Abstract

Abstract

The pattern of people moving from villages to cities has become a pattern in various places, including in Paniai Regency. This pattern makes the village 'abandoned', while the city becomes congested. Therefore, the Paniai Regency Government issued a Return to Kampung policy so that the Paniai community returned and built a village. This policy has a derivative program for Coffee Farmers, all of which are funded by the Regency government. Therefore, this study looks at the implementation of these policies from the government's perspective. This study used qualitative research methods. The data was taken using the Literature Study Technique sourced from the news media that wrote about this activity, the Paniai district government website and social media channels. The result of this research is that the coffee planting program is able to make the Paniai community return to their village and empower the Paniai community

Abstract

In competitive sports, various factors influence the outcome of the game. It is believed that the mental toughness dimension is an aspect that contributes greatly to sports achievement in practice. However, unfortunately the condition of mental aspects of teenage athletes in Papua is limited explored. Therefore, the purpose of this community service was to provide assistance for the local government of Papua Province, especially the Sports and Youth Division, in providing information on the mental toughness conditions of adolescent athletes at PPLP/D Papua. The activity was carried out in three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and reporting. The results of the service found that the confidence dimension appeared to be greater than the other dimensions, while the commitment dimension was the dimension with the lowest value.  For other dimensions such as positive cognition, constancy, and control were relatively in the middle. In general, the pattern of mental toughness of Papuan youth athletes appears disproportionate. Thus, mental coaching or training should provide to improve the mental quality of athletes

Abstract

This research aims to determine the conflict and dual roles of Papuan women, the sources of conflict, as well as the conflict management models used by Papuan women in carrying out their roles. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods and a case study approach. This data source consists of primary data, namely data obtained from informants directly and secondary data, namely data obtained from recorded reference sources. Analysis of data obtained from the field is then presented descriptively including data reduction, data organization and interpretation. The research results show that the dual role conflict experienced by women who play multiple roles can cause obstacles in work, making it difficult to achieve success in the fields of work, family and interpersonal relationships with their husbands. Then, family support for working women is predominantly emotional (familiarity and acceptance) and informational (partner sharing) in the implementation of household affairs and child care, while instrumental support (providing assistance) is still less dominantly provided by the family so that women are the ones who work does not feel satisfaction at work and causes feelings of guilt towards his family. The model for managing family conflict among Papuan women who work in Jayapura City is used by elaborating three models, namely the coping model, strategies for combining work and family and strategies for managing dual work/family identities

Abstract

Online gender-based violence (OGBV) poses a serious risk to teenagers, especially those with low digital literacy. Although teenagers are the most active internet users, many remain unaware of the threats posed by the digital space. This community service program aimed to raise awareness and educate junior high school students on GBV in the online sphere. Conducted on May 30, 2024, at SMP Negeri 11 Kota Jayapura, the program targeted 41 students (27 female and 14 male) aged 13–16 years, representing grades VII–IX. The activity was carried out in three stages: a pretest to assess initial knowledge, a 90-minute awareness session using customized SAFEnet materials delivered in Papuan dialect, and a posttest to measure learning outcomes. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, and results were analyzed quantitatively by comparing pretest and posttest responses. The findings showed a significant increase in student knowledge across all key OGBV topics. For example, awareness of the term OGBV rose from 3.7% to 100% among female students and from 0% to 100% among male students. These results indicate that targeted digital literacy programs can be highly effective in improving students’ understanding of online safety and gender-based violence. The activity also fostered critical awareness that the internet, while useful, is not always a safe space. This initiative is expected to empower teenagers to use digital platforms more wisely and safely while promoting respectful online interactions.

Abstract

This community service initiative was motivated by the low capacity of residents to identify, plan, and implement solutions to their social environmental problems, particularly in the context of improving the quality of education and community empowerment. The objective of this activity was to strengthen the community's ability to conduct needs analysis, formulate action programs, and build sustainable collaboration between residents, schools, and local stakeholders. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involves a reflection-action-evaluation cycle through focus group discussions, participant observation, local asset mapping, and collaborative workshops. The results of the community service demonstrated a significant increase in community engagement, the emergence of local initiatives based on real needs, and the formation of a more focused and sustainable joint action plan. Furthermore, the strengthened community capacity was evident in their ability to identify problems, develop solution strategies, and conduct independent evaluations of their activities. In conclusion, the PAR approach was effective in promoting community empowerment and independence. The main contribution of this service lies in its replicable collaborative model, strengthening social networks, and improving the quality of participatory program planning.
