Abstract

The view of education in Indonesia is still limited to a narrow concept, comprehensive education includes the three foundations for continuing the need of students, and comprehensive education is not limited to the development of the cognitive and professional aspects, comprehensive education is not limited to classroom education but includes education outside the classroom. Given the importance of comprehensive education and its development at Dar es Salaam University. The researcher saw to choose a topic and saw it under the title, Comprehensive Education at University of Darussalam Gontor.The purpose of this research: 1) to know the extent to which comprehensive education is implemented at University of Darussalam Gontor. 2) Knowledge of the supporting and discouraging factors of comprehensive education University of Darussalam Gontor. This research was a field research of the type of qualitative research (Descriptive Qualitative) the researcher used this type to obtain comprehensive education data at University of Darussalam Gontor. In order to obtain the data needed, the researcher took three approaches, the observational approach, the interview method, and the written documents. For data analysis, the researcher used the Mills and Hubertman approach, where it contains data reduction, data presentation and correlation, analysis of the collection of data collected in a note- and interview manner, written documents, and the authenticity of the data using triangulation.The result of this study can be concluded as follows: 1) The implementation of comprehensive education at University of Darussalam Gontor covers all aspects, and relates to four areas: male, intellectual, taste and sports, and these journals are associated with science, faith and work. 2) For the factors supporting comprehensive education at University of Darussalam Gontor due to the full facilities and environment funding i.e. scholarships and all academic support and student resources. The disincentives to comprehensive education at University of Darussalam Gontor lack facilities, interests and talents, and a decrease in student awareness, lectures and the environment.

Abstract

Analysis of the literature and language of the Qur'an is important and needed in studying the Qur'an, because between them is an important point in understanding it. Islam is a source of guidance that teaches its adherents to always fear Allah in the joints of their lives. However, not a few Muslims have this attitude, other than for reasons their hearts are unsure and turn away from Allah, and because they do not know Allah. This paper examines the verses related to the Khasyatullah in the Al-Qur'an. The analysis was carried out using a Sufistic approach based on the book of commentaries by Ibn Arabi al-Qusyairi, Al-Alusi, al-Tustari, Said Hawwa and Hamka. In the Sufistic view, the meaning of Khasyatullah is the fear of Allah which is possessed by people who have high faith so that it will require them to always fear Allah. Al-Qur'an specializes the owner of this Khasyatullah to scholars, namely people who know the greatness and power of Allah. With the Khasyatullah, a person will always renew repentance, restrain lust, do good deeds, establish social ties, and turn the mosque into a prosperous place that is very much filled by Muslims. Therefore, efforts to create a harmonious society to always be close to and fear Allah can only be achieved through collective sufism.

Abstract

This research addresses the pressing need for an integrated madrasah-Islamic boarding school curriculum as a strategic response to the contemporary challenges demanding graduates with both extensive knowledge and profound religious understanding. With the imperative for cognitive and spiritual intelligence in the disruptive era, the study focuses on MAN 2 Malang City, utilizing a qualitative case study approach involving observations, interviews, and document analysis. The research reveals essential aspects of the integrated curriculum, encompassing unified objectives and organized content planning. The implementation phase includes the integration of academic calendars and a structured supervision framework. The study also emphasizes the significance of an evaluative process covering contextual, input, process, and outcome dimensions. Ultimately, this research underscores the critical role of an integrated curriculum in nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern world, offering valuable insights for educational practitioners and policymakers.

Abstract

Sebagai sekolah menengah yang turut mengajarkan bahasa Arab dengan metode langsung kepada santrinya, metode dan bahan ajar bahasa Arab di pesantren sangat perlu dimutakhirkan. Hal ini dapat dilakukan melalui pemanfaatan MoU kerjasama antar perguruan tinggi yang ada di pesantren tersebut. Kerjasama kegiatan ini diwujudkan dalam bentuk Praktek Pengayaan Lapangan dengan fokus desain pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Pondok pesantren yang dituju, memiliki beberapa kesamaan fokus dengan visi dan misi program studi. Khususnya dalam hal desain bahan ajar. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama 1 pekan. Hasilnya, realisasi kegiatan ini menghasilkan rekomendasi bahwa: 1) penyusunan bahan ajar harus mempertimbangkan aspek geografis dan jadwal keseharian pesantren. 2) bahan ajar harus mengandung terjemah dalam 2 bahasa: Indonesia dan Inggris. 3) pengajaran lebih efektif jika melibatkan pengurus pondok dari santri.

