Abstract

It should be understood that everything always comes with a risk. This applies to everything, from the simple to the most complex. Risk is even present in the effort to love and be loved by someone. The most painful risk of loving is when death comes to pick you up. The Sangihe community seems to have its own way to deal with this. However, this method has drawn pros and cons from many circles, namely by choosing an unusual location for a grave (near one's own residence). This study uses qualitative research methods and Theology of Remembrance theory as the main "surgical section". Through Theology of Remembrance, the researcher examines the Bible text from I Corinthians 11:23-25 and the customs of the Sangihe community in choosing a burial location. After that, these two studies were dialogued to find the strategies of Paul and the Sangihe community in an effort to remember honestly and make peace with the past. This research is expected to reveal the secret behind the habits of the Sangihe people when choosing a burial location and the philosophy behind the habit. The habit of making a grave near the residence/house is an effort by the Sangihe people to remember the past peacefully, both good and bad memories.

Abstract

Love is the foundation for theology but also for doing our duties and responsibilities as Christians. Love is also what moved Jesus to pass on the responsibility of shepherding to the apostles, then later became a mandate for the Church today. Thus, love will always be the main weapon in the Church's efforts to enact Pastoral Counseling. But the next question is, how will love be the answer to today's pastoral challenges? This question needs an answer because pastoral challenges have transformed into more complicated ones. The researcher determined a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach as the method to be used to explore the research problem. To analyze the text of Mark 8:22-26, the hermeneutic method of historical criticism is deemed suitable to exegete the text and then present new meanings in the context of the Church today. This research is expected to provide constructive results for the ministry of Pastoral Counseling in Churches, but also in terms of scientific development of Pastoral Counseling in Christian Theological Universities. In addition, the results of this research will also provide renewal strategies in Pastoral Counseling services for the Church so that these services run well and effectively.

Abstract

This study examines the role of fisher cooperatives in North Minahasa’s coastal communities as hybrid socio-economic institutions that integrate market logic with moral, cultural, and ecological values. It explores how four key dimensions, economic, social, cultural, and ecological, interact within cooperative practices, and how the local value of mapalus (Minahasan mutual cooperation) shapes collective ethics and institutional sustainability. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through participant observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed narratively to uncover meaning structures embedded in fishermen’s social actions. The analysis draws upon Islamic moral economy and institutional theory to interpret how values and norms guide cooperative behavior. Findings reveal that fisher cooperatives serve not only as economic entities providing capital, production inputs, and price stability but also as social spaces that cultivate solidarity, trust, and collective learning. The cultural foundation of mapalus reinforces moral accountability and shared welfare, while ecological practices demonstrate adaptive responses to climate change and marine resource conservation. The study concludes that these cooperatives represent a model of community-based Islamic institutional economics that unites efficiency, ethics, and ecological responsibility. Despite its limited scope, this research provides conceptual insights into how Islamic economic principles can be localized within socio-ecological contexts, offering a foundation for further comparative studies on cooperatives, informal finance, and Blue Economy policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract: Community religion, or what is more commonly known as tribal religion, is often accused of being a religion that is no truer than the official religion. Christian congregations are still trapped in the stigma that places tribal religions in a dichotomy that is far apart from Christianity. This is an action that cannot be accounted for academically because in fact Christian values can be found in tribal religious teachings. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. For the purposes of text analysis, the hermeneutic method of historical criticism is used. The purpose of this study is to examine and then analyze the Christian theological values contained in the concept of I Genggona Langi in understanding the religion of the Sangihe ethnic group in the spotlight of Acts 17:23.Abstrak: Agama masyarakat atau yang lebih sering dikenal sebagai agama suku seringkali dituding sebagai agama yang tidak lebih benar dari agama resmi.
