Abstract

The abundance and biomass of earthworms are affected by soil tillage and fertilization. This research aimed to study long-term 32nd-year soil tillage and nitrogen fertilization on the population and biomass of earthworms under Zea mays L. The research was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) which consisted of two factors. The first factor was the soil tillage that was Intensive Tillage (IT), Minimum Tillage (MT), and No-Tillage (NT). The Second factor was nitrogen fertilization that was N0 = 0 kg N ha-1 and N1= 200 kg N ha-1. Data of earthworm population and biomass were tested using analysis of variance and continued with the least significant difference (LSD) test at the 95% significant level. The population and biomass of earthworms at MT or NT were higher than IT. The population and biomass of earthworms in the plots without fertilization were higher than those at 200 kg N ha-1. There was an interaction between the soil tillage and N fertilization on earthworm biomass observed 60 days after planting at a 0-10 cm depth. There was a positive correlation between soil pH and earthworm population and biomass before the tillage phase.

Abstract

Studying the weathering process in pristine volcanic materials is crucial as this process will determine further soil characteristics. Mount Anak Krakatau is reported as one of the fastest-growing volcanoes. This volcano erupted powerfully in December 2018, ejecting tons of volcanic materials. These materials are considered pristine and unweathered tephra. Hence, a leaching experiment can be one of the crucial methods to predict further soil characteristics formed as climatic factors. Tephra sampling was conducted on 13 Augustus 2019 or eight months after the massive eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau in December 2018. Tephra samples were leached by deionized water (H2O), oxalic acid (H2C2O4) 0.02 M, and citric acid (C6H8O7) 0.02 M (solvents) for 90 days. pH of tephra increased approximately from  (3.95– 4.99 ) to (5.12–8.11). Organic-C rose about 0.2 to 1 point higher than organic-C of tephra before the leaching experiment. The increasing value of organic-C was predicted to increase CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity) (2.13–5.36 cmolc kg-1). After the leaching experiment, the tephra’s surface was weathered clearly as an impact of solvents and the growing of algae.

Abstract

Kesadaran menjaga lingkungan sekitar merupakan salah satu karakter yang harus ditanamkan kepada anak sejak dini. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan dengan melaksanakan Program Adiwiyata di sekolah. Program Adiwiyata merupakan salah satu program yang mengajarkan siswa untuk peduli dan sadar akan pentingnya menjaga lingkungan. Berdasarkan pemaparan di atas, lebih lanjut tertarik untuk melakukan pengabdian masyarakat berupa implementasi program Adiwiyata di sekolah. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa mengenai lingkungan di MIM Potronayan 2. Pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan metode pendidikan masyarakat yang difokuskan pada warga sekolah terutama para siswa di MIM Potronayan 2. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Adiwiyata di MIM Potronayan 2 menunjukkan perubahan yang cukup signifikan. Siswa yang awalnya kurang paham mengenai pentingnya menjaga lingkungan sekitar menjadi lebih tahu dan menyadari betapa pentingnya menjaga lingkungan sekitar mereka. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusias para siswa dalam menjaga tanaman yang telah mereka tanam dan juga kesadaran mereka untuk membuang sampah pada tempatnya. Oleh karena itu, program Adiwiyata merupakan salah satu program yang sangat baik untuk dilaksanakan di sekolah sebagai salah satu usaha penanaman karakter cinta lingkungan sejak dini.

Abstract

This paper describes the implementation of functional position conception by the INP. The literature discussing the concept in specific and near terms is investigated. The functional position is widely discussed in the Indonesian literature. However, the direct term (the functional position) is hardly found in Western literature. The near term is the professional. The term discussion is associated with changing from a hierarchical to a flat and agile organisation. The flat and agile structure facilitates the work of cross-functional project teams (CFTs) and professionals. Moreover, the flat and agile structure means fewer managers, enlarging the professionals' roles. However, the police of some countries have not yet streamlined their structures to flat and agile organisations (including the Indonesian National Police [INP]).  This study is conducted through a literature review and document analysis. The global literature is reviewed narratively to explore the functional position concept. Subsequently, the functional position application in the INP is studied from the act, regulations and other documents.  The INP has developed various functional positions within the organisation since the inception of the Police Act 2002. Besides, the INP develops supporting elements for functional positions. The INP's units, officers, and CFTs may be more capable of handling policing problems by applying for the functional position initiative.   This study introduces the concept of the functional position of the INP to the global literature. The concept may be studied further to understand its mechanism and effectiveness in improving policing.

Abstract

Permasalahan pasca panen jagung yang dihadapi oleh petani desa Sindang Sari kecamatan Tanjung Bintang kabupaten Lampung Selatan adalah memipil jagung. Proses pemipilan yang biasa dilakukan petani selama ini dilakukan dengan cara tradisional atau semi mekanis, sehinga membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama dan kurang efisien. Selain cara tersebut petani membawa hasil jagungnya ke pabrik pemipil dengan biaya yang cukup besar, sehingga nilai jual jagung menjadi menurun. Hal ini dikarenakan mahalnya harga alat pemipil jagung yang tersedia dipasaran dan juga petani belum mengetahui teknologi untuk pembuatan mesin pemipil jagung. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka diperlukan pembuatan mesin pemipil jagung yang portable yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas petani dalam hal pemipilan jagung. Pada implementasi ini dilakukan pengembangan desain serta pembuatan alat pemipil jagung berskala industri rumah tangga dengan menggunakan mata pisau jenis rotary spiral. Jenis mata pisau ini memiliki ke unggulan yakni lebih efektif untuk memipil jagung jenis grigi (konvensional). Dari hasil pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan, terciptanya mesin pemipil jagung skala industri rumah tangga dapat membantu pekerjaan petani dalam hal pengolahan jagung kering mapaun jagung basah sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil produksi jagung dalam bentuk jagung yang sudah dipipil.
