Abstract

Abstract.This study aims to describe the ability to write new poetry in Makassar language through audiovisual media for class VIII students of SMPN 1 Takalar. The population in this study were all 256 grade VIII students of SMPN 1 Takalar, Takalar Regency, spread across 8 classes. The sample was determined as many as 33 students of SMPN 1 Takalar, Takalar Regency. The type of sampling used is cluster random sampling. This research was conducted twice with research subjects namely class VIII-A students, totaling 33 people, carried out in an odd semester, on March 13 and March 20 2023 to be precise using data collection techniques in the form of performance tests (writing poetry, while analysis techniques the data used is descriptive statistics. The results of the research on the ability to write new poetry in Makassar have reached the criterion of 75%. which shows that the sample that got a score of 75-100 totaled 26 students (78.8%) and the sample that got a score of 0-74 totaled 7 students (21.2%) This shows that the ability to write new poetry in Makassar class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Takalar Takalar Regency were declared capable.Keywords: New Poetry, Writing Skill, Makassar Language, Local Language

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to identify objects and food and to reveal the symbolic meaning of makkuwaélawi ‘akikah’ in the Bugis community in Mattaropurae, Bone Regency based on Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic theory. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to data analysis techniques obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that objects and food are found in the makkuwaelawi tradition, namely icons (1) Sokko surrounded by incense which is made high and above means elevating the status of Mappakuwaélawi people, (2) Manu kampong (free-range chicken). objects and food contained in the makkuwaelawi tradition, namely index (1) Pakdupa (incense), (2) Maccemme ana’ lolo (bathe the baby). Objects and food contained in the makkuwaelawi tradition are symbols (1) utti nisi' (plantain), (2) Kaluku lolo (young coconut), (3) Sokko pute (white sticky rice) and sokko lotong (black sticky rice), (4) Were 'na liling (rice and candles). symbolic meaning can be obtained a clear picture of meaning that the Bugis people in Mattaropurae Bone district interpret objects and food in makkuwaélawi 'akikah' as a symbol of protection, welfare, happiness and sustenance because they are expected when children it's great can be useful for everyone. Keywords: objects and food, symbolic meaning of makkuwaélawi

Abstract

Abstract. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan variasi bahasa Bugis yang terdapat dalam tuturan penjual dan pembeli di pasar Pekkabata Kecamatan Duampanua Kabupaten Pinrang  berdasarkan penuturnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif penelitian kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa data lisan berupa kata, variasi bahasa Bugis yang bersumber dari penjual dan pembeli di pasar Pekkabata Kecamatan Duampanua Kabupaten Pinrang yang diambil saat proses percakapan sedang berlangsung antara penjual dan pembeli di pasar Pekkabata Kecamatan Duampanua Kabupaten Pinrang. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, teknik rekam, dan teknik simak-catat. Teknik analis data dilakukan dengan cara deskriptif interpretatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian data peneliti temukan 57 data dengan rincian variasi bahasa dari segi penutur 45 data, variasi dari segi pemakaian 3 data, variasi bahasa dari segi keformalan 3 data, dan variasi dari segi sarana yaitu terdapat variasi bahasa lisan. Fungsi bahasa 17 data dengan rincian fungsi instrumental 4 data, fungsi regulasitoris 6 data, fungsi representasional 3 data, fungsi interaksional 2 data, dan fungsi personal 2 data. Keywords: Variasi Bahasa, Bahasa Bugis, Tuturan Bahasa

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the semiotic meaning of Prayer Reading in the Mattaro Ase Baru Tradition of the Community in Mattampa Walie Village, Lappariaja District, Bone Regency using Riffaterre's Semiotic Theory based on heuristic and hermeneutic readings. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study is the reading of the new mattaro ase prayer 'save rice', with data sources from informants. Riffaterre's Semiotics Theory is used to describe the meaning of the text read only mattaro ase baru. Data analysis techniques found data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study found five mantras in the process of storing rice, namely baca doang mappanessa esso, baca doang mala ase baru, baca doang maqbaca ase massio, baca doang maq rakkiyang, and baca doang massalamak ase, so as to produce the meaning contained in the text of the spell based on heuristic and hermeneutic readings. Keywords: Meaning, Baca Doang Mattaro Ase Baru, Riffaterre Semiotics, Heuristics, and Hermeneutics

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research with the aim of describing the types and meanings of presuppositions contained in the actors of the demands in the film Layangan Putus by Benni Setiawan. The research data is the story of the actors in the film Kite Disconnect. The source of the data in this study was the film Layangan Disconnect which was downloaded via the WeTV application. Data collection techniques are document techniques, observation, listening, and note taking. The results of the study show that the types and meanings of the presuppositions contained in the speech in the film Layangan Putus by Benni Setiawan are factual presuppositions stating the meaning of real information or a fact, non-active presuppositions stating meanings that are not true or unreal, counterfactual presuppositions stating the meaning of something that is wrong and contrary to reality, Existential presuppositions state the meaning of identity existence, structural presuppositions state the use of question words to state information that is considered true, and lexical presuppositions state implied or different meanings from what is said. dominant lexical presuppositions were found, while few counterfactual presuppositions.

Abstract

Study This aims to describe the domination class ruler to subordinate class. Research data sources This is the first time the novel Laskar Pelangi was published by Andrea Hirata by Bentang Pustaka in 2005. Type study This is descriptive qualitative. The method used was to read, note, classify, and analyze. Research results show that the novel revealed a difference in class between class rulers and subordinates, which gives birth to domination. Domination between class rulers (capital owners) and class subordination (labour) is triggered by several things, like profession, environment, and pattern of life. Race labourers are exploited because of class-decisive ruler standardization in public.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to write narrative essays in Makassar language using learning video media for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency. This type of research is a type of quantitative research. The population of this study were all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency, totaling 141 students. Determining the sample in this research used Krejcie Morgan's theory with a sample of 103 students. Data collection in this research was carried out using test techniques on research samples. All the data obtained was analyzed through several stages: 1) making a list of raw scores, 2) making frequency distributions and raw scores, 3) calculating the scores obtained by students, 4) calculating the average value of students, 5) classifying students' skills based on the references provided determined. The results of this research show that class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency are categorized as capable in learning to write narrative essays in Makassar language using learning video media as seen from the grades and percentage of students who got a score of 75-100, namely 79 people (77%) from 103 samples and has reached the specified criteria, namely 75% of the sample getting 75 and above is categorized as capable.

Abstract

Moral Values in the Novel Karruq ri Bantilang Pinisi by Muhannis. This study describes the moral value of Muhannis' KRBP novel through pragmatic theory. This type of qualitative descriptive research. The research data includes all sentences and quotes that contain moral values in the KRBP novel by Muhannis. The data source for this research is the 427-page novel KRBP by Muhannis, published by Ombak. Data collection techniques include reading, observing, and taking notes. The results of the study reveal that the moral values in the KRBP novel by Muhannis consist of: (1) the human relationship with oneself contains shame, hurt, hard work, self-awareness, sincerity, humility, and patience; (2) the human relationship with God contains prayer and praying to God; and (3) human relations with other human beings contain parental advice to children, advice to others, parental affection for children, cooperation, courtesy, and concern for others.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of conversational implicatures in the novel "A Man Who Leaves the House" by Phutut EA. Type of descriptive qualitative research. The data source is the speech of the characters in the novel. Data collection techniques in this research are reading techniques and note-taking techniques. The research results revealed that there were 5 general conversational implicatures, 5 specific conversational implicatures, and 10 themed conversational implicatures in the novel "Seorang Laki-laki yang Keluar dari Rumah" by Phutut EA.
