Abstract

This research aims to observe how the emotion coaching training improve the skill of teachers on Education for Early-Age Children (known as PAUD). It uses the design of nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design. Twelve teachers of PAUD were involved as the participants in this research and they were divided into two groups: 6 of those 12 teachers included in experimental and control group. The measurement tools used in this research were the scale of the skill of teacher response and observation on checklist behavior made by the researcher based upon the theory of Swartz and Mcelwain (2012).. The test of hypothesis used the Friedman analysis. The results of the research showed that the training of emotion coaching can improve the skill of teachers in responding the emotion of early age children before and after giving the training to the experiment group at (p = 0.002 where p< 0.05).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to test the validation and analysis of the Teacher's Sense of Efficacy Scale (short form) measurement tool for teachers of children with special needs in Indonesia . In this study, researchers tested three dimensions developed by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001) for measuring teaching efficacy , namely Efficacy in Classroom Management, Efficacy in Student Engagement, and Efficacy in Instructional Strategies with a total of 12 items. The research subjects were 301 teachers of children with special needs . The data analysis method used in this research is confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with the help of JASP software 0.1 8. 3. Based on the analysis results obtained a GFI value of 0.9 97; CFI 0.930; TLI 0.907; RNI 0.930; SRMR 0.044; and RMSEA 0.082. This means Teacher's Sense of Efficacy Scale has an appropriate model or goodness of fit and is suitable for use in research models

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the training called “Me and My Target” on the motivation of learning Mathematics in 36 second grade students of "X" Middle School. The data was collected through Mathematics Learning Motivation Scale, interviews, and observations. This study used a pretest-posttest control group design (18 students as the experimental group and 18 students as the control group). This research was based on quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis was carried out using the Mann-Whitney test in order to determine student motivation in terms of learning Mathematics after had the training “Me and My Target”. Qualitative analysis is obtained through observation, interviews, and worksheets. The results of this study showed that there is a significant differences in student motivation to learn Mathematics between the experimental group and control group (Z = -3,216, p <0.05). Furthermore, there were also significant differences in the student motivation between the experimental group and control group within two weeks after training (Z = -3,876, p <0.05). In conclusion, the training called “Me and My Target” may increase the student motivation to learn Mathematics of second grade students of SMP "X".

Abstract

Grit is the ability of individuals to exhibit commitment, persistence in effort, as well as passion to attain long-term objectives. The research on grit in Indonesia has remained limited to students, and the investigation among teachers was popularized by Baraquia (2020). This aligns with the emergence of performance appraisal systems for teachers in the Philippines to support the continuous development of the teaching profession. Therefore, this research aimed to measure the validation of the Teacher's Grit Scale (TGS) in the Indonesian version. The adaptation process was carried out following the guidelines from the International Test Commission (ITC) using the Confirmating Factor Analysis (CFA) method. CFA is the most reliable analytical method so far in testing the construct validity of a measurement tool in the fields of psychology, education, and social sciences. Data were collected from 301 teachers of children with special needs (CSN) selected by accidental sampling based on CFA test analysis using JASP. The results showed that the model fulfilled the criteria for fit, namely RMSEA .076, CFI .929, TLI .913, RNI .929, GFI .995, and SRMR .049. Therefore, TGS-Indonesia was valid and reliable for measuring grit in CSN teachers, and the discussion and implications were presented in the subsequent research.

This research aims to test the validity and analysis of the Teacher's Sense of Efficacy Scale (short form) measurement tool for teachers of children with special needs in Indonesia. In this study, researchers tested three dimensions developed by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001) for measuring teaching efficacy: Efficacy in Classroom Management, Efficacy in Student Engagement, and Efficacy in Instructional Strategies, with 12 items. The research subjects were 301 teachers of children with special needs. Among the subjects are 225 female and 76 male teachers, with a median age of 26-35. The sampling method utilised in this study is purposive sampling. The data analysis method used in this research is confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The analysis results show a GFI value of 0.9 97; CFI 0.930; TLI 0.907; RNI 0.930; SRMR 0.044; and RMSEA 0.082. Further, Rasch analysis found that all 12 items of the scale were valid and used in the study. This model allows stakeholders to gain more insights into teachers’ self-efficacy, especially regarding children with special needs.

Abstract

Various challenges faced by students from other regions can reduce their level of well-being. In this study, we considered stress as a risk factor and social support as a protective factor for subjective well-being. The relationship between social support and stress on the subjective well-being of students living away from home can be facilitated by other variables, one of which is grit. This study examined how grit acts as a mediator in the relationship between social support and stress, influencing the subjective well-being of students living away from home. This study employed a non-random, purposive sampling technique, which enabled the successful analysis of 262 data points. The analysis included tests of normality and multicollinearity assumptions, as well as mediation hypothesis testing with 5,000 bootstrapping resamples. Results showed that subjective well-being is positively correlated with social support and grit, and negatively correlated with stress. Furthermore, grit can mediate the influence of social support and stress on subjective well-being. These results have important implications for students' stress management and interpersonal relationship maintenance. Institutions can support student well-being by creating collaborative learning environments. Recommendations for further research are offered, including increasing sample size, involving more diverse demographics, and incorporating other psychological variables to clarify and increase the complexity of this model. In addition, Islamic-based research can integrate models with Islamic psychological variables, such as istiqamah and sa'adah.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between the variables of hardiness and parenting self-efficacy in parents with special needs children’s. The hypothesis in this study was there is a positive relationship between hardiness and parenting self-efficacy, the higher the hardiness variable, the higher the parenting self-efficacy variable too. The subjects in the study were 84 parents of children with special needs. Data collection uses two scales, namely the hardiness scale based on Maddi and Kobasa's hardiness construct (α = 0.725, N = 14) and the parenting self-efficacy scale based on the Coleman and Karraker construct (α = 0.896, N = 30). The result of this study is significantly positive relationship between hardiness and parenting self-efficacy, with correlation test using Pearson's product moment show the result is p = 0.000, r = 0.819.

Abstract

Authentic Happiness is a dream for every human being. However, there are still those who have not felt Authentic Happiness due to father absence caused by parental divorce. This is because children put their happiness point on the family. The occurrence of divorce has a negative impact on the emotional side. It was found that women feel emotions more intensely than men. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to empirically determine the relationship of Mindfulness to Authentic Happiness in early adult women who experience father absence due to parental divorce. This study involved 142 respondents as research subjects. The research design used in this study is to use a quantitative approach with a correlational method. This study uses Pearson's Product Moment correlation analysis technique which results in a positive relationship between Mindfulness and Authentic Happiness in early adult women who experience father absence due to parental divorce. The implication of this research is that striving for happiness in negative conditions can be done by increasing mindfulness.
