Abstract

Struktur batuan bawah permukaan yang lemah diduga salah satu faktor penyebab tingginya laju abrasi di Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara. Struktur batuan bawah permukaan ini diestimasi berdasarkan analisis nilai kecepatan gelombang geser (Vs) dari pengukuran Multichannel Analysis of Surface Wave (MASW) di 20 titik sepanjang garis pantai. Nilai Vs diinterpretasikan berupa profil 1D dan 2D untuk menggambarkan struktur dan jenis material penyusun batuan di tiap kedalaman dan lapisan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa stratigrafi nilai Vs bawah permukaan di daerah rawan abrasi Bengkulu Utara terdiri tiga lapis batuan. Lapisan pertama dengan nilai Vs <180 m/s yang mengindikasikan didominasi oleh lempung lunak, lapisan kedua 180<Vs<360 m/s didominasi oleh tanah kaku dan lapisan ketiga 360< Vs <760 m/s mengindikasikan didominasi oleh tanah yang sangat padat dan batuan lunak. Material penyusun batuan terdiri dari endapan pasir, kerikil, lempung, dan alluvium yang tingkat kepadatannya rendah dan bervariasi tiap-tiap kedalaman. Tidak ditemukan adanya indikasi batuan keras hingga kedalaman 30 meter, hanya batuan berstruktur lunak yang sangat mudah retak dan rapuh. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa struktur batuan bawah permukaan di daerah rawan abrasi Bengkulu Utara ini merupakan batuan berstruktur lemah yang rentan mengalami deformasi seperti crack, settlement, dan collapse seperti fenomena abrasi yang selama ini terjadi.

Abstract

This research was aimed at describe whether listen-read-discuss (LRD) strategy be able to improve students? reading comprehension or not. It was a classroom action research. The data collected uses quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data was gained from the result of pre-test and post-test from reading test. Meanwhile, qualitative data was gained from the result of observation sheets toward students and teachers activity. The instrument uses were test and observation sheet. The result shows that the strategy be able to improve the students? reading comprehension in report text. The improvement can be seen from the mean score of students from pre-test, post-test one, and post-test two. The mean score of pre-test was 69.5 (35%), there were seven students who passed the minimum passing grade, in the post-test one, 72.2 (60%), twelve students passed the minimum passing grade and in the post-test two, 78.25 (85%),  seventeen students passed the minimum passing grade (KKM).

Abstract

This research was aimed at knowing the effectiveness of using Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite and Review or PQ4R toward Students? Critical Thinking Ability on Reading Comprehension at Second Grade Students at SMAN 1 Batulayar in Academic Year 2017/2018. This research was an experimental research and the design was quasi-experimental nonequivalent design pre-test post-test design. The sample all of students at Second Grade and the total number was 24 students in which consisted of two classes. Where II-A consisted of 12 students and II-B consisted of 12 students. The class divided into two groups, namely experimental group and Control group. The data was collected by using pre-test and pos-test. The instrument of this research used was reading test inform of multiple choice test. The technique that used to analysis the data was t-test formula. From the data analysis, it found that the result of t-test (1.41) was lower than t-table (1.714). The mean score of experimental group in post-test was (19.16) and the mean score of pre-test was (7.08). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the used of PQ4R has not effective toward Students? Critical Thinking Ability on Reading Comprehension at Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Batu Layar in Academic Year 2018/2019.

Abstract

The research entitled ?Error analysis in using ?going to? and? will? in sentences; at Ma NW Mispalah  Central Lombok in academic year 2013/2014? is aimed to find out the errors that students make in using going to and will in sentences.  The sample of this research is all of the students at MA NW Mispalah Central Lombok that consists of one class with the total 51 students. Collecting the data of the study, the researcher uses grammar test as the main instrument which was distributed to the whole samples. The four steps; identification, classification, description and explanation were used to analyzed the data in this study. The conclusion of the study concluded that the errors that students made are categorized into omissions errors, addition errors and miss-formation errors. Students omitted the ?going to? and ?will?, copulas and auxiliaries which must appear in the well-formed English sentences, they added going to and will and copulas which must not appear in the well-formed English sentences, they miss-formation the going to and will, copulas and auxiliaries by using the wrong forms of morphemes or structures, they also made the incorrect placement of verbs, adverbs and objects or complements of the sentences. The total percentage of miss-formation error categories, the writer found that the most likely committed by the students is miss-formation of going to and will. From 7, 2 % of miss-formation categories, about 2, 9 % are miss-formation of  ?going to? and ?will?.

