Abstract

The potential of hydropower energy in Indonesia is very large, the country of Indonesia has small rivers that continous to flow in the irrigation canal. Hydrokinetic energy can be used in savonius turbines, with the density of water greater than the density of air, the Savonius hydrokinetic turbine can extract sufficient kinetic energy even at low water flow rates.The purpose of this study was to determine the static torque and dynamic torque produced from savonius turbine type of bach three- blades.The hydrokinetic turbines studied were savonius turbine type of bach three- blades with aspect ratio of 1.1, overlap ratio 0.2, rotor height (H) 0.3m, rotor diameter (D) 0.33m, turbine diameter (d) 0, 3m, and with variations in the velocity of water flow (V) 0.3 m / s and 0.65 m / s the test is carried out in a water tunnel. Both of these torsions are obtained in stationary conditions (static torque) for the azimuth each angle and moving conditions (dynamic torque) of no load and until it stops rotating. By utilizing the braking force on pulley with variations in loading. Based on the data obtained, the results of savonius turbine type of bach three- blades. research result in dynamic torque of 0.456 Nm and 0.816 Nm, for the average static torque produced is 0.427 Nm and 0.788 Nm at each azimuth angle.Keywords : Savonius Turbine, Static Torque, Dynamic Torque

Abstract

A heat exchanger is a device used to exchange or change the temperature of a fluid by exchanging heat with another fluid. One of the heat exchangers is a surface type condenser where the steam is separated from the cooling water, the steam is outside the pipes while the cooling water is in the pipes at PT. SOCIMAS. At PT. SOCIMAS, the condenser is part of the main cooling system which functions to condense steam into water and maintain the efficiency and work cycle of the turbine high. For this reason, this final project report focuses on condenser analysis. The results obtained from this final project are the value of the inner convection coefficient of 4056.6827 W/(m2.K) and the outer convection coefficient of 97414.18W/(m2.K) . value of heat transfer rate and effectiveness (ε) on the condenser PT. SOCIMAS obtained a heat transfer rate of 153.6001264 MW. While the effectiveness (ε), obtained 0.99571 % This shows that the condition of the condenser is quite good, because the steam can go to the condenser, so that the rate of heat transfer and the effectiveness of the condenser are able to condense the steam into liquid.

Abstract

This study investigates the performance of TiAlN/TiN PVD-coated carbide tools in high-speed, dry machining of AISI 1070 alloy steel. AISI 1070 is a high-carbon steel known for its exceptional hardness, making tool wear a significant challenge. The research focuses on evaluating tool wear, wear mechanisms, and optimal cutting parameters. Quantitative assessments of flank wear (VB) were conducted, alongside detailed Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analyses to identify the primary wear mechanisms, such as abrasion and adhesion. The study determined that the optimal cutting conditions for minimal tool wear include a cutting speed of 231 m/min, a feed rate of 0.1 mm/rev, and a depth of cut of 1 mm. The TiAlN/TiN coatings significantly enhanced the tools' wear resistance and longevity, maintaining their cutting-edge sharpness under strenuous conditions. Additionally, the coatings effectively minimized the formation of white layers on the machined surface, preserving the mechanical properties and surface integrity of the alloy. These findings demonstrate the coatings' superiority in reducing friction and heat generation during high-speed machining. The study provides valuable insights for industrial applications, highlighting the potential of TiAlN/TiN-coated carbide tools to improve tool performance, operational efficiency, and overall productivity in high-speed machining environments.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada mahasiswa tentang optimalisasi pemanfaatan teknologi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran hukum dan ekonomi masyarakat desa. Dengan pendekatan daring, program ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang potensi teknologi sebagai alat pemberdayaan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan daring, diskusi interaktif, dan simulasi kasus. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu memahami konsep dasar hukum dan ekonomi serta cara memanfaatkan teknologi untuk membantu masyarakat desa. Edukasi ini berkontribusi dalam mencetak generasi muda yang peka terhadap isu sosial dan memiliki keterampilan praktis dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya membekali mahasiswa dengan pemahaman teknologi, tetapi juga meningkatkan empati dan tanggung jawab sosial mereka dalam mendukung pembangunan desa yang berkelanjutan. Harapannya, edukasi semacam ini dapat terus dilakukan untuk mendorong peran mahasiswa dalam menghadirkan solusi inovatif di bidang hukum dan ekonomi masyarakat desa.

