Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through the application of the POE (predict-observe-explain) learning model. The study was conducted in two cycles with a total of six meetings. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were the 8th-grade students of Miftahul Khair Islamic Junior High School, Central Lombok. The data collected were students' critical thinking skills and the activity of the POE (predict-observe-explain) learning model implementation namely teacher activities and student activities. The instruments used were critical thinking test instruments and observation sheets for the implementation of the POE learning model (predict-observe-explain). The research data were analyzed by comparative descriptive. The results showed that the application of the POE (predict-observe-explain) learning model could improve students' critical thinking skills, as evidenced by the average student's critical thinking skills which increased from an average score of 41 in the moderate.

Abstract

The Among System Education in the “Tasrih Wasiat Renungan Masa” by Maulana Shaykh TGKH. Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Majid Abstract This study aims to describe education with the Among System from the perspective of the Wasiat Renuangan Masa. This study is a qualitative descriptive study through a literature review, with the primary source being Maulana Shaykh's book "Wasiat Renungan Masa." The data analysis technique was carried out in stages: reading, taking notes, studying, collecting concepts, and then elaborating. The result of this study is that the Among system of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception contains educational values ??that are full of compassion and 'forbid' violence, relevant to the perspective of the will of reflection during Maulana Shaykh's conception as the meaning contained in the 14th stanza that true educators have (1) wise and wise characters, (2) educate with love, (3) sincerity, (4) selflessness, and (5) will not forget his students. The meaning of the 104th stanza is that every congregation/santri does not only study religious knowledge but has the right (free) to attend general education according to his interests and talents; the meaning of the third verse is that educators are aware of the natural differences of students and respond wisely without anyone feeling hurt.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a science and natural sciences (IPAS) teaching module based on differentiated learning on the topic "How is the shape of my Indonesia" that is valid and practical to use in learning activities. This research is a research and development (R&D) with a 4D development model. The study was conducted in class V SDN 1 Terong Tawah with 27 students. Data were collected using an expert validation sheet instrument and a teacher response questionnaire. Based on the results of the validity test, the validity score of the teaching module was in the very valid category. Meanwhile, the results of the practicality test obtained a practicality score of the teaching module in the very practical category. The results of this study indicate that the science and natural sciences teaching module based on differentiated learning has a very high level of validity and practicality, so that it is worthy of being used as an effective and reliable learning tool in supporting the learning process. These findings indicate that the results of the development of the science and natural sciences teaching module based on differentiated learning are useful for improving the quality of learning and can be a reference for the development of innovative teaching tools.

Abstract

Preservice science teachers frequently struggle to design coherent lesson plans that align learning objectives, teaching methods, and assessment with current policy demands such as Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka and the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework. This study aimed to develop, validate, and conduct a limited trial of performance-based teaching materials for a Science Instructional Design course, consisting of student worksheets and a textbook structured with the Kemp instructional design model. A design and development approach was employed, followed by a small-scale field implementation with one cohort in a science education program at an Islamic university. Data were collected through expert validation sheets addressing format, language, and content; a readability test with six students of high, medium, and low achievement; a performance rubric for lesson planning (competency analysis, indicator development, lesson plan construction, method selection); and student questionnaires on interest and motivation. Data were analyzed descriptively. The materials were rated valid to highly valid by experts, with high inter-rater agreement. Readability indices indicated that the textbook was easy to understand, with an average difficulty of about 5.5 percent. Most students achieved good to excellent ratings on competency analysis, indicator development, and lesson plan structure, while performance in method selection remained relatively weak. Student responses showed good interest and very good motivation, particularly in confidence to prepare lesson plans. Given the single-group, single-institution design and absence of a comparison group, the findings indicate feasibility and promise rather than demonstrated effectiveness in improving lesson-planning competence.
