Abstract

The problem of internet pricing is a problem that is often a major problem in optimization. In this study, the internet pricing scheme focuses on optimizing the use of bandwidth consumption. This research utilizes modification of cloud model in finding optimal solution in network. Cloud computing is computational model which is like network, server, storage and service that is utilizing internet connection. As ISP's Internet service provider requires appropriate pricing schemes in order to maximize revenue and provide quality of service (Quality on Service) or QoS so as to satisfy internet users or users. The model used will be completed with the help of LINGO software program to get optimal solution and accurate result. Based on the optimal solution obtained from the modification of the cloud model can be utilized ISP to maximize revenue and provide services in accordance with needs and requests.

Abstract

The development of the internet in this era of globalization has increased fast. The need for internet becomes unlimited. Utility functions as one of measurements in internet usage, were usually associated with a level of satisfaction of users for the use of information services used. There are three internet pricing schemes used, that are flat fee, usage based and two-part tariff schemes by using one of the utility function which is Bandwidth Diminished with Increasing Bandwidth with monitoring cost and marginal cost. Internet pricing scheme will be solved by LINGO 13.0 in form of non-linear optimization problems to get optimal solution. The optimal solution is obtained using the either usage-based pricing scheme model or two-part tariff pricing scheme model for each services offered, if the comparison is with flat-fee pricing scheme. It is the best way for provider to offer network based on usage based scheme. The results show that by applying two part tariff scheme, the providers can maximize its revenue either for homogeneous or heterogeneous consumers.

Abstract

Previous research only focus on maximizing revenue for pricing strategies for information good with regardless the marginal and monitoring costs. This paper aims to focus on the addition of marginal and monitoring costs into the pricing strategies to maintain the maximal revenue while introduce the costs incurred in adopting the strategies. The well-known utility functions applied to also consider the consumer’s satisfaction towards the service offered. The results show that the addition costs incurred for setting up the strategies can also increase the profit for the providers rather than neglecting the costs. It is also showed that the Cobb-Douglas utility functions used can enhance the notion of provider to optimize the revenue compared to quasi linear and perfect substitutes.

Abstract

In this paper, the Robust Counterpart Open Capacitation Vehicle Rounting Problem (RC-OCVRP) Model has been established to optimize waste transport in districts Sako and districts Sukarami, Palembang City. This model is completed with the aid of LINGO 13.0 by using Branch and Bound solver to get the optimum route. For Sako districs, the routes are as follows: working area 1 is TPS 1-TPS 2-TPS 3-TPA with distance 53.39 km, working area 2 is TPS 1-TPS 2-TPS 3-TPA with distance 48.14 km, working area 3 is TPS 1-TPA with a distance of 22.98 km, and working area 4 is TPS 1-TPS 2-TPS 3-TPS 4-TPA with 45.45 km distance, and obtained the optimum route in Sukarami districts is as follows: working area 1 is TPS 1-TPS 2-TPA 44.39 km, working area 2 is TPS 1-TPS 2-TPS 3-TPA with distance 49.32 km, working area 3 is TPS 1-TPS 3-TPA-TPS 2-TPA with distance 58.57 km, and working area 4 is TPS 1-TPA with a distance of 24.07 km, working area 5 is TPS 1-TPS 3-TPA-TPS 2-TPS 4-TPA with a distance of 77.66 km, and working area 6 is a TPS 1-TPS 2-TPS 3-TPA with a distante 44.94 km.

Abstract

Demand robust counterpart-open capacitated vehicle routing problem with time windows and deadline (DRC-OCVRPtw,d) model formed and explained in this paper, is the model used to find the minimum distance and the time needed for vehicles to transport garbage in Sukarami Sub-District, Palembang that consists of the time it takes for the vehicle to pass through the route. Time needed to transport garbage to the vehicle is called time windows. Combination of the thoses times is called deadline. The farther the distance passed by vehicle and the more garbage transported, the longer the deadline is needed. This DRC-OCVRPtw,d model is completed by LINGO 13.0 to obtain the optimal route and time deadline for Sukarami Sub-District. The model shows that the improved model of open vehicle routing problem involving the robustness, time windows and deadline can achieve the optimal routes that enable driver to save operational time in picking up the garbage compared to similar problem not involving no-time windows and deadline stated in previous research.

Abstract

Pricing schemes were set up on multi service network of wireless internet pricing scheme to proposed models applying Bit Error Rate QoS attribute due to requirements for ISP to maximize revenue and provide high quality of service to end users. The model was deigned by improving the original model together with added parameters and variables to the model of multi- service network by setting the base price (α) and premium quality (β) as variables and parameters. LINGO 11.0 were applied to help finding the solution. The results show that the improved models yield maximum revenue for ISP by applying the improved model by setting up a variable α and β as constant as well as by increasing the cost of all the changes in QoS. The QoS attriute BER is proven to achieve the ISP’s goal to maximize the revenue.
