Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of information services on student learning motivation at MAN 3 Medan. The research background highlights the importance of guidance and counseling services that help students understand their strengths and weaknesses and accept themselves positively, which is the basis for self-development. The main focus of this research is information services in guidance and counseling, which aims to equip students with knowledge about education, work and personal social development. These services are designed to help students plan and organize their lives more effectively. Learning motivation, which is a driving force from within and outside students to achieve learning goals, is a key aspect in this research. This type of research is Quasi Experiment research with a quantitative type approach. The research results show that the information services provided by guidance and counseling teachers at MAN 3 Medan, in accordance with the service implementation plan, have a positive impact on increasing student learning motivation. Counseling teachers play an important role in supporting and increasing learning motivation through information services, which have proven effective in helping students achieve their academic goals. This research confirms that good information services can significantly increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

The characteristics of adolescents include a period of search for exploration so that adolescents act according to their wishes. However, sometimes adults perceive this as juvenile delinquency. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Group Guidance services using self-counseling techniques to reduce misconduct. Quantitative research type. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group research design. The total population of the study was 69 students in class XII MAN. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The data collection techniques were literature study, interviews, questionnaires, and observation. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis techniques using descriptive qualitative analysis, quantitative, and inferential statistics. The study's results proved a significant decrease in the pre and post-scores of the experimental group. In comparison, the results in the control group showed a significant decrease in pre and post-values. It was concluded that there was an insignificant decrease in inappropriate behavior if students were not given self-counseling techniques, while students who were given group guidance treatment with self-counseling techniques had a significant decrease.

