Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) an overview of the implementation of academic supervision, the Teacher Working Group (KKG), and teachers’ pedagogic competences; 2) The effect of academic supervision and the Teacher Working Group (KKG) on the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Manggala District, Makassar City. This quantitative study was performed in the form of an associative research. The objects of this study were 309 elementary school teachers at 30 schools in Manggala District, Makassar City. Samples were 50% of the total population (155 people) selected using a proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected from questionnaire, observation, and documentation. The obtained data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and hypotheses were tested based on inferential statistic test. The results of the study showed that: The effectiveness of academic supervision was regarded moderate, while the Teacher Working Group (KKG) was considered effective. In addition, teachers’ pedagogical competence was categorized moderate category. Furthermore, the academic supervision and the Teacher Working Group showed a positive and significant contribution on the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Manggala Kota District Makassar. Thus, it can be concluded that academic supervision activities carried out by school principals and activities carried out in the Teacher Working Group (KKG) forum improved elementary school teachers’ pedagogical competence.

Abstract

The research was designed to reveal two crucial issues in multicultural education, namely functions and strategies to the integration of multicultural values in textbook discourse. Content analysis was employed to generate systematic and objective findings. Data were collected from textbooks used by the fourth-grade students in Indonesia and published by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia. Data collection was performed using the read-and-quote technique. Data analysis consisted of identification, categorization, and interpretation. The results of the analysis reveal that (1) multicultural values represented in textbook discourse function to build students’ positive attitude towards individual, cultural, ethnic, and gender differences to instill an anti-discrimination attitude towards different ethnics, religions, races, and develop students’ pride in sociocultural diversity. (2) Multicultural values are internalized through fiction, story characterization, cultural products, songs, and ethnic philosophies. Sociocultural aspects, social problems, and characteristics of the students are identified as factors that may impact on the functions and strategies to the internalization of the multicultural values.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh disajikan dalam bentuk deskripsi yang dianalisis dengan cara pandang teori Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data-data yang dimaksud tersebut berupa kata, frasa, atau klausa yang mengandung ikon, indeks, dan simbol dalam novel Tarian Bumi karya Oka Rusmini. Fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis novel Tarian Bumi karya Oka Rusmini dengan menggunakan kajian semiotika melalui deskripsi makna ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik dokumentasi, teknik baca, dan teknik catat. Analisis data yang akan dilakukan pada penelitian ini mengikuti tiga tahap, yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, penyimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil pada penelitian ini ditemukan bentuk ikon, indeks, dan simbol pada novel Tarian Bumi karya Oka Rusmini dengan menggunakan kajian semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce. Pertama, bentuk ikon ditemukan tokoh Luh Sekar sebagai ikon perempuan ambisius, tokoh Telaga sebagai ikon perempuan keras, dan tokoh Sagra sebagai ikon perempuan yang tegas. Kedua, bentuk indeks ditemukan indeks penderitaan tokoh Luh Sekar dan indeks malangnya nasib tokoh Telaga. Ketiga, Simbol yang ditemukan dari penelitian ini adalah simbol budaya Bali.Kata Kunci: Ikon, Indeks, Semiotika, dan Simbol,  EARTH DANCE NOVEL BY OKA RUSMINI (SEMIOTIC STUDIES OF CHARLES SANDERS PEIRCE) ABSTRACT: This type of research is qualitative research. The data obtained was presented in the form of a description analyzed by the semiotics theory of Charles Sanders Peirce. The design used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data in question are words, phrases, or clauses containing icons, indexes, and symbols in the novel Dance of the Earth by Oka Rusmini. The focus of this study is the analysis of the novel Dance of the Earth by Oka Rusmini using semiotic studies through descriptions of the meaning of icons, indexes, and symbols. The data collection techniques used in this study are documentation techniques, reading techniques, and record techniques. The data analysis that will be conducted in this study follows three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, data collection and verification. The results in this study found the shape of icons, indexes, and symbols in the novel Earth Dance by Oka Rusmini using the semiotic study of Charles Sanders Pierce. First, the iconic shape was found by Luh Sekar as an ambitious female icon, Telaga figure as a hard female icon, and Sagra figure as a stern female icon. Second, the form of index found the suffering index of Luh Sekar figures and the unfortunate index of the fate of Telaga figures. Third, the symbol found in this study is a symbol of Balinese culture. Keywords: Icons, Indexes, Semiotics, and Symbols.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan unsur stile dalam kumpulan puisi Buku Tentang Ruang karya Avianti Armand, dilihat dari suatu kajian stilistika Burhan Nurgiyantoro. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian ini berupa kata, frasa atau kalimat yang di dalamnya menujukkan adanya bagian-bagian unsur stile seperti pemajasan yang terdiri simile, metafora, personifikasi, alegori,metonimi, sinekdoki. Penyiasatan struktur terdiri dari repetisi, paralelisme, anafora, polisindenton, asindenton, hiperbola, litotes, ironi, sarkasme, pernyataan retoris, klimaks, antiklimaks dan antitesis. Citraan terdiri dari citraan visual, citraan auditif, citraan gerak serta citraan rebaan dan penciuman dalam kumpulan puisi Buku Tentang Ruang karya Avianti Armand.Keywords: Puisi, stilistika, unsur stile