Abstract

The turning process is one of the most widely used lathe machining techniques in manufacturing, involving the interaction between the machine tool, workpiece, and cutting tool. During cutting, friction between the chisel and the workpiece generates excessive heat, with most cutting energy converted into heat. This study examines the effect of cutting speed on temperature in chisels, chips, and ST41 carbon steel workpieces at various lathe speeds. Using an experimental method, cutting speeds of 260 RPM, 560 RPM, and 800 RPM were tested. Data collected included lathe rotation speed, specimen temperature, chisel temperature, chip temperature, cutting depth, and chip mass. Results show that temperature increases with cutting speed. At 260 RPM, the chisel temperature was 38.46°C, the workpiece 36.83°C, and the chip 36.21°C. At 800 RPM, the highest tool temperature was 65°C, the workpiece reached 62.33°C, and the chip 48.56°C. This indicates that higher cutting speeds generate more heat, making the turning process more thermally intensive.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed marketing strategies, especially for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas. This community service program was conducted in Penyasawan Village, Kampar Regency, aiming to improve the digital marketing capabilities of local culinary MSMEs through training in the use of the Canva design application. The main problems faced by the MSMEs in the village include limited knowledge of digital marketing, lack of design skills, and financial constraints to hire professional graphic designers. This program provided a practical solution by organizing a hands-on training session on how to create promotional materials such as posters, banners, and social media content using Canva. The training involved 20 MSME participants and was implemented through several stages: preparation, implementation, and monitoring-evaluation. The results showed an increase in participants' abilities to independently design effective promotional materials, which are expected to expand their market reach and increase product sales. This activity not only enhanced digital literacy among MSMEs but also supported the growth of the local economy through improved promotional strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of buoy frame width on the stability response time of water motorbikes, focusing on their ability to regain equilibrium after tilting. Water motorbikes are innovative vehicles designed to navigate flood-prone areas where conventional motorcycles cannot operate effectively. To enhance stability, buoyant frames of varying widths—40 cm, 45 cm, and 50 cm—were tested at three initial tilt angles: 5°, 10°, and 15°. The research employed an experimental approach, utilizing digital inclinometers to measure tilt angles and stopwatches to record response times. Data analysis revealed that frame width significantly affects stability, with wider frames yielding faster response times. For instance, at a 5° tilt angle, the 50 cm frame achieved a response time of 3.12 seconds, compared to 4.84 seconds for the 40 cm frame. Similarly, wider frames consistently outperformed narrower configurations across all tested angles. ANOVA results confirmed the statistical significance of the findings, with p-values less than 0.05. The results demonstrate that increasing the width of buoy frames enhances the stability of water motorbikes, making them more efficient and reliable for use in flood-affected areas. These findings provide valuable insights into the design and optimization of water motorbikes, contributing to safer and more practical solutions for flood navigation.

Abstract

The implementation of digital marketing through social media has proven effective in increasing product sales and visibility, particularly for small businesses such as Rumah Mutiara Cake MSMEs. Digital marketing strategies not only focus on boosting sales but also play a key role in building an active community, expanding market reach, and strengthening relationships between entrepreneurs and consumers. This project aims to explore the implementation of digital marketing at Rumah Mutiara Cake MSMEs in Bengkalis District, develop an appropriate digital marketing framework, conduct a SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and examine the challenges and solutions encountered during the digital marketing process. The project was carried out through several stages, including preparation, implementation, completion, and reporting, located at Jalan Kelapapati Darat, Bengkalis. The results indicate that implementing digital marketing strategies through social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok, has significantly improved the number of followers, customer engagement, and product sales within one month. This demonstrates that optimal use of social media can serve as an effective tool to support the sustainability and growth of MSMEs in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur dampak penerapan Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) terhadap waktu henti mesin di industri manufaktur dengan menggunakan metode studi literatur. TPM adalah pendekatan manajemen pemeliharaan yang melibatkan partisipasi total dari seluruh karyawan dengan tujuan meningkatkan efektivitas peralatan dan mengurangi pemborosan, termasuk waktu henti mesin. Studi literatur menunjukkan bahwa penerapan TPM secara signifikan dapat mengurangi frekuensi dan durasi waktu henti mesin, meningkatkan keandalan peralatan, dan meningkatkan produktivitas keseluruhan. Faktor-faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan penerapan TPM meliputi komitmen manajemen, pelatihan dan pendidikan karyawan, budaya organisasi yang mendukung, serta penggunaan teknologi canggih seperti Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, dan kecerdasan buatan (AI). Meskipun menghadapi tantangan seperti resistensi terhadap perubahan dan biaya implementasi yang tinggi, manfaat jangka panjang dari TPM membuatnya menjadi strategi yang berharga bagi industri manufaktur. Integrasi teknologi digital lebih lanjut memperkaya penerapan TPM dan membuka peluang baru untuk peningkatan efisiensi operasional di era industri 4.0.

Abstract

A Very rapid population growth has resulted in fossil energy being gradually depleted and environmental pollution getting worse. So far, burning fossil fuels has produced about 40% of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, which are considered a major source of greenhouse gases. The Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) has become the main power source for cars, trucks, locomotives, and ships. In ordinary diesel engines, less than 45% of the fuel energy can be converted into useful work output from the crankshaft, and the remaining energy is largely lost through exhaust gases and jacket water. One way that can be done is to utilize the waste from the internal combustion engine (ICE). This method uses the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system by utilizing the wasted heat generated by the Diesel engine when operating, through the engine coolant coming out of the engine gap (water jacket) to the radiator. In this study, the study focused on the exergy analysis of each component in the ORC system integrated in the diesel engine cooling unit which was simulated using Aspen Plus software. The analytical method used in this study is the exergy method with variations in ambient temperature of 20oC, 21oC, 22oC, 23oC, 24oC, 25oC, 26oC, 27 oC, and 28 oC using the working fluid R141B. The results showed that the greatest exergy destruction was found in the components of the pump, evaporator, and turbine.
