Abstract

This research describes about syria interests in Lebanon in conducting diplomatic relations. In the beginning, Syria did not agree with the establishment of the Lebanese State because it leads to reduced part of Syrian territory. Syria initially determined not to open formal diplomatic relations with Lebanon. In 2008 Syria began to open the way for diplomatic relations. The attitude of Syria in opening diplomatic relations with Lebanon certainly has its own importance.This research uses a realist perspective. Where the realist focused that the State is a major actor in international politics. Syria opened relations with Lebanon to achieve the interests of his country. In this paper, the author uses the analysis of the level of the nation state that focuses on the discussion of the diplomatic relations forged by Syria in Lebanon. The author uses the method of library research to collect data, the data collection methods of books, journals, articles, internet and other supporting media.The results of this research indicate that Syria has a national interest in Lebanon. Therefore, syria opened diplomatic relations with Lebanon which will provide benefits in syria, namely in the field of military security, and regional integration.Keywords :diplomatic relations, national interest, regional integration

Abstract

This research aims to explain diplomatic efforts of oil and gas company named Total Exploration and Production Indonesie in East Kalimantan. It originates from France and one of non-governmental company which has many wells in Indonesia. One of them is Mahakam Block, the country’s biggest gas block in terms of production which is located in Kutai, East Kalimantan.Sources were obtained from journals, books, internet, etc. In this research, the writer uses method of qualitative research. In addition, it uses analysis level of multinational corporation and pluralism perspective. The writer also uses multi-track diplomacy as theory of this research in order to know the kind of diplomacy track applied by Total Exploration and Production Indonesie.The problem in this research is about diplomatic efforts of Total Exploration and production Indonesie to get a contract extension of Mahakam Block which will be expired in 2017. Meanwhile, PT. Pertamina as Indonesia’s oil and gas company wants to take over the operation of Mahakam Block. Considering this situation , Total Exploration and Production must continue to look for ways and opportunities to negotiate with the Indonesian government to get a contract extension of Mahakam Block which has been managed by Total Exploration and production Indonesie almost for 50 years.Keywords : contract extension, East Kalimantan, Mahakam Block, PT.Pertamina,Total Exploration and Production Indonesie.

Abstract

This research explains Indonesian’s motive established aerospace cooperation with China. Indonesia and China signed a cooperation agreement on Exploration and Utilization of Space for Peaceful Purposes on 2 October 2013. The areas of this cooperation include the field of launching space satellites, earth observation, satellite communications, satellite navigation, telemitri, tracking and control, rocket probe, facility space, material satellites, space science, training or education, and aeronautics technology.This research used qualitative methods which is done by explaining the case based on existing facts. The techniques used to collects data to study the case is library research in the form of journals, books, thesis, reports, working papers, magazine, and website to explain Indonesian’s motive established space cooperation with China. The theoretical framework applied in this research are realism perspective, security theory of Barry Buzan and national interests concept from Hans J. Morgenthau.This study shows that Indonesia is the motivation for the national interests and seeks to improve the capacity of leading space faring nation. Abstract

This research aims to find out the efforts of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) against drug problems in Indonesia. UNODC is one of organizations under the UN Security Council which responsible for fighting various forms of drug trafficking and international crime. UNODC declared drug problems as serious problems for the international community. The effects of drugs can contribute to poor health and death. Not only that, the drug problem also involves the wearer as a drug courier who makes circulation more widespread. These results indicate that the efforts of the UNODC against drug problems in Indonesia by implementing UNODC programs. Some efforts are made the UNODC through alternative development programs to replace the marijuana plants, the global launch of the SMART program as a source of information exchange for Indonesia, implement the program country Indonesia and support pilot rehabilitation projects in Indonesia.Keyword : United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), drugs problem, Alternative Development, Global SMART Programme, Country Programme Indonesia, Pilot Project.

Abstract

This research is about the implementation of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endagered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna) against the Indonesian government policy. In particular, this research is aiming to look at the extent of influence CITES againts Indonesian policy related to the extinction ramin conducted by Asia Pulp & Paper (APP)This research is using the perspective of liberalism. The level of analysis that is being used is the level of analysis of the Nation-State. CITES does have a major influence in Indonesia’s decision making; however, Indonesia is still the major actor in the domestic and international affairs. The theory used is the theory of international cooperation.Ramin legally protected under Indonesian law and CITES regulations that have been adopted by the Indonesian government. Since Indonesia banned ramin logging and trade in 2001, more than a quarter of ramin habitat has been clearcut by APP. In 2001, Indonesia put ramin population on Appendix III of CITES, and give a mandate to the importing countries to stop the import of ramin illegally exported. In 2004, given the continual loss of habitat and illegal logging ramin, Ministry of Forestry asked countries to CITES to include all species of ramin to list higher Appendix II, which requires more stringent control of trade, in an effort to achieve improved enforcement of the ban on exports through international monitoring of potential violations of trade under CITES.Keywords: Ramin, CITES, Environment, Implementation.

