Abstract

The purpose of this Community Partnership Program was to describe the effectiveness of the implementation of blended learning at SMAN Singaraja, Buleleng, Bali. For that, five subjects were used as pilots for the implementation of blended learning projects. They were Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and Religion. The selection of them as pilot projects was based on the readiness of subject matter partners to carry out blended learning and partners competencies in mastering information technology. Before implementing the blended learning, the partners created online contents of the subjects. During the creation of these online contents, the partners were guided by Community Partnership Program implementers. The platform used to create online content was google classroom. The implementation of blended learning used the flipped classroom model. In this model, students learnt the contents first at home uploaded online by partners. The contents uploaded online in the forms of learning materials, textbooks, learning videos, students worksheets, and assignments related to the topic being studied. The results of implementation of the blended learning were as follows. The average score of partners' skills in implementing the blended learning were 2.72 and 4.38, respectively, with a normalized gain score of 0.73 (relatively high). Students learning outcomes had reached the classical learning completeness of 87.50% (exceeding the classical completeness criteria of 85%). Students responded to the implementation of blended learning very well (the average score of 4.35).

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are still relatively low, this is due to the lack of utilization of local wisdom-based electronic textbooks in class by teachers. The application of Balinese local culture-based electronic textbooks is believed to be able to improve learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to describe and explain whether or not there were differences in learning outcomes between students who took the pretest and students who did not take the pretest and to describe and explain whether or not there were differences in learning outcomes between students who studied using chemistry textbooks based on local Balinese culture and students who studied using conventional books. The design of this study uses the Solomon four-group design. The research location was carried out at SMAN 5 Denpasar with a research sample of class XI MIPA. The instrument in this study consisted of a learning achievement test using a dichotomous scale. The research data were analyzed using a two-way analysis of variance test. The research results obtained were that there were no differences in learning outcomes between students who were given a pretest and students who were not given a pretest and there were differences in learning outcomes between students who studied using electronic chemistry textbooks based on local Balinese culture and students who studied using conventional textbooks

Abstract

The COVID-19 outbreak had transformed the chemistry learning from physical class to online class. The alteration in class method could be challenging for several instructors, particularly those who were not aided with technological advancements and adequate training. One of the challenges was the selection of software and tools used in online lectures as well as online experiments class. Herein, we present a systematic literature review with the PRISMA model from two databases regarding the software and tools many researchers used in chemistry learning during COVID-19 pandemic. The particular steps of laboratory activities and students’ perspectives towards these learning tools were also incorporated in the results and discussion. At the end of the review, we provide the promising directions of learning tools for future chemistry learning too

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskrispikan dan menjelaskan perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kreatif antara kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan strategi berdiferensiasi, model pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan model pembelajaran konvensional pada mata pelajaran IPA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest – posttest non-equivalent control group design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 280 orang yang merupakan siswa kelas VIII yang terbagi ke dalam 7 kelas dan sampel penelitian yang digunakan berjumlah 240 orang yang terbagi dalam 6 kelas. Instrumen penelitian yang dipakai berbentuk angket gaya belajar, dan tes berpikir kreatif. Data yang diperoleh adalah jenis gaya belajar, dan nilai berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi usaha dan pesawat sederhana serta penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan ANCOVA. Tindak lanjut ANCOVA, dipergunakan Least Significant Diffeerence (LSD) untuk mengetahui perlakuan mana yang memberikan hasil yang berbeda. Pengujian hipotesis dikerjakan dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Sebelum uji hipotesis, terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji prasyarat (normalitas, homogenitas, linearitas, kemiringan garis regresi, dan multikolinieritas). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan strategi berdiferensiasi lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan model pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dengan efek pengaruh sebesar 77,3%.

Abstract

Learning by using the verification experimental methods could improve students' cognitive abilities and science process skills. However, there are inconsistent results when applying this method of science process skills and learning achievement. This study was conducted to describe and explain: the simultaneous differences in science process skills and learning achievement between students taught by verification experimental and conventional methods; the differences in student science process skills taught by verification experimental and conventional methods; and the differences in the students’ learning achievement taught by the verification experimental and conventional learning methods. This study was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest design. The data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis techniques and multivariate analysis (MANCOVA). The results of the study showed there are simultaneous differences in science process skills and students' learning achievement with an r square price of 0.743, or 74.3%; there are differences in the science process skills of students who studied using the verification experimental methods; and there are differences in students’ learning achievement; the experimental class was is higher than the control class. The other inconsistent results of the study on this method were caused by the different characteristics and cognitive levels of students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss novel approaches to teaching chemistry that enhance students' creative thinking skills (CTSs), as well as the kinds of research that are conducted and the tools that are used to measure CTSs. . This research use the PRISMA paradigm in conjunction with a systematic literature review approach. This method was employed by searching for Google Scholar. The analysis results of eight relevant journals and proceeding articles show five articles discussing the implementation of chemistry learning strategies to improve students’ CTSs, with the distribution as follows: problem-based learning-scaffolding, STEAM-PjBL, case-based Learning, STMCpE textbooks based on chemo-entrepreneurship, and students’ worksheet with the mind mapping strategy which amounts to 20.00% each. The types of research used were experimental methods (37.50%), research and developmental methods (12.50%), survey research (12.50%), ex post facto research (12.50%), and qualitative research (descriptive approach) (25.00%). Instruments for measuring CTSs are in the form of a CTS test with indicators developed by Torrance (75.00%), non-test (interview and observation) (12.50%), and unclear instrument (12.50%).