Abstract

This research analyses the development of critical thinking skills in activities organized by academic forums at the Gontor Modern Boarding School. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. Analysis in three stages collection, reduction, and verification. The findings of this study highlight the importance of critical thinking, which is essential for higher-order cognitive skills and education at all levels. Gontor Islamic Boarding School which accommodates various groups such as the ITQAN (Ilmi, Tarbawy, Qur'any) Group, an academic forum, prioritizes the development of critical thinking skills, placing great emphasis on fostering critical thinking through various activities including scientific discussions, critical reading, observation, cultivating a sense of be curious, and encourage reflection. These activities improve analytical and synthesis skills, problem-solving abilities, inference and evaluation skills, and explanation skills, thereby enabling strategic thinking among students. This study also identified several supporting factors, such as a conducive scientific environment and supportive supervisors, and inhibiting factors such as administrator competency problems, low student involvement, irregular scheduling, and inadequate facilities. In particular, this research uniquely focuses on explaining 12 indicators of critical thinking abilities, which are categorized into 5 aspects according to Robert Ennis. Despite the challenges, this illustrates how Gontor developed these aspects in the ITQAN Group (Ilmi, Tarbawy, Qur'any) by highlighting inhibiting and supporting factors.

Abstract

Prenatal education holds profound significance in both Islamic and Western perspectives, with scholars like Sa’i>d Bin Ali Bin Wahf Al-Qaht}a>ni> and John Santrock offering valuable insights to the understanding of prenatal education by highlighting the common ground and differences between Islamic and Western perspectives. This research aims to delve into the concept of prenatal education from two different perspectives: Islamic perspective according to Sa’i>d Bin Ali Bin Wahf Al-Qaht}a>ni> and Western perspective according to John Santrock. Utilizing a qualitative approach with content analysis. The research question formulation used in this study is a comparative formulation. Both perspectives emphasize the importance of caring for the fetus during pregnancy, but they differ in focus. Al-Qaht}a>ni  highlights religious and moral aspects, while Santrock emphasizes the mental and physical health of the mother. The findings suggest that educators can integrate religious teachings into prenatal education practices, guided by interpretations from Islamic scholars. The research underscores the potential for educators to integrate religious teachings into prenatal education practices, aligning with Islamic principles. It emphasizes the role of parents in prioritizing prenatal education and provides a foundation for further research in this area.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research addresses the low learning scores of 6th-grade students at SDIT Hadlonah Darussalam, Ponorogo, in Islamic Religious Education. The issues stem from a lack of student engagement and limited teaching methods, primarily lectures, leading to boredom and suboptimal learning. The study aims to (1) enhance student engagement and (2) improve learning outcomes using Canva-based interactive learning media. The research follows two cycles: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, involving both teachers and observers as researchers. Data was collected through observation sheets, student test results, and documentation. Results show that Canva-based media positively influenced the learning environment. Student activity increased from 46.29% in the first cycle to 87.50% in the second, a 41.21% improvement. Learning outcomes also improved; the percentage of students achieving the minimum competency level (KKM) rose from 26% in the first cycle to 82% in the second. Thus, the study concludes that Canva-based interactive learning media can effectively enhance student engagement and outcomes. The researcher suggests that teachers innovate by integrating flexible and supportive learning media, and future studies should explore different templates, elements, or subjects to further develop Canva's application in education.

Abstract

The book Tadhkirat al-Sami‘ wa’l-Mutakallim by Ibn Jama‘ah is a seminal work in the Islamic educational tradition, addressing the ethics and roles of teachers in the teaching process. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers as envisioned by Ibn Jama‘ah, focusing on the concepts of teachers as leaders of knowledge, ethical educators, and moral guides, while exploring its relevance to contemporary education. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The primary source is the book Tadhkirat al-Sami‘ wa’l-Mutakallim, complemented by secondary literature from books and academic journals. The analysis integrates classical and modern educational theories. The findings reveal that Ibn Jama‘ah regards teachers as central figures with significant responsibilities, not only in transferring knowledge but also in shaping students’ character through moral and spiritual example. These concepts, such as the importance of teachers' ethics and harmonious teacher-student relationships, remain relevant for character education in the modern era. The research implies the necessity of integrating moral and spiritual values into contemporary education to address global challenges such as ethical crises and dehumanization in educational systems. However, the study's focus on classical literature highlights the need for further empirical exploration to test its implementation in modern educational contexts. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic education by providing an in-depth analysis of Ibn Jama‘ah's concepts, which are rarely systematically addressed in contemporary research. The findings offer original insights bridging the tradition of classical Islamic education and the challenges of modern education.
