Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: Posyandu Balita as a community-based health service holds an essential role in improving maternal and child health in Indonesia. Nevertheless, the dependency on manual documentation frequently causes delays in reporting immunization, incomplete records, and limited access for parents to monitor child growth. This study sought to design and assess an Android-based Posyandu Balita application by applying a Research and Development (R&D) model combined with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach. The development process covered several phases: needs analysis, system design, application construction, pilot implementation, and evaluation through the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The pilot, which involved 10 health cadres and 10 parents, revealed that the application reduced data loss, facilitated more accurate immunization tracking, and encouraged stronger parental involvement. Functional testing indicated that the main features—digital medical records, reminder notifications, and growth chart visualization—worked consistently as intended. Based on TAM analysis, perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) significantly shaped users’ behavioral intention to utilize the system (PU = 62%, PEOU = 58%). Moreover, the level of parental compliance in child health monitoring increased, where 85% of parents actively accessed the digital platform compared to only 40% before the trial. Overall, the results demonstrate that mobile health applications developed with user-centered approaches can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of community-based services. The Posyandu Balita application is a promising innovation to support Indonesia’s digital health transformation. Further research is required to examine large-scale implementation, integration with national health information systems, and strategies for long-term sustainability. Abstract

The problems in rice fields are complex and varied, depending on geographic location, rice variety, and growing season. Pests often cause serious economic losses. The Solar Sonic Repeller is an innovative portable pest control device designed to address pest problems by utilizing renewable energy, specifically solar energy. This product aims to offer an environmentally friendly and efficient solution. It works by emitting ultrasonic sound waves with a frequency of 30,000–40,000 Hz. The device's advantages lie in its portability and energy independence, thanks to the use of a charging module powered by an integrated photovoltaic (PV) panel with automatic battery charging during the day. The first test measured the output frequency using an oscilloscope to verify that the oscillator circuit produced waves at the specified frequency. The second test measured the device's effectiveness by examining the pest response to the device at various distances. This test was effective within a maximum radius of approximately 14 m from the center point, covering a rice field area of 250 m2.

Abstract

Mayangsari, Kalipancur Village, Ngaliyan District is an area with the potential to experience river water overflows during high rainfall. This condition causes the community to be at risk of being late in evacuating goods or saving themselves because a simple, independent, and easy-to-operate early warning system is not yet available. This community service activity aims to implement a river water level rise early detection tool based on a float switch as an early warning facility that suits the needs of the community. The implementation method includes three stages, namely 1) socialization regarding mitigation and flood risk reduction, 2) installation of an early detection tool that works mechanically using a float switch without requiring an internet network so that it is easy to operate and maintain, and 3) training on the operation and maintenance of the tool for neighborhood administrators and residents. Activity evaluation was carried out through tool function tests and observation of participants' abilities in operating and maintaining the installed system. The results of the activity show that the tool is able to activate the buzzer automatically when the water surface reaches a warning limit of about one meter according to the set settings. Based on the results of function tests on-site, the system can work according to the design and be utilized by residents as an early warning medium. In addition, the community has understood how to operate and maintain the tool so that the system can be used independently. The implementation of this tool provides an alternative early warning system that is simple, easy to maintain, and supports community preparedness in facing potential floods in the local environment.
