Abstract

The aims of the research were to find out the students’ reading comprehension in legend before using Make a Match Strategy, beside, to know the students’ difficulties in improvement reading comprehension by using Make a Match Strategy, and also to find out the students’ improvement by using Make a Match Strategy in reading comprehension at the grade VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Panyabungan. The writer applying this research with Classroom Action Research (CAR) used e-class was using Whats App. The subject of research was the grade VIII-1 students of SMP Negeri 1 Panyabungan. They were 30 students. The resulted shown students’ reading comprehension improves significantly, it shown from the resulted students’ percentage of pretest was 13,33%, cycle I was 53,33 %, and in cycle II was 90%. Make a Match Strategy can help students to improve reading Comprehension.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to determine the factors of student’s speaking anxiety at grade IX of SMP N1 Sibolga  and (2 )how is the strategy of student’s at grade IX of SMP N1 Sibolga to minimize it  This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Then, the data collection was carried out through observation and interviews. Based on the research results, the factors that caused the student’s anxiety were communication anxiety, golden test, negative judgment, and teacher personality attitude, then the strategies used by the student were relaxation, positive thinking, peer search, preparation and non-verbal communication. Through this research, it is hoped that the student can decrease their anxiety by following strategies and it will be helpful to enhance their speaking ability

Abstract

The research purpose is to improve writing skill on writing announcement text by using Gallery Walk Technique (GWT). It is conducted by using Classroom Action Research as the methodology of the research. The technique of analyzing the data by quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative data apply the tests, wether the qualitative are observation sheet, interview and photography evidence. This research accomplished in three terms, the first is pre-test, then first cycle, the last is second cycle and each cycle consisted of four steps of action research (planning, acting, observing, and reflecting). Pre-test conducted in one meeting, the first cycle conducted in two meetings and the second cycle conducted also in two meetings. In this research, the researcher uses 5 indicators, they are content, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics. In pre-research, most of the participants are still not able to mastered the indicators. After that, in first cycle there is an improvement on participants’ test. In this cycle, organization and mechanics became indicators that are quite confusing for them. The last, in second cycle 87% of the students have mastered 5 indicators of success mentioned above. As the conclusion, there is an improvement on writing announcement achievement from pre-test, first cycle and second cycle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk campur kode bahasa Batak Angkola ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia serta factor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya peristiwa campur kode guru dengan siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Siamporik, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah dekskriptif kualitatif dengan melakukan observasi dan interview dalam pengambilan data. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan yaitu terjadi campur kode tataran kata dan tataran frasa bahasa batak Angkola ke bahasa Indonesia, sedangkan penyebab peristiwa campur kode ini adalah: kedwibahasaaan dalam masyarakat, dan adanya unsur kebiasaan.

Abstract

This research is an idea to overcome the problems faced by a group of children in Kayu Jati Village, Panyabungan, Mandailing Natal. The purpose of this research is to build the English literacy motivation of the children's group to gain knowledge and implement it by speaking English and reading English texts. The core of English literacy in this study is digital literacy or the use of media or Monkey Stories application as a source of reading and introduction to vocabulary and other activities available in the application.Monkey Stories application is a complete application that teaches children to listen, speak, read and write in English and is intended for children 2-10 years old. The learning methods provided by 'Monkey Stories' address most of these issues. All the audio in the app is recorded by native speakers and rated by leading  language experts. So the group of children can easily understand the English words and follow the instructions explained in the app. With an attractive and illustrated display, it certainly helps in fostering children's interest in English literacy.Key word : Literacy, English, Group of Children, Monkey Stories

Abstract

The connection between language and culture becomes increasingly evident when the Thai language influences the variations of Jawi Malay dialects in Narathiwat. This research aims to analyze the impact of Thai language interference on the dialectal variations of Malay language in Narathiwat, Thailand, using a sociolinguistic approach. We investigate changes in language, including vocabulary usage, phonological shifts, and social influences in the everyday situations of Narathiwat society. The research methods involve interviews, surveys, text analysis, and observations in everyday contexts. The expected outcomes are to enhance understanding of language dynamics in Narathiwat, which plays a crucial role in preserving cultural and linguistic identities in a multilingual environment. This study has the potential to provide valuable insights into the preservation and maintenance of Malay language in Narathiwat, emphasizing the importance of language and sociolinguistic research in areas with strong language influences and significant cultural blends. This abstract covers the research background, objectives, research methods, research findings, discussion, conclusion, and research implications, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the scope and relevance of this study

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi keuangan anak sejak dini melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis permainan interaktif dan kuis di SD Sitampa Simatoras. Metode yang digunakan adalah edukatif partisipatif dengan pendekatan game-based learning, yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, persiapan media, pelaksanaan edukasi melalui permainan dan kuis, praktik menabung, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa metode yang diterapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar keuangan, seperti menabung, membedakan kebutuhan dan keinginan, serta mengelola uang saku secara sederhana. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme dan partisipasi yang tinggi selama kegiatan berlangsung, yang menandakan bahwa pendekatan interaktif lebih efektif dibandingkan metode konvensional. Evaluasi melalui observasi dan kuis juga memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa setelah mengikuti kegiatan. Dengan demikian, pengabdian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam membentuk kebiasaan finansial yang positif pada anak serta merekomendasikan pentingnya integrasi literasi keuangan secara berkelanjutan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar guna mendukung terbentuknya generasi yang cerdas secara finansial

Abstract

This study aims to improve children's literacy in Simatorkis Village through the implementation of guided learning strategies in the 2025 Community Service Program (KKN). The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data. The study was conducted from October to December 2025. The subjects consisted of 20 elementary school-aged children who participated in the four-week learning assistance program. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed an increase in children's literacy skills, including reading fluency, reading comprehension, and simple writing skills. The children's average literacy scores increased significantly after the implementation of the guided learning strategy. This strategy is effective because it provides gradual support, creates an interactive learning environment, and increases children's motivation and self-confidence. Therefore, guided learning strategies in KKN activities can be an alternative solution to improving children's literacy in rural areas and supporting the creation of an intelligent generation by 2025.
