Abstract

Children's interest in learning should be continuously enhanced. Selecting suitable learning media is very important to support the increased interest in learning. A film can be one of the learning media that offers advantages for achieving a quality children's education process. This study aims to discuss the functions of films for children in children's education. The method used is descriptive qualitative with literary studies techniques. The study results show that there are three functions of films for children as learning media, namely film as a media for language learning, film as a media for character building, and film as a media for introducing multiculturalism. Film can stimulate children's imagination so that children can think actively and creatively. However, the functions of films are inseparable from the role of parents and teachers in selecting films and methods or techniques for presenting films so that children remain active learners.

Abstract

A descriptive research method with a philological approach is used in this study. Field study methodologies and literature research were used to collect data. The article will explain the illumination of manuscripts through the formulation of the problem, which includes the understanding of SURI, the Relationship between Literary Event Activities and the Purpose of Forming a Creative Industry from SURI, the Exhibition of Manuscripts and Creative Products of the SURI Industry as a Form of Tourism Literary Event Activities, and the meaning behind the illumination of manuscripts contained in SURI products. The goal of this article is to understand and know that the SURI exhibition may be used as a valuable event activity involving tourism, as well as to explain why there are still many manuscripts that have not been researched about the meanings and philosophies in West Sumatra. The findings of this study are theoretical in terms of the research hypotheses proposed, as well as practical in terms of revealing how the literary activities, as well as the philosophy and meaning behind the illumination of Minangkabau manuscripts in West Sumatra.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the literary event, theTemu Penyair Asia Tenggara II (TPAT) or Southeast Asian Poets Gathering II, as a potential tourism attraction. The background of this study lies in the existence of various literary festivals across the archipelago that have the potential to boost tourism, yet remain unknown to the wider public. One such event is held in Padang Panjang. This research investigates the impact of visitors' experiences on their return visits to the city where the festival takes place. The methodology employed in this research is a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative methods were used to collect data through a survey questionnaire distributed to 14 respondents, covering 10 key indicators. Subsequently, the questionnaire data was processed using qualitative descriptive analysis with a focus on literary tourism. The research corpus is the TPAT II festival held in Padang Panjang, West Sumatra. Data collection involved distributing questionnaires to 14 correspondents, addressing 10 specific indicators. The research process included data collection through field surveys. The collected data was then processed and analyzed to reveal the literary event's potential as a tourism attraction, employing literary tourism perspectives. The findings of this research indicate that visitors perceive literature and tourism, as showcased in the festival held in Padang Panjang, positively. This perception leads to a desire among visitors to return to Padang Panjang. Visitor satisfaction is anticipated to serve as a model for organizing other festivals, acting as promotional platforms for lesser-known places or tourist destinations, thereby contributing to sustainable tourism. Consequently, regions hosting TPAT II events are expected to become tourism assets for Padang Panjang.

