Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai penerapan fitur Q&A untuk meningkatkan interaktivitas users dengan pengelola. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan penerapan fitur Q&A dengan merancang visual antarmuka dan konten prototype fitur Q&A sebagai bentuk pengembangan Aplikasi Candil yang dikelola oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Action Research dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, penyebaran angket pengujian prototype, dan studi dokumentasi. Melalui serangkaian tahapan Action Research (diagnosing, action planning, action taking, evaluation, dan reflection), penelitian ini menghasilkan rancangan fitur Q&A pada Aplikasi Candil. Hasil pengujian prototype menunjukkan bahwa rancangan visual antarmuka fitur Q&A sudah baik. Rancangan visual antarmuka fitur Q&A yang dihasilkan meliputi: tata letak, warna dan betuk dari tombol serta desain visual berupa ukuran, bentuk, tipe font dan warna latar. Selain itu, rancangan konten prototype fitur Q&A juga sudah dianggap baik. Rancangan konten fitur Q&A yang dihasilkan meliputi layanan sirkulasi dan layanan referensi yang sudah memenuhi kebutuhan kualitas informasi yang sudah relevan, akurat,dan lengkap.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang terpaan informasi kanal youtube “Gadgetin” dengan pengetahuan informasi teknologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adakah hubungan antara frekuensi, durasi, serta atensi penyampaian informasi dari kanal youtube “Gadgetin” dengan pengetahuan informasi teknologi viewers dalam memilih gawai smartphone. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yakni metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analisis korelasi. Teori yang mendasari pada penelitian ini yakni teori terpaan informasi. Lalu teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara menyebarkan angket dan studi kepustakaan. Penyebaran angket dilakukan secara daring melalui google form. Adapun populasi dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran yang telah memenuhi ketentuan kriteria penelitian, yang mana diketahui populasi yang telah memenuhi kriteria berjumlah 122 orang dan yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini diambil sebagai sampel sebanyak 55 orang. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tidak ada hubungan signifikan antara terpaan informasi dari kanal YouTube "Gadgetin" dan pengetahuan viewers dalam memilih smartphone. Baik frekuensi maupun durasi terpaan informasi tidak menunjukkan korelasi yang kuat dengan tingkat pengetahuan viewers. Namun, terdapat hubungan yang lemah antara atensi terpaan informasi youtube channel “Gadgetin” dengan pengetahuan viewers dalam memilih gawai smartphone.

Abstract

Academic libraries often face the challenge of visual inconsistency on social media due to the lack of a standardized design system, which can weaken brand identity and communication effectiveness. This study aims to design, implement, and evaluate an integrated visual system to address this issue. The method used was Action Research, conducted in two cycles, adopting the Kemmis and McTaggart model. Data collection was carried out comprehensively through interviews with managers, observations, and questionnaires distributed to the audience (n=12). The study resulted in an integrated visual system consisting of a visual guideline (SOP) and a series of design templates in Canva, which was proven to significantly improve the team's workflow efficiency. Audience validation showed a very positive response, with all respondents (100%) stating that the new design was easy to understand, aligned with the brand identity, and visually consistent across all tested indicators. In conclusion, this study contributes by producing a practical and proven sustainable integrated visual system model. This model explicitly offers operational solutions for non-designer teams in library environments, an applicable approach that distinguishes it from previous research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Fotostation application in supporting the digital photo management process within the photo division of Harian Kompas. In the context of modern journalism, managing large volumes of visual content requires a structured, fast, and accurate system. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation and in-depth interviews with key personnel involved in the daily workflow of photo management. The findings show that Fotostation serves as the central tool for receiving, organizing, and archiving journalistic photos. The system enables real-time integration of visual assets, supports metadata indexing, and ensures that photo classification aligns with editorial standards. It also facilitates efficient long-term archiving and retrieval through its Archive and Inhouse features, allowing users to track usage and avoid redundancy in publication. Furthermore, the system plays a crucial role in protecting copyright by requiring proper attribution and ensuring that only verified content is used. While Fotostation significantly increases the speed and accuracy of editorial photo processing, the system still faces technical challenges, especially regarding performance under high-volume data loads. Nonetheless, the application has proven to enhance the overall effectiveness of the photo division’s workflow, making the management of digital photo assets more reliable, structured, and professionally accountable

Abstract

This research explores the dynamics of public communication adopted by the Surabaya City Government in an effort to tackle the practice of online prostitution. The focus lies on a communication strategy that involves social media and star hotels as the main means. The case study approach in this research explores the city government's efforts to manage information, coordinate efforts with relevant stakeholders, and adapt messages to respond to complex challenges related to online prostitution. This research methodology includes interviews with city government representatives, social media content analysis, and related policy tracking. The research results illustrate the city government's efforts in creating effective and responsive communication strategies. Utilizing the power of social media to convey information, build public awareness, and gather cooperation from various star hotels to increase understanding and participation in dealing with online prostitution. However, challenges such as changes in behavioral patterns of online prostitution perpetrators and the evolution of social media are factors that influence the success of this public communication strategy. This study provides in-depth insight into the dynamics of public communication as the main strategy in dealing with sensitive issues such as online prostitution in the digital era. The implications of these findings can provide guidance for other city governments in designing similar communication strategies to solve similar problems.

