Abstract

ABSTRACT      This research aims to understand growth and the production of several varieties chili ( Capsicum frutescens L ) that have been carried out in the village Kauneran One subdistrict Sonder for seven months from May until December 2015. The research used random design complete with three varieties treatment namely Taruna, Genie, and Nirmala. Variable observed that is observation age flowering, flowering plants as high, tall plant during harvest time, age harvest, with a heavy fruit, heavy of a fruit without stalk, heavy of a fruit without stalk and seeds, the number of fruit. Using data analyzed test F if there is continued influence treatment by test different real smallest ( LSD ) 5%. The results of the study obtained age flowering of a plant chili the average age flowering from to three varieties chili subjects not markedly dissimilar. Average height plants as flowering, obtained varieties taruna produce average height the highest plants followed varieties genie and the lowest are varieties niramala. Tall plant at harvest varieties taruna has the average highest and the lowest are varieties nirmala. Age harvest the fastest in varieties nirmala followed varieties genie and varieties taruna. Total with a heavy fruit, shows that varieties taruna yields heavy fruit with a highest followed varieties niramala and heavy fruit lowest are varieties genie. Total heavy of a fruit without stalk varieties taruna is the highest followed varieties nirmala lowest varieties genie. Varieties taruna total heavy of a fruit without stalk and seeds highest, followed varieties nirmala and the lowest are varieties genie. Varieties genie produce the average number of fruit highest followed varieties nirmala and the lowest varieties taruna. Based on the research has done inferred varieties taruna has tall plant and weights fruit chili the heaviest, while varieties nirmala having age flowering and the days of crop genjah, and varieties genie obtained the number of fruit most. Of the result of this research suggested can be tested back on land / embankment to get the characteristic appearance of growth and the production of more maximum between varieties. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to study the effect of mulch use on the growth and production of potato crops in the middle plains and to determine the type of mulch suitable for potato crops in the middle plains. This research was conducted in Tompaso II Village District Tompaso, Regency of Minahasa, with the height of 765 mdpl. This study was implemented for 4 months, from May to August 2016. This study used a Completely Randomized Design experiment consisting of 3 treatments with different repetitions. The Treatments are Plastic Silver Black Mulch repeated 3 times, Straw Mulch repeated as much as 4 times and Control repeated 6 times. Based on the result of statistical analysis, there is no significant difference between the treatment can be caused by environmental factors and genetic factors seedings are planted. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, rainfall, light intensity, soil fertility, and the presence or absence of pests and diseases will determine growth and production in plants.Keywords: the potatos, medium plains, mulch

Abstract

ABSTRAC This study aims to determine the development of Abaka bananas (Musa textilis Nee) on Karakelang Island. The results of this study are expected to provide information, for Farmers in the Development of Abaca banana cultivation, on Karakelang Island. in addition, it can support the overall development of Abaca banana cultivation in Talaud Islands Regency. This research was conducted for three months, from December 2018 to March 2019, the location of sampling in Karekelang Island in three districts, namely: Essang District, Essang Selatan District, and Beo Utara District and in each subdistrict each was selected four Village. In each village there are ten Abaka respondents / farmers. This research was conducted by survey using a questionnaire with direct interviews to farmers. The results of the study show that Abaca (rotte) is an endemic Talaud plant which is very suitable for the climate and soil on the karakelang island, with the cultivation system of farmers still traditionally, There is no excessive treatment for Abaca bananas. Farmers intercropping with coconut and durian plants. Excellence Karakelang Island has five regional superior varieties. Planting distance applied by farmers varies greatly, namely 4m x 4m, 4.5m x 4.5m, 5m x 5m while others are still dependent on coconut and Durian as the main crop. Abaca on Karakelang Island can be cultivated at altitudes below 300 m asl which are found in the three research location Districts. Keyword: Potential, Abaka Banana, Development, Karakelang