Abstract

Permasalahan pokok yang dialami oleh Kelompok Tani Pangestu Rakyat Desa Barumanis dalam membangun usaha mikro produksi bubuk kopi mulai dari permasalahan pengemasan hingga pemasaran produk “Pandu Coffee” telah berangsur terselesaikan. Sistem pengemasan dan pemasaran sudah serba bersentuhan dengan teknologi dan menyesuaikan dengan kemajuan era digital. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang menerapkan setidaknya empat metode antara lain metode pendidikan, pelatihan, subtitusi dan difusi IPTEKS. Metode pendekatan teori dan praktek meliputi pendampingan pengetahuan TIK untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dalam merancang, mambuat dan menerapkan kemasan produk dan e-commerce sebagai instrumen pemasaran dan penjualan secara online. Hasil yang dicapai bersama mitra antara lain pembaruan wujud kemasan produk kopi dan terciptanya sistem pemasaran produk yang dilakukan secara online seperti media sosial (Gmail, facebook, Instagram, dan youtube) dan website. Produk Pandu Coffee saat ini berangsur semakin dikenal banyak orang yang ditandai dengan bertambahnya jumlah pengunjung yang mengunjungi media sosial dan website Pandu Coffee. Calon pelanggan dapat memesan produk melalui Shoppee dan Tokko.io sebagai marketplacenya. Setelah menerapkan e-commerce, penjualan produk mitra meningkat signifikan, yaitu menjual 500 bungkus (125 Kg) dan menghasilkan laba hingga Rp. 5.000.000,- hanya selama 2 bulan. Perbaikan kemasan dan penerapan e-commerce pada produk mitra dinilai efektif untuk menambah pendapatan mitra. Kata kunci: kemasan, e-commerce, Pandu Coffee, Kelompok Tani Pangestu Rakyat, Barumanis

Abstract

Bengkulu City is one of the areas vulnerable to earthquakes in Indonesia and several studies have shown the city experienced a unique phenomenon called liquefaction during the Mw 8.6 Bengkulu-Mentawai Earthquake. This event has initiated a step by step intensive study on earthquake in the area but previous studies are generally limited by the use of site investigation data to empirically analyse liquefaction potential and those that used advance method such as the seismic wave propagation model are rare. This means the level of liquefaction damage in the study area is not totally understood, therefore, this research focused on implementing the ground response analysis to quantify the Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI) using several areas in Bengkulu City in order to determine their vulnerability. The process involved the collection of several site investigation data including boring log and shear wave velocity profile as well as a desk study to determine the geological condition of the observed sites. Moreover, a non-linear seismic ground response analysis was conducted to obtain maximum ground surface acceleration (amax) parameter which was further used to analyse the liquefaction potential in the study area. The results showed several sites have the potential to experience liquefaction during earthquakes. The method applied was considered successful and the results are expected to be implemented for city development. Furthermore, the framework is recommended for adoption in investigating the liquefaction in other areas.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika yang monoton di dalam kelas, dapat mengurangi pemahaman sains bagi siswa. Kurangnya pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains dapat menyebabkan lemahnya motivasi dan minat terhadap fisika. Tulisan ini memaparkan hasil pengabdian masyarakat melalui pengenalan metode geofisika dan geoteknik dalam pembelajaran fisika kepada siswa SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pengalaman bagi siswa-siswi SMAN 3 Kota Bengkulu dalam pembelajaran fisika. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi minat pembelajaran fisika, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan implementasi teori gelombang seismik di lapangan. Selanjutnya, sosialisasi mendalam mengenai konsep gelombang seismik dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman teoritis siswa. Sebagai bentuk penerapan pemahaman teori yang diperoleh, pengukuran gelombang seismik dan interpretasinya pada area di sekitar sekolah dilakukan oleh para siswa. Hasil pengukuran selanjutnya diulas lebih mendalam, sehingga pemahaman siswa terhadap teori gelombang menjadi optimal. Setelah melakukan program pengabdian ini, perubahan signifikan teramati pada siswa. Para siswa juga mampu menginterpretasikan hasil pengukuran dengan baik. Selain berupa pengetahuan dan pengalaman tentang penerapan metode geofisika dan geoteknik, semangat dan rasa ingin tahu peserta juga semakin bertambah. Keluasaan keilmuan fisika telah disadari, sehingga hampir semua siswa yang mengikuti program ini siap memilih program studi fisika, teknik sipil, dan geofisika sebagai tujuan mereka setelah lulus SMA.

