Abstract

ABSTRACTCoconut plantation areas in Indonesia, specifically in North Sulawesi by the owners are tendto use monocultural pattern with only one product, copra. Efficiency in using growing spaceand certain planting pattern in form of agroforestry and its combination will give reciprocalbenefits, i.e. the cleanness of coconut planting area could be maintained with a possibility ofincreasing in coconut product, and economical benefits by utilizing of the unused growingspace on the lower space of coconut plantation area. If the economical benefits could bequantified, application of agroforestry pattern could be practiced to a wider area. Applicationof agroforestry pattern between coconut trees (Cocos nucifera) and taro (Colocasia esculentaL) by farmers who work on coconut plantation area is one of the agroforestry pattern that hasbeen used in Klabat Village, North Minahasa Regency. Lacking in knowledge of economicalvalue of the agroforestry pattern applied is a motivation why this reseach was done. Theaimed of this research was to analyze farming revenue based on agroforestry patternapplication between coconut and taro at Klabat Village, North Minahasa Regency.Questionnaire and interview were employed to collect required data and information using 30purposive respondents. This concluded that planting of both crops in combination resulted inhigher revenues than that of monocultural planting.Key words: agroforestry, Klabat village, farming revenue

ABSTRACTWoman Participation in the Implementation of Agroforestry in the Village of Warembungan, sub-District of PinelengIt is well known that woman has certain participation level varied from household activities to a broader sense such as participation in household income generating. With the exception to woman monthly income that valued in rupiahs, it is very rarely that contribution value of woman participation is quantified. This is happened to all woman community at city and village level as well. At village level, where farming effort ast as prime mover of household economy, it is estimated that the smaller the number of family member, the higher the participation level of woman contribution in farming activities. Warembungan Village, Subdistrict Pineleng is a sample of village where the farming effort in form of agroforestry applied to fulfill the family needs. It is therefore, woman participation level in order to establish its contribution value needs to be quantified. This study aimed to describe the level of woman participation in agroforestry activities, and to further analyze the relation between woman participation and socio-economy factors. Research was conducted in Warembungan Village, subdistrict Pineleng using structured questioner survey analyzed descriptively and then using Chi-square (x2) to see the relation mentioned above. Results showed that the level of participation of women classified as medium category with a percentage of 80%, The female participation rates no significant correlation with socio-economic factors,Keywords: woman participation, Warembungan, socio-economy factors

Abstract

ABSTRACT Gyrinops caudata an agarwood-producing plants are of good quality, so the price on the market also increased tailored to the needs of the present. To meet the demand of the market it is necessary to improve the welfare of farmers cultivation of agarwood and reduce the level of damage to forests from natural forests aloes search uncontrollably. Cultivation of this crop requires the application of techniques and methods that aim to spur growth in order to produce quality results and growth in accordance with the growing age. This study aims to investigate the response of fertilizer given to plants producing agarwood by using the experimental method, the observed data were analyzed using the F-test (variance) to determine the spread of the data and proceed to the t-test to determine the level of difference in the increase in diameter of the two group of plants. Through the analysis of test-f and proceed to the t-test concluded that the treatment that is given in plant with a combination of fertilizer, NPK and added foliar fertilizer (bayfolan) accreting diameter better than combination fertilizers that do not add foliar fertilizer Bayfolan.Key words : Agarwood, Gyrinops caudata, Fertilizers, Bayfolan, Experiment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Plant growth and development depends on internal factors (genetic) and external factors (environment). Solar radiation (external factor) is an energy source needed in plant growth. In agroforestry systems the existence of woody species (trees) will reduce the level of light received by agricultural crops (annual crops). The purpose of this study was to determine the fraction of solar radiation in the Cempaka agroforestry system. The research was conducted in three locations, namely Lemoh Barat Village (295 masl), Rumoong Atas Village (489 masl) and Kinilow Satu Village (652 masl). Direct measurement of radiation using a solarimeter device placed in 3 observation points at each location, while the measurement of radiation fraction estimation was taken data of tree canopy width, tree height, tree spacing width and land area. The results of direct measurements of radiation obtained at the Lemoh Barat Village agroforestry area were 62%. Rumoong Atas Village were 51% and Kinilow Satu Village were 53%. The estimation results obtained by Lemoh Barat Village were 74%, Rumoong Atas Village were 62% and Kinilow Satu Village were 26%. Key words: Radiation Fraction, Agroforestry, Cempaka
