contained in the seven-monthly appassili procession of the Pasuleang II community of Takalar Regency is to obtain safety, sustenance, avoid danger / misfortune, a good life and prosperity in the family.Keywords: Symbolic meaning, Appassili seven-monthly, Semiotics of Charles Sanders Pierce

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study is to describe the value of character education of transliteration and translation in Bugis wisdom of Andi hasan Mahmud. Type and design of this study is a description qualitative. The data in this study is written data of an advice that demonstrates the value of character education contained in Bugis transliteration and translation of Andi Hasan Machmud, while the source of the data in this study is Silasa: Setetes Embun di Tanah Gersang by Andi Hasan Machmud. The techniques used to obtain the data in this study include documentation technique, reading technique, and note-writing technique. The technique which was used to analyze the data is miles and Huberman, which consist of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and a deduction/verification. The study has found eleven forms of value of character education of transliteration and translation in Bugis wisdom of Andi hasan Mahmud those are the value of religious, honesty, tolerance, hard work, democracy. curiosity, appreciative achievement, communicative/friendly, peaceable, social concern, and responsibility.Keywords: Value, Character education and wisdom.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan menulis puisi Bugis  siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Watansoppeng Kabupaten Soppeng. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Deskriptif Kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Watansoppengyang berjumlah 32. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan cara sampel total siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Watansoppeng. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu instrumen tersebut yaitu tes mengarang. Teknik analisis yaitu: (1)  Membuat daftar skor mentah; (2) Membuat distribusi frekuensi dari skor mentah; (3) Kategori taraf pencapaian belajar siswa; dan (4) membuat tabel klasifikasi kemampuan siswa sampel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menulis puisi Bugis  siswa kelas VIII SMP negeri 4 Watansoppeng Kabupaten Soppeng dikategorikan tidak terampil dibuktikan dengan nilai yang diperoleh siswa yaitu nilai 0-74 sebanyak 22 orang. Keywords: keterampilan, menulis puisi, bahasa Bugis.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to identify objects and food and to reveal the symbolic meaning of makkuwaélawi ‘akikah’ in the Bugis community in Mattaropurae, Bone Regency based on Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic theory. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to data analysis techniques obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that objects and food are found in the makkuwaelawi tradition, namely icons (1) Sokko surrounded by incense which is made high and above means elevating the status of Mappakuwaélawi people, (2) Manu kampong (free-range chicken). objects and food contained in the makkuwaelawi tradition, namely index (1) Pakdupa (incense), (2) Maccemme ana’ lolo (bathe the baby). Objects and food contained in the makkuwaelawi tradition are symbols (1) utti nisi' (plantain), (2) Kaluku lolo (young coconut), (3) Sokko pute (white sticky rice) and sokko lotong (black sticky rice), (4) Were 'na liling (rice and candles). symbolic meaning can be obtained a clear picture of meaning that the Bugis people in Mattaropurae Bone district interpret objects and food in makkuwaélawi 'akikah' as a symbol of protection, welfare, happiness and sustenance because they are expected when children it's great can be useful for everyone. Keywords: objects and food, symbolic meaning of makkuwaélawi

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to describe (1) The learning design, (2) Iimplementation of learning, and (3) Learning outcomes in implementing the teaching and learning process of the Bugis regional language, this research is expected to provide theoretical and practical benefits. This research is qualitative research namely class observations carried out based on aspects that are directly observed in the implementation of the teaching and learning class. The subjects of this study were 56 students of class X DKV Department at SMK Negeri 1 Barru. Data collection techniques in research namely, observation, tests, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the results of observations on the implementation of the teaching and learning process for the Bugis regional language for class X DKV students at SMK Negeri 1 Barru are well realized based on observations in class. This can be seen from the observations matched on the observation sheet with the implementation of teaching and learning directly, observations of student learning outcomes which can be seen by tests given by the teacher to students, most students are unable to read lontara writing. The results of the study showed that students were active and enthusiastic about learning the Bugis local language by doing a number of things that could encourage learning the Bugis language so as to bring positive changes. The conclusion in this study is that the implementation of the teaching and learning process for class X DKV students at SMK Negeri 1 Barru is categorized as good.Keywords: learning design, implementation, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskriopsikan dunia fenomenal dalam kumpulan cerpen Gadis Pakarena karya Krisna Pabichara berdasarkan teori realitas magis. penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan, yakni proses pencarian data penelitian menggunakan metode membaca dan mencatat objek penelitian sehingga dapat mengumpulkan data-data kepustakaan dari objek yang dianalisis. melalui tiga tahap, yaitu tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan beberapa data yang mengandung dunia fenomenal dalam tiga cerpen yang berbeda yakni. (1) dalam cerpen Laduka ditemukan sebanyak empat data, (2) Cerpen Gadis Pakarena sebanyak empat data. Dan (3) cerpen Arajang sebanyak tiga data. Bentuk dunia fenomenal yang ditemukan adalah tentang cerita ilusi yang seolah-olah dianggap nyata, dunia yang gaib yang masih terhubung dengan manusia, dan kekuatan ghaib manusia yang menyerupai dewa dalam wujud calabai.  Kata Kunci: Dunia fenomenal, realitas magis, cerpen

Abstract

Abstrak. Anak santri yang berada di TKA TPA Hidayatullah adalah anak-anak yang duduk di bangku sekolah dasar. Di Sekolah, mereka juga diajarkan bahasa daerah yang salah satu materinya adalah menulis aksara lontarak Makassar. Namun berdasarkan hasil observasi, beberapa dari mereka belum dapat menulis aksara lontarak Makassar dengan benar. Mereka menganggap menulis aksara lontarak itu sulit. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan mereka kurang berminat dalam belajar menulis aksara lontarak Makassar. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, maka mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Daerah berinsiatif mengajarkan cara menulis aksara lontarak dengan benar. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengabdian ini adalah anak santri merasa sangat mudah menulis aksara lontarak, bahkan beberapa huruf telah mereka hafal.              Kata Kunci:  Kemampuan, Menulis, Lontara

Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study which aims to describe the ability to tell stories in the Bugis language. The population of this research is all class V students of UPT SDN 2 Lejang, Pangkep Regency, 2023/2024 academic year, totaling 50 students. Sampling in this research was carried out using total sampling because the population was less than one hundred. The data collection techniques used in this research were oral test techniques and recording techniques. The data obtained was analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. There are four aspects of assessment used in this research, namely the fluency aspect, the use of intonation aspect, the pronunciation aspect, and the voice volume aspect. Based on the analysis of data obtained from the recapitulation of overall scores, the results show that the ability to tell stories in Bugis language of class V students at SDN 2 Lejang, Pangkep Regency is categorized as unable to be proven from the recapitulation of scores table, even though class V students at SDN 2 Lejang obtained an average score of 78 which is at The score range is above 75 and is in the capable criteria, however the percentage of students who get a score above 75 only reaches 68% and does not reach the specified assessment criteria.