Abstract

Abstrak. Mantra adalah bagian dari kesusastraan lama yang didalamnya terdapat kata-kata atau ayat yang apabila diucapkan dapat menimbulkan kuasa gaib atau kekuatan tertentu. Mantra pada pandangan masyarakat Galesong sangat diyakini memiliki kekuatan gaib, seperti pada mantra kesaktian Boe. Mantra kesaktian Boe dalam hal ini terkhusus pada mantra salama yang merupakan salah satu mantra yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Galesong yang digunakan untuk meminta agar dilindungi dari bahaya dan diberikan keselamatan, Tujuan dari tulisan ini yaitu untuk mengungkap makna yang terkandung dalam mantra kesaktian Boe (salama). Data yang dianalisi terdiri dari 3 rangkaian data yaitu niat atau pembuka mantra, isi mantra dan juga penutup mantra. Analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan teori semiotika Riffaterre yaitu pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutik, dengan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mantra kesaktian Boe pada budaya masyarakat Galesong menggambarkan makna permohonan kepada Allah SWT agar diberikan pertolongan dan keselamatan di dunia hingga ke akhirat. Kata Kunci: Mantra, Boe, Salama, Semiotika

Abstract

Abstrak.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penanda dan petanda dalam Kisah Samariona karya Dahri Dahlan berdasarkan semiotika Ferdinan de Saussure dan mendeskripsikan implikasi Kisah Samariona karya Dahri Dahlan dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran sastra Indonesia pada Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penanda dan petanda  yang dimuat dalam cerita anak Kisah Samariona  karya Dahri Dahlan berdasarkan teori semiotika Ferdinan de Saussure terarah pada pemaknaan tanda yang mengungkapkan nilai kearifan lokal, realitas kehidupan sosial dan alam, hubungan kekeluargaan, serta persahabatan. Kemudian hasil analisis penanda dan petanda semiotika Ferdinan de Saussure pada Kisah Samariona karya Dahri Dahlan diimplikasikan sebagai alat dalam menyusun ringkasan cerita yang kemudian digunakan dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran sastra Indonesia pada Sekolah Dasar kelas IV KD 3.5  dan 4.5. Penerapan KD tersebut masuk ke dalam pembelajaran tematik terpadu dalam hal ini pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia tema 4 subtema 3 pembelajaran 1.  Kata Kunci: Semiotika, Penanda, Petanda, Pembelajaran

