Abstract

This study aims to apply the water balance simulation model developed by Handoko (1992) for estimating the deficit and surp4lus water for the development of corn plants in the province of Gorontalo. This study was implemented from April to August 2014 in the District of Gorontalo. The study metods included field studies and modeling of water balance using a simulation model by Handoko (1992). The results showed that the period of water deficit was found in August and September where rainfall (Ch) is smaller than potential evapotranspiration (ETP) whereas periods of surplus water in the district of Gorontalo found in January to July and October to December where rainfall (Ch) exceeds potential evepotranspiration (ETP).

Abstract

This study aimed to develop land use scenarios in District Mapanget using Agroecology Zone-based Geographic Information System (GIS). The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data were collected through surveys and direct observations in the field. The activities carried out field surveys to obtain state information field through taking pictures with a digital camera. Analysis of social data and data on potential farming is also done through the compilation of data to map the District Mapanget. Furthermore biophysical data agro-ecological, social and agricultural potential of the data compiled in a database system was using Quantum GIS program version 1.8. This study found that the use of agricultural land to non-agricultural land in the district Mapanget very difficult to avoid due to the low value of land from the agricultural sector compared to other sectors. So based on the evaluation conducted by comparing the map with a map of the existing condition of the District RTRW 2014-2034 Mapanget then it changes the function of which is no longer appropriate region where the agricultural area have been converted into non-agricultural. In order for this condition continues to be bad for the environment and agriculture will require efforts in the management and development in the District Mapanget, among others, the development of urban agriculture, every development in Sub Mapanget should always refer to the scenario Land use and Spatial plan of the District Mapanget that there are both carried out by the government, private or public. Urban agriculture has an important role for urban communities that suggested the need for land use scenarios in District Mapanget. Based on agroecological zone map and a map of the District RTRW 2014-2034 Mapanget then be collated Mapanget the District land use scenarios are divided by 3 (three) scenarios that city Scenario, Scenario frame the city, urban-rural scenario. The existence of land / space urban agriculture plays an important role in agricultural production systems and maintain the quality of the environment, because it is a major determinant spacious RTH (green open space) and the results of urban agriculture. In addition, urban farming provides employment and a source of additional revenue as well as environmentally sustainable society.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of land cover types to micro-climate of and analyze the effect microclimate to the trees and open land towards amenities environment for human. The City of Bitung has selected as a research site because it planned for mega projects. They are Special Economic Zones (KEK), International Relations Ports and Manado-Bitung Highways. The research used primary and secondary data. The parameters measured for each land cover includes the elements of microclimate namely: Air Temperature, Humidity and Solar Radiation. Data analysis using techniques T test, F test and Analysis of amenities based on the data of air temperature and humidity, it can be calculated by Temperature Humadity Index (THI). The measurement results microclimate taken at four different land cover that is at the city park, Central Business District (CBD), housing and industry. The results of this study prove the hypothesis that there are differences in the average value of the temperature and humidity in the trees, open land. Tree vegetation structures more effectively reduce the air temperature. The structure of the vegetation canopy of trees that have rounded and more densely branched patterns, height being between 6-10 m and serves to overshadow proved more effective in improving amenities in the surrounding area. Based on the value of THI, all land cover both parks, CBD, residential and industrial categorized uncomfortable because the average is at a value> 27. Housing area has very little green space. One of the efforts to improve the quality of the microclimate in order to enhance the user experience is to provide a good environment garden by planting vegetation predominant tree combined with shrubs and grasses to balance and harmonize between buildings and the environment also have aesthetic value. In the industrial area, the high levels of air pollution resulting from the production process so that recommended a good landscape arrangement, by expanding area of town forest and planting vegetation of trees that can absorb large numbers of pollutants result in healthy and fresh air for the region.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the water balance in Sangkub Sub-district, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency for oil palm cultivation with water balance simulation model developed by Handoko (1994) and Rogi (2002). The study was conducted from May - December 2016. This research uses simulation model method; the data used in this research is secondary data. The data analysis used run model of water balance of land and formula calculation of land water balance. The study found that the amount of water surplus from the run of the water balance model and calculations based on the formula in one year cannot meet the water requirements of oil palm crops, so that oil palm plantations cannot be cultivated in Sangkub Sub-district. This is due to the existence of rice cultivated crops prior to oil palm cultivation, where both plants require relatively large amount of water.

Abstract

Drones are a solution for getting data efficiently and effectively. The drone is also equipped with a flight control system through waves, ground positioning system (GPS) precision navigation, and flight control electronics so that it can fly according to the autopilot flight plan. The purpose of this study was to measure the sharpness of the Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) at various heights of paddy fields using the MAVIC 2 PRO TYPE Drone in Matani Village, Tumpaan District. The results of the research on measuring the acuity of the Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) in paddy fields using the MAVIC 2 PRO TYPE Drone in Matani Village, Tumpaan District show that flying altitude affects GSD results where the higher the drone altitude, the greater the GSD value and the lower the altitude. fly, the clearer the photos obtained. It is better to measure the sharpness of the Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) in the afternoon above 9 am because the sun's lighting affects the quality of the photo at a height of 200 meters so that the photo is clear.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of auxin type and concentration on the growth and development of orchid plants. The research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University Manado, and was carried out over 2 months from July to August 2023. This study used a factorial experiment in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 replications consisting of two factors. The first factor is the type of auxin: IAA (A1), NAA (A2), and IBA (A3), and the second factor is the concentration of each auxin: 1 ml/l (K1), 2 ml/l (K2), and 3 ml/l (K3). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance, and if the results were significant, a 5% Least Significant Difference (LSD) test was conducted. The results showed that there was an interaction between the type and concentration of auxin on variables such as the number of roots, root length, root emergence time, number of leaves, number of shoots, and shoot height. Similarly, there was an effect of auxin concentration on each type of auxin, but there was a significant effect of individual auxin types (IAA, NAA, and IBA) on the root formation of Dendrobium mirbelianum orchids, affecting variables such as the number of roots, root length, root emergence time, number of leaves, number of shoots, and shoot height.
