Abstract

Abstract: Modern scholars know the clash of two conflicting currents of thought, between the extreme right (tafrith) and the extreme left (ifrath) currents. This is very dangerous for Islamic civilization. Therefore, wasathiy (moderate) Islamic scholars, such as Muhammad Imarah (1931-2020) seek to direct Muslims to understand and implement the teachings of wasathoy Islam. This article discusses Muhammad Imarah's thoughts on the fiqh of moderation. This research is literature and qualitative. Data collection is carried out through a literature review and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study concluded that about moderation fiqh, Muhammad Imarah argued that moderate ijtihad needs to be developed for now. Muhammad Imarah stated that the relationship between text and ijtihad is always side by side (al-talazum wa al musahabah daiman wa abadan), there is a text, there is ijtihad and ijtihad departs from the text, and ijtihad is to peel the meaning contained in a text to decide the fiqh law of the text. The fiqh verdict is subjective because it takes the form of conjecture (al-dhan).

Abstract

Abstract: Menstruation is one of the crucial aspects in the study of women's jurisprudence that has legal implications for worship and marital relations. One of the prohibitions regulated in Islam is sexual intercourse during menstruation, which is explicitly explained in the Qur'an and hadith. This study aims to examine the prohibition from the perspective of medicine, fiqh, and maqāṣid al-sharī'ah. This research is a normative juridical study employing a literature review approach to classical Islamic references and contemporary scientific findings. This article finds that the ban on sexual intercourse during menstruation is not only based on sharia as a form of worship and prudence, but also has a strong medical basis. Medically, sexual intercourse during menstruation can pose various health risks, such as reproductive tract infections, fertility disorders, and an increased risk of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. In fiqh, the prohibition is based on the Qur'an, hadith, and ijma'. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah, sexual intercourse during menstruation is contrary to the five principles of benefit. These findings demonstrate that Islamic teachings align with modern health principles, while also underscoring the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in comprehensively understanding Islamic law. Keywords:  fiqh, menstruation, intercourse, health, maqāṣid al-sharī'ah.

Abstract

Environmental degradation is a global challenge that demands responses from various perspectives, including Islamic law. This article examines the construction of ecological jurisprudence according to Yusuf al-Qardhawi, a contemporary Islamic thinker who combines sharia principles with the urgency of environmental conservation. Through the approach of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah, al-Qardhawi places the preservation of the environment (ḥifẓ al-bī'ah) as a fundamental condition for the realization of the five main objectives of the Shari'ah: to protect religion, soul, intellect, descent, and property. This study uses a qualitative method with a normative and conceptual approach based on literature study. The results of the study show that al-Qardhawi offers a fiqh model that is not only normative, but also solutive and applicative, by emphasizing the importance of ecological responsibility as part of the mandate of the human caliphate. He also emphasized the urgency of the state's role in sanctioning environmental destruction through the ta'zīr mechanism. This thinking paves the way for fiqh renewal in responding to environmental issues more contextually and sustainably.

Abstract

Purpose:  Serious game has been widely considered to be a potential learning tool, due to its main advantage to provide a fun experience in learning. The experience is supported mainly by in-game activities, where feedback is given in the form of rewards. However, rewards often don't work well due to various factors, for example, rewards are always the same, so they are monotonous. We use Appreciative Learning as underlying concept for activity design and fuzzy logic to create the reward behavior, called Fuzzy Smart Reward. Methods: We use Appreciative Learning as underlying concept for activity design and fuzzy logic to create the reward behavior. Appreciative Learning activities consists of Discovery, Dream, Design and Destiny. We propose fuzzy-based smart reward for those activities. The smart reward takes player achievement in each activity as input for the fuzzy inference system and give the dynamic reward as output.Result: A game prototype is developed as a test subject. The result shows that the smart reward could dynamically adjust the reward based on game conditions and player performance. Test conducted using Game Experience Questionnaire get the score 3.3 out of 4.Novelty:  There aren't many studies on dynamic rewards in structured reward systems; the majority of studies remove dynamic rewards from reward systems. In our research, a "smart reward" is a dynamic reward in a structured reward system that is created using artificial intelligence and is based on activities for appreciative learning. The use of Fuzzy Logic for structured reward behavior is also very rare.

Abstract

This article examines how the values of modern boarding schools are integrated into the curriculum of Kulliyyatu-l-Mu'allimāt al-Islāmiyah (KMI) at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri, as well as how these strategies shape the character of students. Values such as sincerity, simplicity, independence, Islamic ukhuwah, and freedom serve as the foundation of education, integrated into the formal learning process and the life of a 24-hour Islamic boarding school. This study uses a descriptive, qualitative approach grounded in the literature and data validation through source triangulation. The results of the study show that the KMI curriculum is an integrated curriculum that combines religious and general lessons in proportion and is implemented through active learning strategies, direct instruction, strict supervision, and character development through teacher examples. Thus, the integration of modern boarding school values is not only part of the academic structure but also transforms into a character-education system that shapes students into tough, intelligent, and noble individuals.