Abstract

Shear wave velocity (Vs) structure at along of Central Bengkulu-Kepahiang crossline has been mapped. This research aims to identify the subsurface structure and to estimate the constituent material type of rock in landslide-prone areas (Central Bengkulu-Kepahiang crossline). Shear wave velocity structure on each site is obtained by the HVSR-inversion of 146 microtremor data (ambient noise recording of seismometer). Vs structure at the line mapped from the surface until to 30 meters of the depth. Groups of Vs are identified in class E (Vs <180), Class D (180≤ Vs <360), Class C (360≤ Vs <760), and Class B (760≤ Vs <1500). The subsurface structure at the depth of 0 to 10 meters are dominated by stiff soil, very dense soil, and soft rock which has highly fractured and weathered rock properties. At the depth of 15 meters to 30 meters, the subsurface structure is dominated by hard rock but it is high potential or easy to fracturing and weathering like the properties of the rocks in areas that have landslides in the past. Based on Vs value, rock constituent materials are deposition of sand, clay, gravel and alluvium ranging from soft to relatively hard structures at the depth.

Abstract

THE APPLICATION OF NON-ELECTRIC PUMP (HERON’S FOUNTAIN) FOR DFT HYDROPONIC (DEEP FLOW TECHNIQUE) IN SUKAMERINDU, SUNGAI SERUT, BENGKULU CITY. Science and technology-based community engagement about the application of non-electric pump (Heron’s Fountain) for DFT hydroponics (Deep Flow Technique) have been carried out for mother group (respondent) in Sukamerindu, Sungai Serut, Bengkulu City. The aim of this activity is to apply the Appropriate Technology like hydroponics and Heron’s Fountain pumps. The methods of this activities are carried out by training which include socialization and field practice. This program produces 5 hydroponics which are equipped with Heron’s Fountain pumps and brief guidebook about of technologies. The application of the Heron’s Fountain pump for DFT hydroponics was effective in circulating nutrients for hydroponic plants. The Heron’s Fountain pump works temporarily for 45 minutes (10 liters). It was considered sufficient to circulate nutrients for hydroponic plants as evidenced by the same quality for all plants. All plants grow optimally and more yields than initial estimates. The planting period to harvest using hydroponic technology and the Heron’s Fountain pump is quite short, which is approximately 2.5 months. The use of these two technologies helps partners to start farming without using soil media. The cost of making and operating both systems so as to increase the interest of respondent to implement them independently.

Abstract

AQUAPONIC APPLICATION OF ORGANIC VEGETABLES-CATFISH IN BUCKETS (ASOILELEDAMBER) IN BENGKULU CITY. Bengkulu City is the capital of Bengkulu Province with the highest population in Bengkulu Province so it requires the availability of high food consumption as well. Required foodstuffs such as vegetables, meat, and fish, not all are available from Bengkulu City, so it is not uncommon the price on the market becomes more expensive. To fulfill the needs of foodstuffs, some people of Bengkulu City make effort to cultivate vegetables and maintain fish in ponds, but this method is also difficult to do because of the limited land area. Based on the description, it is necessary to apply the Appropriate Technology (TTG) for the people of Bengkulu City to fulfill family food security, one of which is the application of aquaponic technology: Asoileledamber (Organic Vegetable-Catfish Aquaponics in Buckets). This community service activity aims to provide information and training to the group of service partners in Bengkulu City about the benefits of Asoileledamber. Community service activities include Asoileledamber counseling activities, the provision of guidebooks, provision of tools and materials for cultivation such as fish seedlings, vegetable seeds and pellet feed. The results perceived by the service partners were harvesting Catfish from the second month of maintenance to the fourth month of maintenance. Organic vegetables are harvested starting from 2 weeks after planting time (SMT) until the 4th month of maintenance with an average harvest of 1-2 bunches per bucket.