Abstract

This research will explain about involvement from an international organization named World Wildlife Fund For Nature (WWF) in Sumatera tiger conservation at Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling, Kuantan Sangingi Riau province. Less of concervation understanding, less of economic, boundary problem, Illegal logging, woods areal conversion into plantations and farms, mine workings, illegal persecution of Sumatera Tiger and less of law have been threatening the Sumatera Tiger population and declining the number of rare every year. As an international organization of conservation based in Swiss who works in environmental issues, biological diversity, and climate change, WWF works together with Riau government to carry out conservation programs such as TPU (Tiger Protection Unit), Tiger Research, Empowerment Comunity, Multilevel Campaign and Regulation Increase at Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Concervation.Sources were obtained through literature review from journals, books, mini thesis, reports, and internet to explain WWF’s planned programs. Writer also did some interviews and observations by observing and taking notes of the indications systematically and directly. The theories used in this research are pluralism and green politic theory.This research indicates the reasons involvement of WWF on Sumatera tiger concervation are needed of goverment’s partner on concervation field and urgency of Sumatera tiger on Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling. Abstract

This research describes foreign policy North Korea under the leadership of kim jong un in nuclear proliferation of against South Korea in 2013-2015. To described diplomatic relations between South Korea with North Korea. To know the explanation of the escalation conflict North Korea with South Korea under leadership Kim Jong Un. The theories applied is Behaviorism, philosophy in psychology based on a proposition that all done organisms including the act of the mind, or feeling can and has to be considered as behavior. In this analogy individual it is through intellectual a series of stages, by applying of reasoning that earnestly seek to assign choice of the policy. The conclusion of this research are the policy South Korea in the safety and weaponry certainly had the purpose of protect and to secure the defense and the security of his country from the threat of North Korean nuclear attack. This policy is one of embodiment of thought security dilemma who which an attempt South Korea in increase ordnance and security was evidence fear South Korea related to the progress of North Korean nuclear. Abstract

New Zealand is a small country, the same size with the Britania Raya or Japan, with a population of only four million people, this country including desolation. New Zealand diplomatic relations - Indonesia has been established since 1958. As the two democratic countries, Indonesia and New Zealand have the basis of the relationship established. This research aims to explain the ASEAN - Australia - New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA), explains the existence of economic and political interests of New Zealand against Indonesia and explained the New Zealand free trade cooperation with Indonesia in the framework of the AANZFTA Year 2012-2015.This research uses qualitative research methodology that is eksplanatif i.e. a research that tries to explain from some formulation of problems that the writer take. This research limits on : 1) the interests of the New Zealand free trade cooperation with Indonesia in the framework of the AANZFTA, 2) This Research focused on the year 2012-2015, where actually in that year Indonesia and New Zealand in the period of the implementation of the cooperation agreement AANZFTA.Based on the results of the research that has been carried out against this research, so it can be taken some conclusions, namely International Trade tax revenue from 2012-2014 export tax declined significantly, New Zealand is the main producer of products made from milk (dairy products) and flesh, timber and wood products, fish and other cereal products, machinery and agricultural products such as fruit and grain. Economic cooperation in form of foreign investment is one of the cooperation.This research is aim to explain about economic cooperation between Garudafood and Suntory Bevarage and Food in snacks and drinks industry in Indonesia.This research is using qualitative methods and has theoretically built by using International Cooperation Theory as the main theory and Foreign Direct Investment Theory as the second theory. Abstract

This research focuses on the motivation of Iran to reopen the Office of the Embassy in the UK in 2015. The closure of the Iranian embassy and the British started from the attack protesters against the Office of the British Embassy in Iran. Britain has imposed a number of sanctions and embargo against Iran over its nuclear development. Iranian diplomacy in obtaining freedom nuclear development achieved during the reign of President Hassan Rouhani through the Joint Action of Geneva of Interim Agreement on Iran's Nuclear Program which was attended by Britain, France, China, USA, Russia and Germany (P5+1). The results of this agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). This research used of journals, books, and websites. The theory used in this research is National Interest in Realism perspective. Level of analysis is National State. This research explain that Iran's efforts to reopen the Office of the Embassy in the UK is to obtain the removal of sanctions of Iran and to restore the confidence of the international community related to Iran's nuclear program.
