Abstract

This study focused on the design, development, and evaluation of a Special Service Tool (SST) created explicitly for maintaining kingpin components in Hino Series 300 trucks. The research focused on the challenges and safety issues encountered by technicians stemming from the lack of specialized tools for kingpin removal. This often led to extended service times, variable repair quality, and a heightened risk of damaging components. To address these challenges, the research employed the ADDIE development model, which comprises five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In the design phase, 3D modeling was performed using SolidWorks, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was conducted to verify the tool's structural integrity under various load scenarios, reaching up to 19,613 N. The SST was made from ASTM A36 steel, recognized for its mechanical strength and ease of manufacturing. The simulation results demonstrated that the structure stayed within safe limits for both stress and deformation, achieving a minimum safety factor of 1.1. The implementation took place at PT. MPM Hino Yogyakarta, where field testing showed a significant enhancement in technician efficiency. The SST cut down kingpin maintenance time from 360 minutes to only 42.08 minutes, achieving an impressive 88.3% reduction in time spent. Testing for effectiveness, based on feedback from technicians and supervisors, revealed a high level of user satisfaction, particularly in terms of safety, usability, and ergonomic design. The SST tracker kingpin provides a dependable, effective, and secure option for maintaining commercial vehicles. The successful application of it at a Hino service center highlights its practical benefits and the potential for wider implementation throughout the automotive maintenance sector. Additional improvements could involve ergonomic adjustments and the ability to accommodate various truck models, thereby facilitating broader use.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja; 2) Hambatan dan upaya dalam implementasi keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan subyek penelitian siswa kelas 11 dan guru pengajar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data statistik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja sudah dilaksanakan dalam kondisi baik dengan dinilai dalam 5 sub-variabel yaitu: Perilaku di tempat kerja, Penggunaan APD, Kondisi Lingkungan Kerja, Penggunaan Peralatan dengan benar dan Budaya Kerja 5R yang semuanya masuk kedalam kategori baik. 2) Hambatan yang dihadapi dalam penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja yaitu masih ada siswa yang kurang sadar pentingnya K3 serta jumlah penyediaan APD yang masih kurang mencukupi. 3) Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan dalam penerapan K3 di bengkel Teknik Kendaraan Ringan SMK N 1 Sedayu yaitu dengan membuat sebuah organisasi khusus untuk K3 yang nanti di dalam nya terdapat program yang jelas untuk meningkatkan kesadaran K3 dalam melakukan semua kegiatan dan penerapan K3 dapat di pantau dan terkoordinir dengan jelas.

Abstract

Excessive learning materials can hinder the teaching and learning process by overwhelming students, reducing motivation, and impairing knowledge retention. In vocational education, irrelevant content may further contribute to graduates' lack of industry-aligned competencies, limiting their employability. This study aims to identify essential learning materials for the automotive panel and body frame course based on urgency, continuity, relevance, and industry application. A modified Delphi technique was used to gather expert consensus through a survey involving 21 automotive body and frame repair professionals from the automotive manufacturing and repair industry in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The questionnaire, developed based on the automotive engineering curriculum, utilized a four-point Likert scale. Data collection was conducted via Google Forms and analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS software. Industry experts identified key learning materials essential for vocational students, including MIG-GMAW welding procedures, repairing damaged panels made of iron, aluminum, plastic, or fiberglass, applying putty, and assessing panel surface quality after putty application. These materials were deemed critical for aligning vocational training with industry requirements. The findings emphasize the importance of refining learning content to enhance student competency and employability. By prioritizing industry-relevant skills, vocational educators can improve instructional effectiveness and better prepare graduates for the workforce. This study provides valuable insights for curriculum developers to ensure that training programs meet industry standards, ultimately enhancing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) Designing a brake bleeding tool that will be used for the process of bleeding car brakes at the UMC Suzuki Ahmad Yani Surabaya workshop, (2) Knowing the effectiveness of the brake bleeding tool when used at the UMC Suzuki Ahmad Yani Surabaya workshop, (3) Finding out work efficiency after work is carried out using the brake bleeding tool at the UMC Suzuki Ahmad Yani Surabaya workshop. The design of the car brake bleeding tool was developed through analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, resulting in a specialized tool that enhances the mechanic's work at the PT UMC Suzuki Ahmad Yani Surabaya workshop. This tool helps mechanics bleed car brakes, which previously required conventional tools and at least 2-3 additional mechanics. With the developed brake bleeding tool, mechanics only need to work with one person. This tool can also reduce the time required for brake bleeding, which is usually 17 minutes, to just 9 minutes. The development of a brake bleeding tool proved very effective in expediting brake bleeding maintenance at the UMC Suzuki Ahmad Yani Surabaya workshop. With this tool, manual bleeding tools are no longer required, making work more effective without additional labor. This tool produces a time efficiency of 55%. This tool makes the brake bleeding process more accurate and reliable, providing consistent quality assurance and, overall, increasing the productivity and effectiveness of workshop operations.

