Abstract

In geothermal reservoirs, hydrothermal distribution is significant. The most widely utilized geothermal reservoirs to date are those of hydrothermal systems, which are geothermal systems where the reservoir contains steam, water, or a mixture of both, depending on the pressure and temperature of the reservoir. One of geophysical method that is enough to map subsurface conditions to determine the hydrothermal distribution is the 2-Dimensional Geoelectric method using the Wenner configuration. This method aims to study the variation of rock resistivity below the earth's surface, resulting in a two-dimensional profile of the subsurface resistivity model used to describe the layered subsurface resistivity structure. The results are in the form of 2-Dimensional modeling of the distribution of hydrothermal manifestations with data processing using pyGIMLI (Python Library for Inversion and Modeling in Geophysics) software. In the study area  Pungguk Pedaro Village, Bingin Kuning District, Lebong Regency, the Hulusimpang Formation has a high alteration intensity, as evidenced by the weathering in rocks and the micrographic appearance. The types of stones found in this research area include andesite rocks, including sandy gravel, volcanic breccia, tuff, andesite, basalt, basalt-andesite sand, silty sand, and clay. Or rocks derived from acidic magma.

Abstract

South Bengkulu is one of the regencies in Bengkulu Province which is in an area of active tectonic plate activity, namely the India-Australia and Eurasian plates so it is prone to earthquakes. The City of Manna continues to carry out developments so that it requires various information for urban and regional planning, especially information on subsurface rock structures. This study aims to determine the structure of rock layers based on shear wave velocity (Vs), Poisson ratio, shear modulus and Young's modulus in Manna City. This research was conducted using the Multichannel Analysis of Surface Wave (MASW) method at 12 measurement stations. The tool used is the PASI 16S24-P seismograph. Data processing to produce a 1D model is WinMASW 5.0 Professional Software and to display 3-D data Voxler software is used based on the value of Vs. Then do the calculation to get the value of Vs30.  From the results of the Vs30 value in the study area, it shows that the Manna City area consists of 4 rock types including soft soil (SE), stiff soil (SD), very dense soil and soft rock (SC) and rock (SB) rock types. The highest layering value of shear wave velocity (Vs) is at the fourth point with a value of Vs 386-1263 m/s, Poisson ratio 0.40-0.35, shear modulus 298-3652 MPa and Young's modulus 804-9430 MPa at a depth of 4.4 -30 meters. While the smallest value is at the sixth location point with a value of Vs 180-474 m/s, Poisson ratio 0.40-0.30 shear modulus 60-461 MPa, and Young's modulus 168-1.243 MPa at a depth of 2.6-30 meters.

Abstract

South Bengkulu is prone to earthquakes because it is located on the Great Sumatran Fault. Apart from that, it is also influenced by the activity of the Musi and Manna segments, so that besides being influenced by the two active tectonic plates it is also influenced by the local segment. This research is located in Manna City and Manna Market, which is mostly inhabited by people and is the capital of South Bengkulu. In connection with infrastructure development, it is necessary to know the condition of the soil layers to minimize the risk of building damage due to earthquakes. This research aims to analyze earthquake-prone areas based on dominant frequency parameters, soil amplification, seismic vulnerability index and sediment layer thickness (h). Research data comes from microtremor measurements at 60 measuring station points in Manna City and Manna Market. The tool used is a Short Period Portable Seismometer Model Gemini 2 SN-1405. This microtremor data is processed using the Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method. The results of data processing show that the research area has the lowest dominant frequency of 3.95 Hz and the highest of 49.71 Hz. The ground vibration amplification value is classified as small to medium, the lowest is 1.3 and the highest is 5.19. The lowest earthquake vulnerability index was 0.18 cm2/s and the highest was 2.24 cm2/s. The smallest sediment thickness was 3.77 meters and the thickest was 47.48 meters. From the results of the calculation of the seismic vulnerability index in Kota Manna and Pasar Manna Districts, the seismic vulnerability index value is relatively small, in accordance with the amplification factor and the thickness of the sediment layer. Based on this research, although Manna City and Manna Market are often shaken by earthquakes, the earthquake vibrations experience small amplification.

Abstract

The hot spring pool, Lemeu Village, Lebong Regency, is one of the geothermal fields. This research aims to identify the study area's geothermal potential and lithology. This is illustrated by the correlation method of resistivity and electrical conductivity values of rocks based on geoelectric measurements. This research uses the Wenner-Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method, as many as four tracks spread around the hot spring hill with a length of 480 meters, which are used to see variations in resistivity values that can indicate the presence of hydrothermal potential. The result is a 2D Resistivity model processed with Res2DinvX32 software. Based on the interpretation results, the subsurface rock lithology in each track is relatively similar in color, texture, grain size, and composition because it is around the hill. The Hulusimpang formation consists of clay, silty sand, tuff, andesite, basalt, and granite. Hydrothermal is found on lines 2 and 4 with resistivity values of 7.3 and 10.1 Ωm at a depth of 26 meters. Geothermal potential in the research area is divided into several temperature categories; some have low, medium, and high temperatures. In the research area, tracks 1 and 3 have low temperatures.

Abstract

Investigation of the groundwater potential in the Pulau Baai area, Kampung Melayu Sub-district, Bengkulu City, must be carried out in such a way that the activities and needs of the people in the area can be fulfilled and the needs of the population in the area can be met. This study aims to determine the status of groundwater using the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method. Measurements were made using a resistivity meter, and the results for each configuration depended on changes in resistivity. Measurements for each configuration depend on changes in resistivity at depth, the vertical direction (sounding), and the lateral direction (mapping), so hydrogeological analysis in this activity aims to get the maximum use of groundwater / underground water in aquifers for raw water needs. The dominant rock structures in the study area are clay, alluvium, siltstone, and sandstone, as well as some rocks with suitable porosity and permeability as water carriers, such as sand and gravel. However, what appears to have considerable potential is that groundwater is found at depths of 4-53 meters in VES 1, VES 2, VES 3, VES 5, and VES 10. The results of the analysis show that the location of the Pulau Baai, Kampung Melayu Sub-district, Bengkulu City Priority Utilization Area is within the groundwater storage area, so it can be used to meet the raw water needs of the study area.

Abstract

The Telaga Tujuh Warna area in Lebong Regency exhibits geothermal manifestations such as hot water, mud craters, and fumaroles. This research aims to characterize the geothermal potential using 2D Magnetotelluric (MT) inversion. Measurements were conducted with the ADU-07e Magnetotelluric device, involving a 16-hour measurement period. Data collection followed the sounding principle with three frequency levels: high (4096 Hz), medium (1024 Hz), and low (128 Hz), spaced approximately 500 meters apart. Analysis confirms the consistency between 1D and 2D resistivity models, generating a resistivity distribution cross-section. Key findings include: (1) a low-resistivity cap layer (20–40 Ω-m) at approximately 1 km depth; (2) a medium-resistivity reservoir (40–160 Ω-m) at depths of 1–2 km; (3) a high-resistivity geothermal resource (>300 Ω-m) at depths of 1–2.5 km; and (4) a zone with very low resistivity values (2–16 Ω-m) at depths less than 1 km, potentially indicating a fumarole emitting hot water vapor and gas through rock fractures. These findings aim to advance geothermal exploration in Lebong Regency and support Indonesia's renewable energy objectives.