Abstract

Women have an extensive role in fostering welfare in family and community life. Therefore, women need psychological well-being, characterized by a healthy, happy mental condition and the ability to face challenges or problems by utilizing all their potential. A person with psychological well-being is also characterized by self-acceptance, personal growth, positive relationships with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, and having a purpose in life—religiosity is a factor that influences psychological well-being. Religiosity requires a person to seek harmony, understanding, belief constantly, a strong belief in divine teachings, carry out religious practices or rituals well, and have moral and ethical values. This research aims to determine the extent of the influence of religiosity on the psychological well-being of Taklim assembly mothers. This research uses a quantitative approach. The research population is all assemblies in Medan City, which has 21 sub-districts. The sample uses a cluster area random sampling technique. Sampling is done using a random area sampling technique based on the selected region or sub-district. These findings indicate that religiosity influences the psychological well-being of Taklim assembly women in Medan City. This is obtained from the calculated coefficient value of 9.292 and a sig value <0.05. So, it can be said that religiosity directly influences psychological well-being empirically. So, it is believed empirically that religiosity positively and significantly influences psychological well-being, in other words, variation. The level of welfare (psychological well-being) at the Medan City Taklim Council is influenced by religiosity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the storytelling method can improve the concentration of children aged 5-6 years at Paud Istiqomah, Tanah Seribu, South Binjai. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in 2 cycles. Where each cycle is carried out 2 meetings. In each cycle, it is carried out through 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection tool used is observation. The subjects of the study were 12 children in Ismail class at Paud Istoqomah South Binjai, consisting of 6 girls and 6 boys. While the object of this study is Improving the Concentration of Children Aged 5-6 Years Through the Use of the Storytelling Method at Paud Istiqomah South Binjai The results of the analysis at meeting 1 cycle I after the storytelling method was carried out, the average assessment of children's concentration was 32.3% which means it is included in the sufficient category. While at meeting 2 cycle I after the storytelling method was carried out, the average concentration of children was 43.5%, still in the sufficient category. The results of observations and reflections at meeting 1 of cycle II after the storytelling method was carried out, the average assessment of children's concentration was 65.7%, which means it is included in the good category. While at meeting 2 of cycle II after the storytelling method was carried out, the average concentration of children increased to 80.5%, which is still included in the good category. From the results of the study above, it can be concluded that using the storytelling method can increase the concentration of children aged 5-6 years at Paud Istiqomah South Binjai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali peran Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling terhadap karir siswa di sekolah. Guru Bimbingan Konseling memiliki peran krusial dalam kematangan karir siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mengidentifikasi upaya Bimbingan Karir oleh Guru BK, 2) menilai efektivitas kinerja Guru BK dan program bimbingan konseling di sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Kualitatif dengan pendekatan Fenomenologis. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 5 Guru BK yang berasal dari sekolah di Kecamatan Babalan, yaitu SMA Negeri 1 Babalan, SMA Negeri 1 Sei Lepan, SMP Negeri 2 Babalan, dan MAS Al-WASLIYAH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Guru Bimbingan Konseling memainkan peran penting dalam program bimbingan konseling yang diterapkan dan efektif. Penerapan Teori Donald E. Super dalam bimbingan karir memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik kepada siswa tentang diri mereka, serta informasi yang relevan tentang pilihan karir. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya program bimbingan karir yang sistematis dan berkelanjutan di sekolah untuk mendukung kematangan karir remaja. Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital dan media sosial meningkatkan fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), yaitu kecemasan seseorang ketika merasa tertinggal dari aktivitas atau informasi sosial. Siswa SMA merupakan kelompok yang paling rentan mengalami FOMO karena interaksi digital yang intens, kebutuhan pengakuan sosial, dan tekanan perbandingan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling (BK) dalam mengatasi perilaku FOMO pada siswa SMAN 7 Medan serta menganalisis penerapan layanan konseling yang digunakan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru BK melakukan upaya preventif, kuratif, dan developmental melalui layanan orientasi, layanan informasi, konseling individu, konseling kelompok, konsultasi, dan mediasi. Guru BK juga menerapkan pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) dan Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) untuk membantu siswa mengelola pikiran irasional terkait FOMO. Hambatan yang dihadapi berupa intensitas penggunaan media sosial yang tinggi, pengaruh teman sebaya, dan rendahnya kontrol diri siswa. Secara keseluruhan, guru BK berperan penting sebagai fasilitator, konselor, mediator, dan pengarah dalam membantu siswa mengendalikan perilaku FOMO dan mengembangkan literasi digital yang sehat.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of group counseling services using the cognitive therapy technique on improving students’ self-efficacy at MTs Negeri Pematangsiantar. The research was motivated by initial findings that several students had low self-efficacy levels, which negatively impacted their learning motivation. This quantitative research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 16 eighth-grade students with low self-efficacy, divided into an experimental group (8 students) and a control group (8 students), selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a self-efficacy scale with a reliability coefficient of α = 0.975. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney test. The results revealed a significant difference between the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups (Asymp. Sig. = 0.005 < 0.05). The experimental group’s mean score increased from 39.375 (low category) to 53.5 (moderate category), while the control group only increased from 40.143 to 44.143 (remaining in the low category). These findings indicate that group counseling services using cognitive therapy are effective in enhancing students’ self-efficacy. The study recommends that school counselors apply this technique sustainably to help students develop positive thinking patterns, increase motivation, and strengthen confidence in facing academic and personal challenges.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of a psycho-spiritual approach in Islamic education at Pondok Pesantren Madani Ikhwanul Hasanah in Deli Serdang and the Modern Tahfidzul Qur’an Pesantren Raudhatul Mufassirin in South Labuhan Batu, North Sumatra. This study also seeks to examine the spiritual (rūḥānī) and psychic (nafsānī) potentials embedded within the educational practices of both institutions. Employing a qualitative methodology with a multisite design, this research utilizes case studies conducted at the two pesantren.. The findings reveal that: (1) the Qur’an conceptualizes spiritual and psychic potentials as foundational elements for shaping students’ character and behavior; (2) the psycho-spiritual educational principles identified across both pesantren include tawḥīd, tazkiyat al-nafs, self-awareness, mujāhadah, patience, gratitude, and iḥsān; (3) the implementation of psycho-spiritual education remains partial, with religious practices and study circles serving as the primary instructional mediums, thereby indicating the need for a more structured and integrated curriculum; and (4) the main challenges in applying psycho-spiritual education lie in educators’ limited practical understanding and the tendency to position spirituality as a supplementary activity rather than as the core foundation of the educational process. This study concludes that Qur’an-based psycho-spiritual education holds significant potential as a holistic educational model that harmonizes students’ cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions. The findings are expected to offer theoretical contributions to the development of Islamic educational frameworks and provide practical guidance for pesantren in designing integrative curricula that nurture students who are virtuous, faithful, and competitive.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a key psychological factor influencing students’ academic persistence and achievement, particularly within faith-based educational settings such as Madrasah Aliyah. This study examines the influence of assertiveness and self-efficacy on students’ learning motivation, with social support as a mediating variable. A quantitative path analysis was conducted using a sample of 275 students selected via proportional random sampling from three madrasahs in Dairi Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 4.1). The results show that assertiveness and self-efficacy significantly affect social support (β = 0.228; β = 0.260) and learning motivation (β = 0.180; β = 0.293). Social support also positively affects learning motivation (β = 0.259). Mediation analysis reveals that social support weakly mediates the effect of assertiveness on learning motivation yet significantly mediates the effect of self-efficacy on learning motivation. These findings highlight the importance of psychological empowerment in fostering student motivation.
