Abstract

To keep the CNC milling machine from being broken down quickly requires proper care and operation to extend the life of the machine. However, long-term machine break down, although not desirable, will be unavoidable. In this research we try to model the distribution of the engine breaking down probability by considering the first failure of the machine, which will be useful to predict the amount of machine failure in the future and also we model the cost of corrective maintenance. From the modeling results using several assumptions with the help of one of the statistical software obtained the rate of failure of CNC milling machine 55 mill which is in the laboratory of CNC machine is obtained weibul distributed from the modeling results and corrective maintenance cost of pareto which can be used in the prediction of the price of this machine's insurance premium.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of immersive technologies has created new opportunities to improve learning effectiveness, particularly in technical education such as microcontroller systems. Conventional teaching methods still rely heavily on static visualizations and theoretical explanations, which limit students' ability to understand complex hardware interactions. A mixed reality (MR)-based learning application was developed to improve students' conceptual understanding of microcontroller components and their functions in an interactive and immersive environment. The development process followed the Luther–Sutopo multimedia development method, consisting of six stages: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The application was built using Unity and Blender and deployed on the Oculus Meta Quest 2 platform. Usability testing involved 10 vocational students with prior knowledge of microcontrollers. The application achieved an average usability score of 4.54 out of 5 (90.8%), placing it within the "very feasible" category. Beyond feasibility metrics, the system appeared to strengthen students' spatial understanding, engagement, and interaction with microcontroller components. These findings suggest that pairing mixed reality with a structured multimedia development model can meaningfully improve the effectiveness of technical education.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of residents in Babussalam Village, Rokan Hulu Regency, in processing fruit waste into environmentally friendly energy through simple pyrolysis technology. The activity addresses the abundance of unutilized fruit waste that potentially causes environmental pollution. Conducted on October 30, 2025, with 20 participants from the local community and BUMDes Babussalam, the activity employed participatory methods including socialization, technical training, and ongoing mentoring. Results showed an 85% understanding level of renewable energy, based on pre-test and post-test evaluations improving from 45% to 85%. Participants successfully produced bio-oil and activated charcoal through direct pyrolysis practice using equipment developed from applied research. A village working group was also established under BUMDes Babussalam coordination to develop self-sufficient energy initiatives. The activity proves that integrating applied research, appropriate technology, and community participation creates an effective model for community-based energy empowerment, supporting national energy security and Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 on clean energy and Goal 11 on sustainable communities.