Abstract

The activity aimed to improve the language skills of SMPN 43 Padang students, both written and verbal, in writing letters. It was considered necessary due to problems arising from the impoliteness of some students of junior high school in both oral and written communication for both formal and non-formal situations. The method used in this community service was participatory, planned by the Study Program of Indonesian Literature lecturer of Universitas Andalas. Furthermore, the team visited the service centre through observation and communication with SMPN 43 Padang teachers to look for problems and solutions related to language politeness in the school. After that, the team and teachers collaborated by compiling an agenda for implementing the engagement service. During the implementation stage, the material was presented, followed by the active participation of students through oral and written communication practices. In the final stage, an evaluation was conducted to formulate the main problems and assess subsequent developments after the community service activities. Based on the review carried out through an analysis of student work results, in the form of a comparison before and after receiving the material and engaging in writing practice, this service increased students' Indonesian politeness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi eksistensi perempuan pada novel Perempuan di Titik Nol karya Nawal el-Saadawi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan struktural dan diperdalam dengan konsep feminisme eksistensialis yang diungkapkan oleh Simon de Beauvoir melalui langkah penelitian. Langkah-langkah penelitian yang dilakukan adalah 1) menganalisis unsur intrinsik novel dan 2) menganalisis representasi eksistensi perempuan melalui tokoh protagonis (Firdaus) dengan pendekatan kajian feminis yang diungkapkan oleh Simon Beauvoir. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa tokoh Firdaus mampu menunjukkan eksistensinya sebagai perempuan yang memiliki kebebasan dan pilihan dalam hidupnya. Tokoh ini digambarkan sebagai perempuan yang berani, mandiri terutama mandiri secara finansial, pintar, berprestasi, dll. yang mendobrak atas konstruksi patriarki bahwa perempuan adalah second sex yang tidak mendapatkan kebebasan dalam hidupnya. Tokoh ini merupakan tokoh yang mampu menunjukkan eksistensinya baik di ranah domestik maupun publik sebagai jalan keluar dari sistem patriarki yang salah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the phenomenological and stylistic aspects of the Penunggu Makam (Grave Keeper) poetry anthology. The study in this study is based on the theory of phenomenology or stratum norms and stylistic theory. This study uses a qualitative approach. The method used is descriptive qualitative method, namely by describing and analyzing poetry from phenomenological aspects or normative and stylistic strata. The phenomenological aspect of the poems in the anthology of Penunggu Makam is thematically colored by the issue of death which is colored by sadness, sadness and loneliness. The problem of death is also a general concept of human life that all of them will surely die. In the stylistic aspect, there are several language explorations. Exploration of natural images appears in most of the poems. Figure of speech also appears in this poem with dominant personification figure of speech wrapped in natural images. At the level of diction, there is also an exploration of concrete dictions with their inherent characteristics. The words used in this poem are widely known by the public. Nevertheless, the diction used by the poet makes this poem have such a deep meaning and makes the reader immersed in the atmosphere and feelings felt by the poet in line after line of his poem or poem.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Implikasi dari penggunaan gaya bahasa dan ekspresi dalam konten TikTok adalah pengaruhnya terhadap perkembangan bahasa Indonesia dalam konteks sosial. Penggunaan bahasa slang dalam konten TikTok dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman dan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia di kalangan pengguna TikTok. Hal ini dapat menciptakan variasi baru dalam bahasa Indonesia dan mencerminkan perkembangan bahasa yang memadukan unsur-unsur slang dan gaya bahasa TikTok.   Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya bahasa dan ekspresi yang digunakan dalam konten TikTok serta implikasinya dalam konteks sosial. Metode: Dalam penelitian ini, kami menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus terhadap penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalam konten TikTok. Kami menganalisis 100 video TikTok yang diunggah oleh pengguna berbahasa Indonesia. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat berbagai gaya bahasa dan ekspresi yang digunakan dalam konten TikTok, termasuk penggunaan bahasa slang, permainan kata, dan penggunaan ekspresi emosi yang dramatis. Implikasi dari penggunaan gaya bahasa dan ekspresi dalam konten TikTok adalah adanya pengaruh terhadap perkembangan bahasa Indonesia dalam konteks sosial. Penggunaan bahasa slang dalam konten TikTok, misalnya, dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman dan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia di kalangan pengguna TikTok Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pemahaman tentang bagaimana gaya bahasa dan ekspresi dalam konten TikTok mempengaruhi penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalam konteks sosial. Implikasi sosial dari penggunaan bahasa dan gaya bahasa dalam konten TikTok perlu dipertimbangkan dalam pengembangan dan pemeliharaan bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam pengembangan bahasa Indonesia yang lebih adaptif terhadap perkembangan media sosial seperti TikTok.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal the intrinsic elements of the short story "Armini" by Motinggo Busye as a representation of the constellation of popular literature during the 1950s to 1960s as a development of science and technology in humanity. This is motivated by Motinggo Busye's works being considered as "light novels" that are thought to present trivial matters. However, in reality, his short stories can provide an overview of the development of science and technology in humanity through the trend of pocket books in his time. "Armini" is one of Motinggo's works that implies a story of humanity, portraying the life of a widow and the negative stigma she must face. This narrative of humanity is the aspect that will be further explored. The research method employed is qualitative research with descriptive analysis. The data acquisition technique used is literature study. To uncover the human values, this research utilizes the theory of human values presented by Nurgiyantoro through the intrinsic elements of characters and characterization previously performed. The results of this study consist of two types of human values as expressed by Nurgiyantoro, namely the relationship between humans and others, and the relationship between humans and themselves. Additionally, the research indicates that Motinggo successfully attempts to break the negative stigma against a widow presented through the elements of characters and characterization in the story. This is a representation of human values towards women. This research contributes theoretically to literary studies, particularly popular literature. Moreover, it provides practical contributions by raising awareness in society to eliminate negative stigmas against women.

Abstract

ABSTRAKInstagram merupakan Media sosial yang sangat di gemari oleh masyarakat Indonesia.banyaknya informasiyang berasal dari akun Instagram membuat banyaknyakomentar dari para pengguna akun Instagram. Salah satunya yaitu pada akun Instagram “Folkative”. Kesalahan dalam pengunaan tanda baca dan huruf kapitalpada komentar akun tersebut menjadi suatu fenomenayang berpengaruh menjadi tujuan penelitian ini. Metodepenelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu unggahan komentarpada akun Instagram “Folkative”. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan terdapat 5 unggahan komentar yang memiliki kesalahan pengunaan tanda baca dan kesalahandalam penulisan huruf kapital. Kesimpulan daripenelitian ini yaitu, terdapatt banyak kesalahan dalampenulisan yang tidak sesuai dengaan pedoman Bahasa Indonesia.  Kata kunci: Tanda Baca, Huruf Kapital, Folkative ABSTRACTInstagram is a social media that is very popular with the people of Indonesia. the amount of information that comes from Instagram accounts makes many comments from Instagram account users. One of them is on the Instagram account "Folkative". Errors in the use of punctuation and capital letters in the account comments become a phenomenon that affects the purpose of this research. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data source used is uploaded comments on the "Folkative" Instagram account. The results showed that there were 5 uploaded comments that had punctuation errors and errors in writing capital letters. The conclusion of this research is that there are many errors in writing that are not in accordance with Indonesian language guidelines. Keywords: Punctuation, Capital letters, Folkative

Abstract

Film ”Ketika Berhenti di Sini” menggabungkan genre romansa, studi ini menginvestasikan pengaruh penyampaian makna pesan dari dialog dalam film “Ketika Berhenti Disini” tehadap penonton, dengan mempertimbangkan pengaruh musik pendukungnya. Film ini dipilih karena kompleksitas naratifnya yang menghadirkan beragam tema dan juga emosi bagi para penontonya. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menganalisi respons penonton terhadap dialog-dialog kunci dalam film dan bagaimana musik turut memperkuat pengalaman emosional mereka. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dialog-dialog yang kuat dalam konteks naratif yang mendalam mampu meningkatkan pemahaman penonton terhadap makna pesan yang ingin disampaikan, dengan tambahan musik sebagai elemen pendukung yang memperdalam pengalaman emosional mereka. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya integrasi dialog dan musik dalam menciptakan pengalaman sinematik yang mendalam dan berkesan bagi para penonton sebagai penikmat film “Ketika Berhenti Disini”
