Abstract

Indonesia memiliki cadangan batubara peringkat rendah yang sangat melimpah. Batubara ini memiliki kadar air tinggi dan nilai kalor rendah sehingga akan menimbulkan banyak kerugian dalam pemanfaatannya sebagai sumber energi. Sehingga penggunaan batubara peringkat rendah sebagai bahan baku karbon aktif merupakan salah satu alternatif yang cukup menjanjikan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan karbon aktif berbahan dasar batubara yang memiliki daya adsorpsi tinggi terhadap logam berat dalam air limbah. Pembuatan karbon aktif dilakukan dengan dua tahap yaitu tahap aktivasi dan karbonisasi. Daya adsorpsi karbon aktif yang dihasilkan dianalisa dengan menggunakan air limbah yang berasal dari laboratorium kimia. Kadar ion logam Fe dan Zn sebelum dan setelah adsorpsi dianalisa dengan menggunakan SSA. Uji adsorpsi dilakukan dengan memvariasikan berat adsorben dan waktu kontak adsorpsi. Dua jenis karbon aktif dengan ukuran butir berbeda, yaitu 80 mesh dan 100 mesh dibuat kemudian dipilih karbon aktif dengan bilangan iodin tertinggi untuk digunakan pada uji adsorpsi. Karbon aktif 80 mesh menghasilkan yield sebesar 41% dan bilangan iodin tertinggi sebesar 1323 mg/g sehingga digunakan pada uji adsorpsi. Pada analisis pengaruh ukuran butir diperoleh bahwa berat karbon aktif 1200 mg menghasilkan serapan Fe dan Zn tertinggi yaitu sebesar 43% dan 81% berturut-turut. Sedangkan pada analisis pengaruh waktu kontak diperoleh waktu kontak optimal untuk adsorpsi Fe adalah 48 jam dengan nilai serapan 59% dan waktu kontak 24 jam untuk adsorpsi Zn dengan nilai serapan 41%. Karbon aktif yang dihasilkan pada studi ini memiliki kemampuan adsorpsi yang cukup tinggi sehingga efektif digunakan sebagai adsorben logam berat dalam air limbah.

Abstract

Packaging is the first thing seen in a product and today many companies are focused on developing product packaging designs to compete in the market. The improvements in the type and design of packaging can be done PRIMKOPTI SWAKERTA Semanan to maintain customer loyalty. The purpose of this dedication is to provide knowledge of more environmentally friendly packaging alternatives to support the sustainable development of the tempeh industry and its processing in Semanan. Devotional activities begin with an introductory survey and then continue with training conducted online with the devotional team and tempeh craftsmen. The delivery of several training materials was done in parallel related to quality improvement, some of these materials such as the application of Good Manufacturing Practice, maintenance of production machines and food packaging. The survey results showed that 66.7 % of craftsmen use clear plastic with a simple design and some do not even use labels. The remaining 33.3 % of tempeh craftsmen use a combination of aluminium foil and plastic packaging. Alternative solutions are provided in improving the quality of tempeh products through banana leaf packaging. Banana leaves help the process of fermentation on tempeh and also increase consumer interest in buying because it is preferred. Kraft paper packaging is recommended for use because it can reduce the risk of rancidity on tempeh chips and extend the shelf life. Semanan tempeh makers can use this food packaging alternative to attract back consumers' interest that decreased during the pandemic.

Abstract

XYZ is a company engaged in fabrication. Quality is very important for the company because it can affect customer satisfaction. In the production process there are still defect problems found on the top side of the structural construction and it affects the quality of the part. The failure rate on the topside product has a 5:28% percentage exceeds the standards set by the company which is 2%. Based on the percentage of defects that have been obtained, the problem can be solved by fishbone analysis and FMEA. In the first stage using CTQ which aims to identify failures that occur and determine quality characteristics. The next step after identifying the failure that occurred can be calculated DPMO and Sigma Level. After getting the DPMO value and the Sigma level, identification of the root causes of the failure occurred. Abstract