Abstract

Masalah pengelolaan sampah menjadi tantangan besar di Indonesia, khususnya dalam pengelolaan sampah plastik yang terus meningkat. Sampah plastik seperti botol, galon, dan label plastik membutuhkan ruang penyimpanan besar serta sulit ditangani tanpa teknologi yang efisien. Salah satu solusi inovatif adalah penggunaan mesin hidrolik pengepres sampah mobile, yang dirancang untuk memadatkan sampah terpilah secara signifikan, sehingga mengurangi volume dan beratnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja mesin hidrolik pengepres sampah mobile dalam memadatkan tiga jenis sampah plastik, yaitu botol plastik, galon plastik, dan label plastik, dengan parameter yang diukur meliputi pengurangan volume dan berat sampah. Metode penelitian melibatkan uji coba mesin terhadap ketiga jenis sampah tersebut dalam tiga siklus pengepresan untuk mendapatkan data rata-rata. Parameter yang diukur mencakup volume awal dan akhir, berat awal dan akhir, serta tingkat pengurangan volume dan berat. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mengevaluasi efisiensi pengepresan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa galon plastik memiliki tingkat pengurangan volume tertinggi, yaitu 84%, diikuti oleh botol plastik sebesar 79%, dan label plastik sebesar 66%. Dari segi pengurangan berat, galon plastik juga mencatat hasil tertinggi sebesar 3,2%, sementara botol plastik dan label plastik masing-masing mencatat pengurangan sebesar 0,5% dan 0,8%. Perbedaan hasil ini mencerminkan karakteristik material, di mana sampah berukuran besar dan berongga lebih mudah dipadatkan dibandingkan sampah yang ringan dan fleksibel. Teknologi ini tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan sampah dengan menghemat ruang penyimpanan dan biaya transportasi, tetapi juga mendukung proses daur ulang dengan menghasilkan sampah padat berkualitas tinggi. Mesin ini memiliki potensi besar untuk diterapkan di bank sampah dan fasilitas pengelolaan limbah lainnya guna mendukung pengelolaan sampah yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keberhasilan penerapan pembelajaran daring di SMK N 2 Wonosari pada bidang alih daya dan perawatan sasis kendaraan ringan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode survei wawancara dan kuesioner digunakan untuk pengumpulan data, dan statistik dengan persentase digunakan untuk analisis data. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 90 siswa kelas XI SMK N 2 Wonosari. Siswa dan instruktur yang mengedukasi tentang pemeliharaan sasis dan transmisi tenaga mobil ringan adalah populasi sasaran penelitian. Survei online dengan 50 pertanyaan yang disajikan dengan Google form sebagai kuesioner utama penelitian. Analisis pada data yang menggabungkan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan visualisasi data. Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah implementasi pembelajaran daring SMK N 2 Wonosari secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan persentase sangat baik (32,2%), baik (48,9%), buruk (44,4%), dan sangat buruk (8,9%) berdasarkan temuan penelitian secara keseluruhan. Terdapat persepsi kurang baik dari siswa yang kurang baik, beberapa temuan kelemahan dan kendala dari implementasi pembelajaran daring diantaranya: (1) kurangnya jangkauan jaringan internet, (2) pemahaman aplikasi pembelajaran daring, (3) kuota internet yang cepat habis. Kata Kunci: Implementasi, pembelajaran, kuesioner. Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the success of implementing online learning at SMK N 2 Wonosari in the outsourcing and maintenance of light vehicle chassis. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with interview survey methods and questionnaires used for data collection, and statistics with percentages used for data analysis. The population in this study were 90 students of class XI SMK N 2 Wonosari. Students and instructors who are educated about chassis maintenance and power transmission of light cars are the target population of the study. An online survey with 50 questions presented with Google form as the main research questionnaire. Analysis of data that combines quantitative descriptive analysis techniques with data visualization. The results in this study are that the implementation of online learning at SMK N 2 Wonosari as a whole is included in the good category with very good percentages (32.2%), good (48.9%), bad (44.4%), and very bad (8 .9%) based on the overall research findings. There is a poor perception of students who are not good, some findings of weaknesses and obstacles to the implementation of online learning include: (1) lack of internet network coverage, (2) understanding of online learning applications, (3) internet quota that runs out quickly.