Abstract

This research aims to explore the need to design a challenge-based learning model (CBLM) integrated with differentiated learning strategies (DLS). The result of this integration is called a differentiated challenge-based learning model (DCBLM). A descriptive research design (survey) was applied in this study. A total of 46 high school teachers who taught science classes (biology, chemistry, and physics) throughout Bali participated in this study. The research results showed that high school teachers have attempted to implement various innovative learning models. Five innovative learning models and their implementation problems were also found and discussed in this study. Teachers fervently hope that DCBLM will exist to enhance and maximize CBLM's assets. Regarding 21st-century learning, DCBLM is highly pertinent, and the Merdeka Curriculum is implemented in Indonesia to shape students’ character according to the Pancasila students’ profile

Abstract

The low level of students' critical thinking skills in learning chemistry is still a challenge at the high school level. This condition is caused by the lack of application of learning models that can encourage students to think analytically and reflectively. This study aims to analyze the results of the analysis of students' critical thinking skills through the application of discovery learning models in chemistry subjects in class XI SMA. This research used qualitative research method with descriptive analysis approach. The research subjects included chemistry teachers and students. Data collection was done through observation, interview, and document analysis. Data analysis techniques used triangulation, member check, audit trail, and credibility checking to ensure the validity of the findings. The results showed differences in the level of students' critical thinking skills during the learning process with the discovery model. Some critical thinking indicators, such as the ability to analyze information and provide logical arguments, have not been applied optimally by students. Differences in classroom interactions also affected students' learning outcomes. Teacher 1 applies multi-directional interactions that encourage active discussions, while Teacher 2 tends to use unidirectional interactions that limit students' participation. Teachers' teaching skills play an important role in facilitating the development of students' critical thinking skills. The conclusion of this study shows that the discovery learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills if supported by effective interactions and adequate teacher teaching skills.

Abstract

Pembelajaran daring dilaksanakan sebagai langkah tepat untuk dapat mencegah dan menekan penularan virus covid-19, sehingga peserta didik tidak akan ketinggalan pelajaran sebagaimana yang telah direncanakan dalam kurikulum selama satu tahun ajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis pembelajaran daring pada masa pandemi covid-19 oleh guru-guru IPA di sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru-guru ipa dan guru mata pelajaran lainnya. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yang dialami guru dalam penerapan kebijakan pemerintah tentang pembelajaran daring,  perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yaitu meliputi penerapan pembelajaran daring yang dari kebijakan pemerintah menjadi tantangan bagi guru dalam proses pembelajaran dan dirasa kurang maksimal, platform-platform pendukung pembelajaran daring yang asing bagi guru-guru karena minimnya pengetahuan tentang teknologi, persiapan yang ekstra agar siswa tidak merasa bosan dan jenuh saat pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring, kouta, jaringan serta alat pendukung yang kurang, (evaluasi yang dirasa kurang karena tidak bertatapan langsung membuat guru kesulitan dalam melakukan evaluasi. Adapun kendala-kendala yang dialami dapat menjadi tantangan bagi guru agar lebih meningkatkan lagi pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring serta pembelajaran yang kurang efektif perlu diperbaiki untuk pembelajaran selanjutnya.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan P2M ini adalah menghasilkan produk berupa artikel ilmiah yang siap diterbitkan  dalam  Jurnal  Pendidikan  Kimia  Indonesia  (JPKimIa).  Untuk  mencapai tujuan tersebut, dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan penulisan artkel ilmiah kepada guru-guru kimia yang tergabung dalam MGMP Kimia Kabupaten Karangasem. Kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan diawali dengan berkoordinasi dengan MGMP Kimia Kabupaten Karangasem mengenai jadwal dan tempat pelaksanaan P2M, pelatihan pencarian informasi atau browsing internet, pembekalan penulisan artikel ilmiah, pelatihan menganalisis artikel, dan pembuatan artikel ilmiah. Kegiatan dirancang selama satu bulan penuh dari tanggal 23 September sampai dengan tanggal 31 Oktober 2012 yang dilaksanakan  di   SMAN  1  Amplapura.  Kegiatan  pembekalan  tentang  pencarian informasi  atau  browsing  internet,  penulisan  proposal  penelitian  tindakan  kelas, penulisan artikel ilmiah, analisis artikel, dan pembuatan artikel ilmiah dilakukan pada tanggal 23 Septermber 2012. Jumlah peserta yang hadir pada kegiatan pembekalan tersebut ini sebanyak 16 orang dari 30 orang yang diundang. Pada pembekalan ini, peserta sangat antusias bertanya, tidak saja berkaitan dengan artikel yang akan dibuat, tetapi juga berkaitan dengan penelitian tindakan kelas. Setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan penulisan artikel yang dibimbing oleh dosen-dosen yang terlibat dalam kegiatan P2M ini. Penulisan artikel dilanjutkan di rumah masing-masing selama satu bulan. Selama penulisan artikel ini, peserta dapat berkonsultasi melalui telepon atau email. Kemudian, pada tanggal 31 Oktober 2012 peserta hadir membawa artikel yang telah dibuat dalam kegiatan pembimbingan. Jumlah peserta yang hadir pada kegiatan ini sebanyak 11 orang dari 30 orang yang diundang. Pada kegiatan ini peserta diberikan kesempatan untuk menanyakan  masalah-masalah  yang  dihadapi  berkaitan  dengan  penulisan  artikel. Jumlah artikel yang dapat dikumpulkan pada kegiatan ini sebanyak enam buah artikel
