Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic values as outlined by Sa’īd Nursī in Mursyid al-Syabāb for the preventing of conflicts on social media. The research focuses on five core values, namely an awareness of mortality, faith in the Hereafter, consistent engagement with the Qur’an, control of carnal desires, and a strong orientation toward knowledge. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach, data [were gathered] through [a] literature review and textual analysis. The findings reveal that these Islamic values play a significant role in shaping individuals who are moderate, empathetic, and better capable of managing emotions effectively in the digital sphere. For instance, awareness of life’s transience fosters tolerance and reduces aggressive behavior. Similarly, belief in the Afterlife instills moral responsibility, thereby inhibiting the spread of hate speech. A close connection with the Qur’an reinforces ethical foundations, while controlling one’s desires and maximizing the use of knowledge enhances the quality of digital discourse. In conclusion, the study suggests that comprehending and applying Sa’īd Nursī ’s Islamic values provide a preventive measure against conflicts on social media, thus strengthening social cohesion amid diverse internet users.

Abstract

This study examines how hadiths concerning God, angels, and divine decree construct epistemic authority within Sunni and Shi’a traditions and how their theological convergence remains constrained by different mechanisms of interpretation. The study employs a qualitative method using library research with a descriptive-analytical-comparative approach. Primary data were purposively selected from Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, and al-Kāfī, focusing on representative reports within the three thematic clusters, while Mir’āt al-‘Uqūl and classical Qur’anic commentaries serve as interpretive sources. Data were analyzed through historical-critical contextualization, Reisigl and Wodak’s Discourse-Historical Approach (DHA), and Ricoeur’s hermeneutics, particularly the dialectic of distanciation and appropriation. The findings demonstrate that both traditions converge at the level of fundamental metaphysical principles, particularly divine transcendence, angelic existence, and divine determination, yet diverge in the mechanisms through which epistemic authority is established. Sunni discourse tends to articulate truth through relational praxis, ritual participation, and religious experience, whereas Shi’a discourse emphasizes ontological consistency and the epistemic authority of the Imam. The study argues that Sunni-Shi’a overlap is multilayered rather than identical. Consequently, critical theological dialogue requires recognition of shared principles without erasing the historical and discursive asymmetries through which each tradition authorizes knowledge of the unseen.

Abstract

The massive development of technology in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 has brought many social changes and, in practice, has changed human life at every level. The number of jobs that are delayed because of smartphones, the inequality of news on social media, and the truth that overflows and is obscured are examples of how life has changed significantly. This indicates that industrial revolution 4.0 does not only bring changes in a positive sense but also in a negative one. Obscurity and vagueness to the truth can, in turn, damage morality and erase human values. ‘Uzlah or separating oneself from humans, is one of the concepts in Sufism recommended by the Prophet Muhammad when slander has become rampant and riots can no longer be extinguished, which today can be seen by the existence of post-truth narratives or denial of truth. Some criticize that committing ‘uzlah is a cowardly act of running away from problems. This criticism cannot be fully justified and cannot be completely refuted – because textually, some have practiced 'uzlah (meditation in mountains, caves, away from crowds). However, 'uzlah has spiritual values that can maintain emotional and mental stability for those who practice it. The paper seeks to contextualize of 'uzlah according to the needs of the times. The results of this paper find that ‘uzlah can be applied today not only to practice spiritual values but also to strengthen one's stance, enjoy life, be happy at work, be measured in action, and promote objective truth. With these values, it is clear that 'uzlah can be used as one a step to find the truth in the post-truth era of the industrial revolution.

Abstract

This article will discuss comprehensively the creation of heaven and earth in Q.S. Al-Anbiyā' [21]: 30. This theme was raised because the surah describes the origins of the heavens and the earth. Interestingly, scientifically, human theories about the origin of the universe (including heaven and earth) emerged in the modern era through Nebula (1755), Big Bang (1927), Steady State Theory (1948), and others. Long before these theories emerged, the Al-Qur'ān through surah Al-Anbiyā': 30 said that heaven and earth were originally a unified form before being separated into heaven and earth. Therefore, this article will focus on the meaning of history, the main message of history, and the main dynamic message of Q.S. Al-Anbiyā' [21]: 30, and elaborates on the creation of heaven and earth based on scientific interpretation and approach. The method used in this paper is descriptive analysis. The approach used is contextual, where Ma'nā cum Maghzā is the theory. The results of this paper found that: (1) the historical meaning of surah Al-Anbiyā': 30 is a satire on unbelievers who do not want to believe even though they witness natural phenomena around them; (2) the main historical message is the importance of thinking about the creation of the heavens and the earth and being grateful for all the blessings that–originating from the air–God has given; (3) anyone who claims to believe in God should study not only religious knowledge but also study scientific knowledge. People who have the potential to make human life better, but do not do so, are considered infidels, that is, closing themselves off from the interests of living creatures.