Abstract

The meaning and experiences of Purple Lovers Community members in articulating the color purple In Indonesia, the phenomenon of fans or fanatics of the color purple can be seen from the loyalty or activities of a person or group that always involves the color purple in their daily activities. Various forms of daily activities of purple lovers can be found through the way they dress, decorate their rooms, and personal items they own. This study aims to see the meaning and experience of members of the purple lover’s community in articulating the color purple. The study used a qualitative method that focused on the tradition of phenomenological research. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the color purple for community members is not just a color but a symbol of identity and a glue that unites each individual with different backgrounds but who have the same love and appreciation for the aesthetics and meaning of the color. The meaning of the color purple in this community is formed and strengthened through social interaction between members. The interaction that exists between community members towards the color purple creates a different meaning and experience for each member of the community. Communication and events experienced by members of the Purple Lovers Community with their environment form a transactional communication experience. Di Indonesia, fenomena penggemar atau fanatik terhadap warna ungu dapat terlihat dari kesetiaan maupun aktivitas seseorang atau kelompok yang selalu melibatkan warna ungu dalam setiap kegiatan hariannya. Berbagai bentuk kegiatan sehari-sehari penyuka warna ungu ini dapat dijumpai lewat cara berpakaian, dekorasi ruangan maupun barang-barang pribadi yang mereka miliki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat makna dan pengalaman anggota purple lovers community dalam mengartikulasikan warna ungu. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif yang berfokus pada tradisi penelitian fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan warna ungu bagi anggota komunitas bukan hanya sekedar warna, melainkan simbol identitas dan perekat yang menyatukan tiap individu dengan latar belakang yang berbeda namun memiliki kesamaan cinta dan apresiasi terhadap estetika dan makna warna tersebut. Makna warna ungu pada komunitas ini terbentuk dan diperkuat melalui interaksi sosial antaranggota. Interaksi yang terjalin antar anggota komunitas terhadap warna ungu menciptakan masing-masing makna dan pengalaman yang berbeda bagi setiap anggota komunitas. Komunikasi dan peristiwa yang dialami anggota komunitas Purple Lovers Community dengan lingkunganya membentuk sebuah pengalaman komunikasi yang sifatnya transaksional.

Abstract

Librarians’ communication for fostering comfort and trust in the Al Binaa Islamic Junior High School library This study aims to examine the role of interpersonal communication by librarians in improving library accreditation at SMP IT Al Binaa, Bekasi Regency. The research focuses on identifying the factors influencing the effectiveness of communication between librarians and library stakeholders, including students, teachers, and school staff, in enhancing the library’s overall performance and accreditation status. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results highlight that effective interpersonal communication, characterized by trust, clarity, and empathy, significantly improves library services, fosters collaboration, and supports accreditation processes. Additionally, the study found that librarians' ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and address their needs plays a critical role in the library’s success in meeting accreditation standards. This research provides valuable insights for educational institutions seeking to enhance library services and accreditation through effective communication strategies. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeriksa peran komunikasi interpersonal oleh pustakawan dalam meningkatkan akreditasi perpustakaan di SMP IT Al Binaa, Kabupaten Bekasi. Penelitian ini berfokus pada identifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas komunikasi antara pustakawan dan pemangku kepentingan perpustakaan, termasuk siswa, guru, dan staf sekolah, dalam meningkatkan kinerja keseluruhan perpustakaan dan status akreditasi. Menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, pengamatan, dan analisis dokumen. Hasilnya menyoroti bahwa komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif, ditandai dengan kepercayaan, kejelasan, dan empati, secara signifikan berkontribusi untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan, mendorong kolaborasi, dan mendukung proses akreditasi. Selain itu, penelitian menemukan bahwa kemampuan pustakawan untuk terlibat dengan beragam pemangku kepentingan dan memenuhi kebutuhan mereka memainkan peran penting dalam keberhasilan perpustakaan dalam memenuhi standar akreditasi. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi institusi pendidikan yang ingin meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan dan akreditasi melalui strategi komunikasi yang efektif.

Abstract

The use of digital library applications is an easy way for users to get information. This study aims to-provide an overview of the user's perspective on the Candil application as a support for Dipusipda library services. In addition, this study aims to determine the accessibility and usability of the Candil application from the perspective and experience of users when using the Candil application. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Observation, interviews, and literature studies carried out data collection techniques. Observations are made by conducting research on Candil application features. Then there were ten informants who were interviewed who were active users of the Candil application through accidental sampling. This research results that the accessibility aspect of the Candil application fulfills information accessibility so that users can find information on the Candil application through the availability of easy and fast collections. Then the Candil application also fulfills the five existing usability aspects: Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Error, and Satisfaction.
