Abstract

The effect of the anode fl ow fi eld design on the performance of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) with an active area 9 cm2 was investigated experimentally. 3-channel serpentine, 5-channel serpentine and modifi - cation of serpentine-parallel fl ow fi elds has similar channel cross section, 1.35 mm for channel width, 0.55 mm for channel depth, and 0.7 mm for the land between channels. They were tested with hydrogen fl ow rate of 50 ml/min, oxygen flow rate of 250 ml/min, pressure 1.5 Bar, and dew point temperature 80C at 100% relative humidity. The experimental results obtained from measurement of current (I) and potential (V) indicated that 3-channel serpentine exhibited higher performance than others even though it was not so significant. At current density of 20 mA/cm2, modification serpentine-parallel design showed signifi cant potential drop, probably due to turbulence gas flow inside the channel. Open circuit voltage (OCV) for 5-channel serpentine was 6% lower than those two designs. Finally, it was demonstrated that the maximum power of the fuel cell stack were 146 mW, 139 mW, 132 mW for 3-channel serpentine, 5-channel serpentine, and modifi cation parallel-serpentine, respectively.

Abstract

This study investigates the development of tourist attractions at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) following its revitalization, using the 4A framework: Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancillary Services. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied, with data analyzed using Nvivo 12 Plus to facilitate thematic coding and identify patterns from interviews and observations. The findings highlight substantial improvements across all 4A components. TMII’s attractions, including regional pavilions, museums, and thematic parks, have diversified and enhanced, appealing to a broader range of visitors. Accessibility has been significantly improved through upgraded transportation infrastructure, such as roads and public transit options. Enhanced amenities, including parking facilities, restrooms, and dining areas, have increased visitor convenience and satisfaction. Ancillary services, such as information centers and interactive educational activities, further enrich the tourism experience. Additionally, three key post-revitalization dimensions are identified: physical, economic, and social. The physical dimension involves the development of attractions, infrastructure upgrades, and environmental conservation efforts. Economically, TMII has expanded income sources, empowered small and medium enterprises, invested in infrastructure, and hosted events, strengthening its position as a premier destination. Socially, TMII serves as a center for education, cultural engagement, and community interaction, fostering a dynamic and inclusive social environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and formulate a development strategy for homestays in Sukajadi Tourism Village, Tamansari District, Bogor Regency, using the SWOT analysis framework. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and field observations involving six homestay units and key stakeholders, including the Chairman of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). The findings reveal that the internal condition of homestay management in Sukajadi Village is weak (total IFAS score: 1.74), primarily due to deficiencies in hygiene, facility standards, safety, access to information, and unprofessional operational and financial management. Although the homestays possess a key strength in the form of the owners’ hospitality, these weaknesses significantly limit the ability to leverage external opportunities such as growing tourist interest in authentic experiences and government support. From an external perspective, the homestays demonstrate a moderately responsive position (total EFAS score: 2.46) but face serious threats from competition with modern accommodations and rising tourist expectations. The study underscores the urgency of improving service quality, strengthening management capacity, and enhancing human resources through continuous training. Collaborative efforts among homestay owners, Pokdarwis, and local government are crucial to establish minimum operational standards, improve infrastructure, and promote authentic local experiences to achieve sustainable homestay development and meaningful community empowerment.   Keywords: Homestay, Community Empowerment, SWOT Analysis, Tourism Village
