Abstract

Makrozoobentos merupakan kelompok hewan yang hidup dasar perairan dan sering ditemukan hidup berasosiasi dengan organisme lain. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis makrozoobentos yang hidup berasosiasi dengan ekosistem lamun di perairan Pantai Natal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dimana stasiun pengamatan ditentukan berdasarkan informasi dari nelayan setempat terkait keberadaan ekosistem lamun.  Data yang dianalisis adalah Indeks keanekaragaman (H’), Indeks Dominansi (C), dan Indeks Similaritas (IS). Keseluruhan analisis data menggunakan bantuan perangkat lunak komputer Plymouth Routines software in Multivariate Research Version 7. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 25 spesies yang terbagi menjadi 6 Klas yang hidup berasosiasi dengan ekosistem lamun di perairan Natal. Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) berada dalam kategori keanekaragaman sedang dengan nilai 2,89-2,98, sementara itu Indeks Dominansi berada pada kategori rendah dengan nilai 0,003-0,005. Selanjutnya diperoleh tingkat kesamaan (similaritas) terhadap spesies penyusun komunitas makrozoobentos dengan tingkat kesamaan tinggi (IS 93,62-100%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran outdoor berbasis PAIKEM terhadap pemahaman konsep ekosistem siswa kelas VII di SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah 35 Sigambal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII sebanyak 122 siswa, dengan sampel 60 siswa yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen (30 siswa) dan kelas kontrol (30 siswa). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji normalitas Shapiro- Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene's Test, dan uji t independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep ekosistem yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dengan rata-rata nilai post-test 79,67 (meningkat 33,34 poin dari pre-test 46,33), sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya meningkat 19,66 poin; (2) Uji t menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok (t = 11,283; p < 0,05); (3) Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran outdoor berbasis PAIKEM sangat positif dengan 85% siswa menyatakan lebih termotivasi.Temuan ini mendukung teori konstruktivisme dan penelitian sebelumnya yang menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman langsung efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan pembelajaran outdoor berbasis PAIKEM untuk pengajaran konsep ekosistem di sekolah.

Abstract

This research discusses the design of the E-Encyclopedia of the Order of Odonata as teaching material for junior high school students. This research aims to introduce how to design an E-encyclopedia of the Order of Odonata from Sumatra which can be used as teaching material for junior high school students, especially children aged (13-15 years) in the Sumatra region. The urgency is that junior high school children become familiar with the various types of the Odonata Order from Sumatra so that the identity of the Odonata Order is maintained and maintained. This research is design research consisting of three phases, namely Preliminary research, Prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The design of the E-Encyclopedia of the Odonata Order from Sumatra is an effort to develop media in studying various types of the Odonata Order from Sumatra whose development is viewed from language, material, and media. Through the development activities carried out, an E-Encyclopedia Product of the Order of Odonata from Sumatra was obtained as suitable teaching material.

Abstract

Studies on contemporary scientific education have shown that classroom teaching has an impact on students' use of literacy-deficient practical exercises. Consequently, the existing approach of teaching science is significantly deficient and must be substituted. The objective of this descriptive qualitative research is to assess the effectiveness of the Science Literacy-Based Practicum Method in Science Instruction for seventh grade students at SMP Swasta Bhayangkari 3. The sample for this study consisted of thirty seventh graders from SMP Swasta Bhayangkari. Both teachers and students were provided with a questionnaire to complete, and data was gathered via interviews based on their responses. The results indicate that 19.94% of students demonstrate a strong understanding of scientifically explaining phenomena. Additionally, 8.60% of students are able to evaluate and design scientific investigations, while 9.28% of students understand how to interpret data and evidence. According to the findings of this research, integrating a practicum focused on literacy into the learning process is an effective method for promoting student performance and attaining learning goals.

Abstract

Wild betta fish has high economic value as one of the ornamental fish commodities in Indonesia.  The potential for cultivation development so far has not been maximized so that it still relies on the results of capture from nature. The main key to the development of wild fish farming is actually dependent on food conversion and water quality. Water quality management must adjust to its habitat in nature, however, the study of the physical chemical parameters of wild betta fish waters endemic to Sumatra has not been widely reported. Studies related to habitat characteristics can be used as the basis for aquaculture management in the future. This study aims to analyze the condition of the physical parameters of aquatic chemistry in the natural habitat of wild betta fish in the Regency Labuhanbatu Selatan, Labuhanbatu, and Labuhanbatu Utara. This research is exlorative by observing physical and chemical factors carried out insitu and exitu. The research data is analyzed quantitatively, presented discriptively and discussed based on relevant literature. The results of the main component analysis (Principal Component Analysis) show the main characteristic parameters of wild betta fish habitat in the form of: BOD, COD, DO, conductivity, temperature, and pH. Based on the results of UPGMA analysis, the percentage of similarity of stations 1 and 2 (90.5%) while station 3 (83.6%). It was concluded that the key parameters for wild betta fish farming activities are BOD, COD, DO, conductivity, temperature, and pH and these parameters need to be measured continuously.

Abstract

Sustainable food security and environmental literacy require contextual and practice-based learning approaches in high school education. This community engagement program introduced a school-based aquaponic learning intervention designed to enhance students’ ecological reasoning and sustainability awareness. The activity was carried out in August 2025 at Islamic High School of MA Swasta Irsyadul Islamiah, Tanjung Medan District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, involving 32 students. The intervention combined structured conceptual sessions, guided technical demonstrations, supervised system construction, and reflective evaluation. Learning outcomes were assessed using pre- and post-intervention instruments complemented by observational documentation. Quantitative analysis indicated a marked improvement in students’ academic performance, with average scores increasing from 58.4 (SD = 12.5) prior to the intervention to 82.7 (SD = 8.9) afterward. Statistical testing using a paired-samples t-test confirmed that this gain was significant (t(31) = 8.76, p < 0.001). Field observations further revealed strengthened collaborative participation and heightened interest in environmentally responsible practices. In addition to cognitive gains, the program produced a permanent instructional facility in the form of an operational aquaponic unit that supports continued experiential learning. The findings provide empirical support for integrating recirculating cultivation systems into biology instruction as a strategy for advancing ecological literacy and applied scientific skills. This initiative offers a transferable framework for schools seeking context-responsive, resource-efficient models to reinforce sustainability-oriented education
