Abstract

The purpose of this study was to highlight the dynamics of gender construction in divorced families. This study used a  qualitative method with a case study design on eight mothers-youths from divorced families. In contrast to previous research, this study identified the role of post-divorce family interactions in the construction of gender associated with their well-being. The study’s findings show that the gender scheme developed by youth is linked to patterns of interaction in the family after the parents’ divorce. Changes in parent roles and the presence of extended families contribute to their gender construction. There is an evaluation process that builds an understanding of dynamic gender roles in the family in order to understand the reality of the post-divorce family. Fathers who re-opened communication with their children, mothers as gatekeepers in communication and parenting, and mothers’ and children’s perceptions of the extended family all contributed to the evaluation process. Youth from divorced families face challenges in seeking well-being. They still believe that an intact family is ideal and that the presence of a responsible father is considered important for young people, while the presence of an extended family causes dilemmas in family interactions.

Abstract

Abstract. Malnutrition is the most common problem in coastal areas among other areas in the city of Serang. The focus of this study is discussing the malnutrition of children under-fives in fishing families and their causes as well as the role of community assistant for families of fishermen who have children under-five with malnutrition status, where the majority of them are fishing laborers living in poverty. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Collecting data employs in-depth interviews, observation and documentation studies. The results of this research show that fishermen’s family income is low, their level of education and understanding of nutrition are low, so they are unable to meet their nutritional needs ideally. Cultural factors and local habits greatly affect their attitudes in meeting the needs of daily life, in terms of nutrition they believe that fish and eggs consumed by children under-five will adversely affect their health and skin. In addition there is still an understanding that fathers must be given the highest priority in any case, including in terms of eating compared to other family members. The findings show that they live in  dirty living environment with poor sanitation and inadequate clean water sources. Furthermore, this research study finds that the community assistants, including Social Worker, have not played their role adequately. The most striking obstacles faced are economic factors, accessibility and knowledge as well as lack of awareness from families in overcoming the problem of malnutrition in children under five in fishing families Abstrak.

The literature review shows that previous research discusses several things including ideas, the historical context of feminism globally and in Indonesia, and gender inequality in various fields of life. Abstract

This study examines implementation of the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) as an effort to increase the bargaining position of small farmers in Cianjur Regency, West Java. The study adopts George Edwards III's policy implementation model, which says policy implementation is influenced by four factors, namely communication, resources, the propensity of implementing policies and organizational structure. Among many SRG warehouses in Indonesia, the warehouse in Cianjur Regency, in particular, is the best-performingone, therefore the research in this location is expected to give significant overview of its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interview to eight respondents and field observation. The study shows that stakeholders have implemented the provisions included in this model of four factors. However, there are some aspects that need more attention because SRG has a great potential given that agriculture is the main livehood in Cianjur Regency.SRG has indirect impact to farmers’ welfare, and its implementation reflects the social development approach, the one that connects and integrates economic and social policies. This policy implementation provides opportunities for farmers to get better offers for their agricultural production. By participating in the SRG system, farmers can postpone selling and have the opportunity to get better prices as well as to improve the quality of their commodities, which in turn has an impact on increasing their income as well as social welfare.

Abstract

This study describes and analyzes the implementation of policies for preventing and handling child marriage in Palu City, specifically regulated in Mayor Regulation Number 34 of 2023. It also identifies supporting and inhibiting factors. The policy aims to improve the Quality of Families, especially in the Quality of Legal Structures dimension, given that Central Sulawesi Province’s Family Quality Index score is 71.80, categorized as only "quite responsive" to gender and children’s rights. The research, using a descriptive qualitative approach, was conducted at the Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Office (DP3A), the Office of Religious Affairs, and the Palu City Religious Court. The analysis follows Edward III’s model with four variables: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Findings show the policy’s implementation is suboptimal. Communication suffers from ambiguous legal criteria, dual institutional authority, and poor socialization to the broader community. Resource limitations include insufficient quality and number of implementers, inadequate facilities and data, and no dedicated budget. Disposition is affected by conflicting cultural values, with communities prioritizing marriage to avoid shame over legal minimum age limits. The bureaucratic structure reveals that policies in the form of mayoral regulations without legislative backing result in low budget prioritization. Supporting factors include strong legal legitimacy and NGO backing. Main inhibiting factors are the lack of an integrated Standard Operating Procedure (POS) across sectors and regulatory gaps in managing marriage dispensation in Religious Courts.