The Indonesian population likes and demands processed soy products like tofu and tempeh. The daily mass production of tofu may have a detrimental effect on the environment. Using the Life Cycle Assessment approach, this study examines the environmental impact of the tofu production process in West Jakarta from cradle - to - grave. The 35 kg of tofu produced in each production batch served as the study's functional unit. The process of cultivating and transporting soybeans to the factory was included in the environmental impact analysis process. Tofu production data which includes washing, soaking, milling, cooking, screening, clumping and printing tofu were obtained from observational data, interviewing, and inventory data. and inventory data of the tofu production process. The equipment used such as plastic, stainless steel and wood tools are taken into account in the environmental impact analysis by taking into account the service life. The environmental impacts analyzed include the potential for global warming (GWP), acidification, the potential for depletion of the ozone layer (ODP), and eutrophication. Using Simapro software, environmental impact analysis was performed using the CML-IA methodology. The analysis's findings indicate that the following environmental effect values were produced: GWP of 34.2 kg CO2 eq, acidification of 0.0551 kg SO2 eq, ODP of 5.44E-7 kg CFC-11 eq, and eutrophication of 0 kg PO4 eq. The process of cultivation and transportation of soybeans to the factory was the biggest contributor to the potential for global warming in tofu production.

Abstract

Pondok kelapa merupakan salah satu kelurahan yang ada di Duren Sawit, Jakarta Timur yang sebagian besar warganya memiliki usaha di berbagai bidang seperti; usaha di bidang otomotif, makanan, dan fashion. Akibat banyaknya jumlah warga yang memiliki UMKM menyebabkan roda perekonomian di wilayah ini cukup berkembang. Akan tetapi semenjak pandemi menyebabkan pendapatan warga yang memiliki usaha mengalami penurunan, sehingga perlu dilakukan pendampingan kepada warga untuk membangkitkan usahanya, salah satunya dengan membuat display promosi dan kemasan yang menarik dan ergonomis, mengingat selama pandemi hampir seluruh usaha dilakukan dengan berbasis online. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan pelatihan serta pendampingan kepada warga Pondok Kelapa yang memiliki UMKM untuk mendesain display promosi dan kemasan yang menarik dan ergonomis. Sehingga diharapkan kegiatan promosi dan penjualan mengalami pendekatan dengan penggunaan display dan bergakibat pada penghasilan warga Pondok Kelapa. Pelatihan diberikan secara luring di Kelurahan Pondok Kelapa Jakarta Timur. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini dilihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan warga mengenai desain display promosi dan kemasan yang ergonomis. Hal ini diketahui dari respon peserta pada kuesioner yang diberikan yang menunjukkan hasil bahwa 100% peserta setuju bahwa materi yang diberikan bermanfaat dan berdampak pada peningkatan pengetahuan peserta

Abstract

The laundry industry is one of the industries that is growing rapidly at this time. The development of this industry cannot be separated from the growing need for human clothing. While carrying out their work, laundry workers have a risk of exposure to laundry chemicals. However, most laundry workers do not understand these risks and how to prevent and handle them. This service activity aims to provide counseling to laundry workers regarding the risks of laundry chemicals and the application of occupational safety and health in the laundry industry. Counseling was carried out directly to one of the laundry industries in Tangerang City, involving 14 laundry workers. The material provided includes various types of laundry chemicals, potential hazards, how to prevent them and the need for OSH applications such as the use of PPE in work. The results of the activity evaluation show that this counseling activity has an impact on increasing the knowledge of laundry workers regarding the risks of laundry chemicals and how to prevent and handle them. Evaluation of the usefulness of the activity and the activity presenter gave the result that the presenter conveyed the material clearly so that all laundry workers agreed that this extension activity was very useful.

Abstract

E-commerce has been proven to be able to increase product sales. PT TIJ utilized e-commerce well and increased women's bag product sales. During 2023, PT TIJ will be able to triple bag production and online sales through several e-commerce sites. Various problems are also encountered as production capacity increases, especially regarding returned customer products. Customers receive products with product defects in bags purchased via e-commerce. This defect can occur due to the shipping or production processes. Customer review data contains many product defect data that PT TIJ has not analyzed. This data is widely accessible to competitors. This community service assists in identifying product defects through customer review data in e-commerce. Apart from that, how should communication between departments be carried out? The mentoring participants comprised 14 employees and represented each of the Production, Quality Control, and Marketing departments. The findings of PT TIJ's customer review analysis can identify product defects in ratings 1-3 with the most reviews. Apart from that, Shopee e-commerce is the main priority for defect identification data because it has the highest number of product assessments compared to other platforms. After the mentoring was carried out, there was an increase in participants' understanding of product quality management. However, in the future, the program needs to be carried out more intensively and adapted to the participant's job description.