Abstract

Various problems are found among junior high school students in creative learning and reading poetry. One problem that will be solved is generally, junior high school students have not been able to create or write and read poetry well so that teaching and learning activities become less optimal. Students tend to be less creative in the use of diction in writing activities (copyright) and less able to read poetry. Based on observations and interviews from several teachers, generally most students seem to dislike learning to write (copyright) poetry and read poetry. This is because some students feel unable to write and read poetry. Most teachers think students are less creative in choosing words when writing poetry and lacking confidence when reading poetry. So that learning becomes less optimal. Students seem less creative, less interested, less active during the learning process. The student's imagination space is still confined and the student's inner sensitivity causes him to not succeed in finding the spirit of poetry. Through this PKM training, students are expected to have confidence in writing (copyright) and reading poetry, and students are more creative in choosing words in writing learning and more expressive when reading poetry. This PKM program aims to provide copyright training and read poetry to students of Bontonompo 2 Public Middle School in Gowa Regency. Thus, students of SMP Negeri 2 Bontonompo in Gowa Regency are able and skilled at creative activities and read poetry at school, especially in classroom learning activities. So that students are more motivated to follow the Indonesian language teaching and learning process. In general, the method used in this activity was in the form of training for students of Bontonompo Public Middle School 2 in Gowa Regency. Training activities begin with the provision of creative engineering material, read poetry. Then, followed by creative practices read poetry. Outcomes generated in science and technology transfer activities for the community through creative training activities and reading poetry for students of Gowa District 2 State Junior High School 2, including (1) Students of SMP Negeri 2 Bontonompo, Gowa Regency are able to write (copyright) and read poetry well; (2) Students of SMP Negeri 2 Bontonompo in Gowa Regency will be creative in applying some writing techniques (copyright) and reading poetry; and (3) Students of SMP Negeri 2 Bontonompo in Gowa Regency will encourage their friends to become peer tutors in writing and reading poetry.

Abstract

This research is a study of the text in the novel using an ecocritical approach with apocalyptic narrative case studies. The data in the study were processed by data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The object of this research is texts that contain apocalyptic narrative content. The apocalyptic characteristics consist of three elements, including: apocalyptic narrative, elements of heroes and elements of vision. Therefore this research is focused on three problem formulations, namely (1) How is the apocalyptic narrative contained in Tere Liye's Rain novel? (2) How is the hero element to apocalyptic narrative in Tere Liye's Rain novel (3) How is the vision of saving the environment in the novel? Rain by Tere Liye. The results of the analysis show that First, the apocalyptic element in the novel is a threat of universal extinction because the earth is uninhabitable due to extreme hot weather. This is triggered by human ethics who utilize technology with a mechanistic-reductionistic nature. Second, the hero elements in the novel are imaged by the characters of Esok and other members of the consortium who are guided by professors. Third, the element of vision found is the vision of saving humanity from extinction by creating a new habitat in the form of spacecraft as a substitute for the earth. From the results of the study of Tere Liye's novel Hujan, it was found that the three apocalyptic elements were contained coherently.

Abstract

Symbolic Code and Gnonic Code of Mappanre Lemba Ritual Mantra for Sumpang Fishermen in the Bugis Parepare Community. This study aims to determine the symbolic and gnomic code of mantras. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research data is the mantra text and the translation of the mantra text. This research uses primary and secondary data sources. Data obtained through observation; and field research. The analysis technique is the analysis of the relationship between grammatical meanings, while combinatorial meaning analysis is used to interpret connotations and rhetoric. The results showed that the ritual mantra of Mappanre Lemba fisherman Sumpang contained symbolic codes of religion, nature, and objects. This mantra contains a gnonic code on offerings in ritual ceremonies.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. With data collection techniques used are observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The technique of checking the validity of the data used is the triangulation technique. The data analysis technique used in this study is an interactive model. The results of the study show that the performance of the Partnership-Based Innovation Laboratory (Labinov Beken) has been able to improve the quality of Makassar City Government well, but still needs improvement in supporting its implementation. This is reflected in the input indicators owned by the Partnership-Based Innovation Laboratory (Labinov Beken) which have been good in terms of Human Resources, Financial, and existing regulations that have supported the implementation of this Labinov Beken. When viewed in terms of output indicators, Labinov Beken has given birth to various regional innovations, but there are still Regional Innovation Programs that have not run optimally. In terms of outcome indicators (outcomes), Labinov Beken has been able to provide service satisfaction to the community and accelerate the economy and increase development in the Makassar City Region. Besides that, from the indicators of benefits (benefits), Labinov Beken has provided benefits as a vehicle for stimulating the atmosphere for the birth of innovations that can overcome obstacles to the implementation of programs and activities. Then in terms of impact indicators (impacts), Labinov Beken has had a positive impact with the birth of various regional innovations that have the potential to advance the quality of government, but there is still a negative impact because a small number of ASN are unable to adapt to changing their work style following the development of existing innovations.
